Played this course several years ago and it was impressive and in excellent shape so I was surprised that it wasn't in very good shape for this round. Fairways were beat down and brown. When I mentioned the appearance to the Pro Shop, they just said that the area had experience below average temps over the prior few weeks. However we played two other courses in nearby Sandestin the following day and their course was in much better shape. Pace of play was slow and we were dismayed when we received a cart message that said we needed to return the carts by 5:00 pm which gave us less than 4 hours to play 18 holes. Why sell an 18-hole tee time and not allow at least 4 hours to play?
Thank you for joining us again this year to play Kelly Plantation Golf Club. Our guest loyalty has allowed us to meet many new friends over the years and we certainly appreciate seeing you every year here. It appears you played in February this year during our twilight rate at $69.00 plus tax. This rate is below our 9-hole rate of $85.00, so we feel its certainly a great value to play Kelly Plantation Golf Club. When making a tee time during the twilight rate hours we inform our patrons that there is a possibility they will not complete 18 holes due to darkness, especially in February. The message you are referring to about the time of day to return carts is set at 5:30pm in February and is sent to all carts through our GPS system to allow our guest to safely return to the club house before darkness approaches. Pace of play that day was 4 hours and 18 minutes according to our GPS log at 1:00pm. Our tee sheet shows you booked your tee time at 1:53pm and our cart log says your group went off the #1 tee on time. The golf course sets its proper pace at 4 hours and 15 minutes to allow our guest to enjoy the round. On February 26th the sunsets at apprx. 5:42pm. This would allow you only only 3 hours and 45 minutes to play 18 holes because your tee time began at 1:53pm. The course was in fantastic shape. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were some of the best I've played in the Destin area (and I've played most all). I highly recommend Indian Bayou!

Enjoyed playing. One of the best in the Destin area. Was surprised by one thing though; after finishing my round, I was walking away with my clubs and surprised to be told by a staff member to go back to my cart and drive it up to the bag drop off area. Couldn't have been more than 15 yards away so why have a customer walk back to their cart, strap their clubs back on, and drive it the short distance?? Plus it was at the end of the day so it wasn't like they were overrun with other patrons. Makes the staff look lazy.

Course needs attention. Many greens have large amounts of dead grass. Bunkers need working and replenishing. Owner should invest some capital in the maintainance of the course. Could be a really enjoyable tract of land if better maintained.

Great Course
Course was very pretty. Staff was friendly and eager to help. Fairways were a bit tight but enjoyable. Greens were somewhat small but in good shape. Now that I have played, it will even more enjoyable the next time I'm here. Will definitely be back!

Really enjoyed playing Kelly Plantation again. Beautiful holes along the bay. Fairways and greens were in very good condition. The staff are always helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back soon.

This was my second time to play Regatta Bay and I enjoyed both rounds. Staff was very friendily and the course was in excellent shape for late December. We'll definitely be back in the spring!
