Celebration Golf Club
Played On 10/18/2022It’s comical really…
Celebration is a good course with a good layout. The location built in a swamp makes it year round soggy but I factor that into the challenge of the course. One warning: don’t expect the practice putting green to be anywhere near the same speed as the course. Putting green was rolling around a 10.5 on the stemp. The course was barely an 8 at best. Weird that they would cut and roll putting green but not the course but whatever. The only flaw of this course and I have seen it time and time again, the staff think they work at Augusta and are very rude, pretentious and pushy. If you buy a coffee in the clubhouse you are handed a k-cup to brew yourself. 😂😂 how tacky and cheap is that? The woman in the pro shop appeared irritated that my round through golf now included range balls since it’s typically not complimentary. And finally the starter…oh the starter. This obnoxious chucklehead came to my 10:40am group at 10:15 to let us know that “he” was ahead of pace and insisted we tee off early. That I appreciated as an offer but not as a demand especially since we had one guy stuck in traffic still. I let him know about our tardy player who would still be on time. He began drilling us with how we have to go early because he has a full tee sheet and may not be able to accommodate us if we don’t. WHAT?!? This has to be the dumbest comment ever uttered by a starter in the history of golf. And we know there have been many many ridiculous phrases screamed without thought after a duffed shot yet this still takes the cake as the stupidest thing I have ever heard on a course. All that being said I have only one suggestion for these people:
relax, you’re not at Augusta and due to your location and swampy conditions with actual premium courses close by you are truly lucky to get the golf traffic you do get. Treat the people who grace your doorstep with dignity and respect or starter boy won’t have to worry about that full tee sheet in the near future.
Mystic Dunes Golf Club
Played On 10/05/2022what a dump
its very disappointing to see a great layout with interesting greens fall into despair. The course is horrible from tee to green with no redeemable qualities. Beyond the cowpasture course the staff is rude and inconsiderate on every level. Of all the courses in the area i urge you to avoid this one at all costs.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Your feedback helps us do better. We are looking into this issue and hope to resolve it promptly. We hope you'll give us another try in the future.
Waldorf Astoria Golf Club
Played On 10/04/20229 holes only
Although the conditions were terrific the course is limited to only the front 9 holes. I feel that the back 9 has so much more character. and proves to more of a challenge. Because of the restrictions there is no beverage cart and the club house bar and restaurant was closed. So to summarize the course plays great but there are no amenities available until they reopen the back 9 in November. Mildly disappointing for a Waldorf property.

Played On 05/31/2022Course and staff horrible
Staff is rude and inconsiderate. I watched the bag guy drag my $350 new bag along side the cart to take it to loading area . My bag now has scuffs and black tire resin staining the white canvas. I pointed it out and not only did I not get an apology but was told it was like that before. Totally unprofessional and extremely unacceptable. The greens are interesting but the rest of the course has not been maintained and looks like a cow pasture. I will not be returning to this dump and suggest with all the great courses in the area nobody waste their time and money here.
This must have been a bad day for you sir. Mystic is not a 1 start course it has came from a 1 star to a 4 I. The last few years we play it frequently. I would suggest your take some lessons at a 15 handicap , and not spent 350 on a golf bag relax.
We’re sorry to hear of your less-than-satisfactory experience and hope you will accept our sincerest apologies. We value our customers' opinions and would like to make things right and determine how we can provide a solution that makes you smile. Please contact us directly at the pro shop. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Shingle Creek Golf Club
Played On 05/26/2022Total embarrassment
Other than a complimentary valet who doesn’t do anything but raise the gate for you to self park and carry your own clubs and a guy in the pro shop who thinks phone call guests take precedence over actually face to face guests, I saw no other staff members all day not even concessions or cart girl. The course doesn’t advertise the greens were just punched and the back nine is closed so you play the front twice in horrible condition. I would be ashamed and embarrassed if I recommended this course to anyone. There was no warning the course was punched or that it’s only 9holes
Reunion Resort - Palmer Course
Played On 07/30/2021not a bad course at all
I enjoyed my round and the staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. The parking is a little wonky and there is no valet so be prepared to hike from your car back across the resort to the proshop. Course conditions were good. the greens rolled true but were a little slow running about a 7 stemp. All on all I enjoyed my day and snice it is simi private it is not crowded to the gills making for a pleasant pace.
Sanctuary Ridge Golf Club
Played On 03/09/2021Worst course in florida
Upon arrival we were pushed back 40 min because they ran out of carts. Larry the starter would be the only good thing at this dump. Super nice guy working hard under the circumstances he has to deal with from poor management and hack golfers who feel entitled on a $20 municipal course. The course fairways are the worst ever with no grass anywhere. The bunkers are full of weeds. And the greens were barren. The worst issue here is the staff. They let singles and twosomes off back to back to back and then actually come out on the course to yell at a 4some who is keeping pace instead of pairing up the twosomes. Jean, an old lady, claimed to be the pro shop manager but has absolutely NO understanding of golf etiquette or how to schedule tee times. It was very embarrassing on her part to have such a limited understanding of the game of golf and compensated by lashing out at guests when she can’t answer simple questions asked to her . I have never been so harsh in reviewing any course no matter the conditions but the management staff here is so incompetent I have nothing good to say about this place and would never recommend “The Ridge “ (they are trying to rebrand the name to get away from all the bad reviews)
Hello, calliverian. Thanks for the review. We see you rated the course 1 star. We take single star feedback very seriously at our course. Please reach out to our management team at (352) 243-0411. Thank you for playing Sanctuary Ridge Golf Club.
Links of Sandpiper
Played On 02/16/2021interesting day of golf
More than anything else I have to commend Jamie in the pro shop. Super nice guy who accommodated our group and went above and beyond to make sure we had a terrific experience. As for the course, it is an interesting layout. The front 9 is the easiest 9 in all of florida. It is short even from the tips with 3 par 5s that are all reachable in 2 shots. It was an extremely forgiving 9 holes where even with missed shots you could rally a par. Then the turn reveals a totally different 9 hole experience. The back is all about placement with hidden fountains that will eat your ball if you arent aware of the layout. I was only able to pull out the driver on 2 holes on the back 9. Overall a very enjoyable round granted the greens were not in good shape they were bouncy and bare but for the price it was a good pick. With the cold weather recently it was completely understandable even Disney is struggling to keep their greens up to par at the moment.
Thank you for your review, calliverian. We will pass along your positive experience to our team at Links of Sandpiper. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
The Golf Club at Ballantyne
Played On 06/15/2020What happened to my favorite Charlotte track?
The Ballentyne legacy has come to an end. Even though the rates are still high, the course and all amenities have been neglected since there is talk of the course closing in a years time. That is the excuse I was given for the poor conditions and shaggy greens. That’s a very very insulting excuse. Nevertheless I still have the memories of when Ballentyne Resort was a premiere course to play. I highly discourage play here with the conditions the course has been reduced to.
The Club At Viniterra
Played On 04/14/2020Friendly staff
I can’t blame the management as much as the covid19 restricting the amenities here. I hope to return after the quarantine when I assume the course will offer more and the conditions of the course will be where they should be. The track was more like a resort course so most golfers should shoot well here. Props to the club house staff for going above and beyond by allowing me a demo driver to use since mine had snapped a shaft days prior.
Hawk's Landing Golf Club
Played On 12/06/2019fastest greens in orlando
This is a wonderful course and a nice pleasant change for the area where most courses are long and designed for heavy hitters. This is quite a bit shorter and encourages strategic placement of tee shots instead of the ol' grip it and rip it. And my favorite part of this course is how extremely fast and undulating the greens are. This is where the true challenge lies and I see many people not prepared, 3 and 4 putting so beware.
Celebration Golf Club
Played On 12/01/2019not impessed at all
the course is an easier shorter course for those who need a break from the challenging courses the area has to offer. This is a $30 round course at best not $80 which was the "hot deal rate" and then another $2 for something they like to call and environmental fee then money for a cup of Keurig coffee you make yourself in the pro shop. Even a bottle of water is $3 which is complimentary at ALL courses around that are less expensive. For the price you would assume a couple amenities would be included but sadly no. The course is a target course which is fun to play with a few blind shots but the greens are bumpy and eaten up with crabgrass from neglect. The clubhouse staff was not rude but not helpful or friendly either, just indifferent. The starter also not helpful if its your first time playing, but the ranger was a super nice guy (cant remember his name but had an accent) So if you get a good rate of $30 or less and are prepared to be regarded as just another random golfer giving them money then I recommend this course. Otherwise there are so many better courses with better staff and better conditions and amenities in the area I would play instead. Personally I was excited to play celebration but after my experience there I doubt I will ever go back. Its a good thing I bought a place in Windermere instead of Celebration as I almost did. I would have been very upset if this were my home course instead of Grand Cypress which is always a great experience.
We appreciate you taking time to leave us a review, and we're sorry to hear your experience at Celebration didn't quite live up to your expectations. We do hope you'll change your mind and come see us again sometime!
Waldorf Astoria Golf Club
Played On 11/30/2019only one bad thing to say...
Waldorf at Disney is a truly exceptional place to play with friendly, attentive staff from the complimentary valet to the pro shop to the course staff including starters, rangers, etc. All of which is top notch in providing a wonderful experience. Upon arrival they already make you feel like royalty with the simplest of details like always referring to you by name once you share your tee time details with the valet. I arrived without a driver after snapping one the day before. Instead of renting one the pro shop offered me a demo complimentary for my round. And this is a valuable note, you need your driver for this course for it plays very long. Whatever tees your handicap suggests it is my recommendation to move up one if you want a good score. The course is in pristine condition and the greens are form and roll true with very few ball marks if any. Now for the only negative comment... I cannot afford to play here every day and have to restrict myself to twice a week instead of going hungry and skipping mortgage payments. Other than that this is an amazing course and worth every penny.
Shingle Creek Golf Club
Played On 10/28/2019does not disappoint
I have played this course several times and it always challenges me with precision shots and long par fours. The only complaint I have about the past couple times I have played are in regards to the greens. They are still rolling true and difficult with the bold undulations but wow they have been so slow recently. Over the past couple weeks I have been to Shingle Creek several times hoping they would cut and roll the greens to speed them up. In the past they have run about a 9.5 - 10 but lately I am guessing they are running 6 or 6.5 at best. Like putting on a shag carpet. It's frustrating because I have seen them in pristine condition in the past and know they have the means to get them there again. Beyond that it was as pleasurable as always and the amenities and staffing are wonderful.
ChampionsGate Golf Club - International
Played On 10/15/2019Good layout
I enjoyed the challenges of this track. Be warned its a true links course so if you are not in the fairway say bye bye to your ball in super tall and thick knee deep grass. Greens were good but not quite as fast as proclaimed in tbe pro shop.
Great! We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing ChampionsGate Golf Club.
The Golf Club at Ballantyne
Played On 09/03/2019Still worth it...
The only bad thing i can say is that i am disappointed how slow the greens have been the past couple times i have played here. My favorite aspect of this course is that the greens usually run 11 or 12. Lately its been 8 at best. They still run true and are in good shape just so much slower than they once were. Staff is still super friendly and the amenities are brilliant.
North Creek Golf Club
Played On 07/11/2019The twilight zone
Well I truly felt like I was in the twilight zone playing this course. Everything about this course is horrible except the greens they are immaculate they roll about an 11 and are all true. But there is nothing else good about the place. When I arrived there was only one person in the pro shop no one at the backdrop no starters no rangers nothing. I asked him for range balls his answer was he had no one to pick them up so he had none available unless I wanted to walk out on the driving range and pick up a few and hit them. Scary thing is he was serious. With no Rangers I got behind a family with a man his wife and his son all beginners. As a single I patiently waited for three holes before I addressed the family at the next Teebox asking if I could play through the husband who I assumed would at least know a little edit kit set a really bad example for his family in saying he paid his money too I could wait. I ended up skipping the par three to finish the last three holes and when I addressed it in the pro shop the kid at the register simply said these things happen. So yes my overall experience suggests never returning to this dump but I still cannot believe how incredibly well groomed the greens were. The bunkers are a completely different story! Geez, horrible
Thank you for taking the time to review the course. Let us first start by apologizing for your experience during your recent round as this is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make necessary improvements before your next game. We truly appreciate your patience regarding other players on the course, but we will continue to work towards an excellent golf experience by using your comments for guidance. Please feel free to reach out to us directly if you would like to discuss any concerns further, and we hope we have the chance to welcome you back for a better round soon.
Covered Bridge Golf Club

Having said that... stay the heck out of the rough!!!! Good grief! Greens were good and ran true fairways a little bare in places but overall a good course. And the staff make it worth the while
Lake at Carolina Trace Country Club
Played On 03/30/2019What a waste of time
This course is a cow pasture and a dump. There are no Rangers there are no starters and there are no beverage carts in the price they’re charging makes all of this a true disappointment. There’s very little grass in the fairways but the greens are the only good thing about the place hard and fast. There is not even a bag drop or a sign to let you know where to go and the pro shop expects you just to grab a car go to the parking lot and load up your own bag. Total laziness on their part. There are no marks signs to let you know where number one or number 10 is so I’m having to ask other golfers. The driving range is a small area of mats that was over ran by college kids so I could not even hit a few. The entire experience made me feel like I was in an environment where someone threw a little money at a golf course I had no idea how to run it. It is absolutely not worth the price they charge. As a matter of fact they could not pay me to come back to this crappy little dump. With so many better courses in the area please do not fall into the same trap that I did.
Hello, calliverian. Thank you for visiting us at Celebration Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
