Whirlwind Golf Club - The Devil's Claw Course
Played On 04/16/2023Great facility
Really great experience all around. Staff was super friendly and accommodating from start to finish. Practice facilities included huge putting and short game area and a well manicured driving range. Course was in great shape, greens ran true and slightly quick with some challenging tiers. Layout was fun and engaging with some elevation change and guarded greens. Didn't see beverage cart during the round, but water was readily available on each side. Played at 3pm on a Sunday and didn't run into any pace issues until mid back 9. Would definitely recommend if you can find a deal between $100-150. I will be back for sure!
Las Sendas Golf Club
Played On 12/09/2023Great challenge
Awesome day from start to finish. Everything from pro shop to practice area to starter on 1 tee was seamless. Course was in really good shape and offered a really challenging test from every tee box. Greens rolled true and fast, and pace of play was outstanding. Will definitely be back soon!
Shepherd's Hollow 1 Golf Course
Played On 08/28/2020Top notch layout
First time out there, played 10-27. The layout of the course leaves absolutely nothing to be desired. Very unique track and challenging from any tee box you pick. No two holes are alike. Plenty of hard dog legs, elevation and blind drives. Conditions of the tees, fairways, rough and bunkers were top notch. Only complaint would be the greens. While they were very difficult by nature and well designed, there was a lot of damage from unfixed ball marks and occasional littering of geese droppings. Totally understand that these things can't be fully controlled by the facility, but if these greens were in a little better shape, you could name your price and I'd live out there. Overall, highly recommend you give it a shot. The atmosphere alone is worth the price of admission

Really nice track here. Plenty of variety and challenge. Conditions were ideal from tee to green. For $40, it's well worth your time. Highly suggest you give it a go!
Blackheath Golf Club
Played On 07/23/2020Great Value
Really enjoyed this golf course. Links style, but played pretty soft. Tees, fairways and greens all in great shape. Layout was unique and challenging. Would love to give this track a run when it gets firmed up. Could really be a good test. Overall for the value, you can't beat it. I will certainly be back again soon!
Beacon Hill Golf Club
Played On 07/20/2020Good layout
First timer here. Loved the layout of the course. Very challenging from the tips (6700 yds). Many long forced carries, blind tee shots, and tight windows off the tee. Putting surfaces were fairly slow, but rolled true where there weren't unfixed ball marks. Consistency of tee boxes and fairways left a little to be desired, but not a deal breaker. Overall pretty cool track that needs some minor TLC. Would probably come back if I was in the area
Sanctuary Lake Golf Course
Played On 03/07/2020Late winter gem
Had the pleasure of getting out on this golf course in early March, which was quite the luxury this time of year in Michigan. First time playing here and absolutely fell in love with the layout. Every hole is unique, and requires a thoughtful approach both off the tee and into the green. Tee shots on par 4s and 5s, for the most part, are pretty forgiving, but there are most definitely areas that can spring up trouble in a heartbeat. Plenty of elevated tee boxes as well as some uphill tee shots. Even with the dormant grass coming out of the frozen conditions, the surfaces played pretty fairly. Greens were understandably slow, but no complaints given the time of year. Still plenty of shelves and undulation on these greens to make them challenging. Biggest problem was the lack of care from the players not fixing ball marks. Be better people!
Pace of play was good. Clubhouse has basic amenities, and quite honestly, hot dogs and beer at the turn is about all I need to keep me happy. Overall, I'd highly recommend this course, and am very interested to see the conditions of this course in peak season. I have a feeling this could become my new favorite track if those greens firm up and get a little faster!
If you haven't had the chance to play this track, I'd highly recommend it. I drove from downtown Detroit (45 min drive) and I would do it again any time!
Windswept Dunes Golf Course
Played On 06/20/2018Awesome track!
Quick ride from Grayton Beach area. Total gem of a course. Pretty basic clubhouse, but staff was very accommodating. The golf course was in superb shape, greens rolled true, but not super fast. Theres plenty of undulation on these large greens and the surrounding run off areas will challenge every aspect of your short game. Tee shots seem visually intimidating, but are actually very forgiving once you see the width of the fairways. Loved the layout and the combination of challenge/ forgiveness. Overall, very pleased and I will be back!
Indian Bayou Golf Club

Audubon Park Golf Course
Played On 05/22/2016Holy greens!
I've been playing this course for years, always enjoy the hybrid par 3 layout. Conditions are normally pretty solid, but the greens regressed in the last year. As a result, i gave the course a rest for a few months. But my most recent experience was nothing short of spectacular. The condition of the course was unlike anything I've seen in the area. PERFECT velvet putting surfaces. Do yourself a favor and play the course ASAP. I hate giving out a good secret, but I can't hold this one back. Nola golfers need to know!
Cypress Bend Golf Resort
Played On 07/10/2015Unique challenge
Recently went on a family vacation and stayed in nearby lake house. Played 5 1/2 rounds in my 3 day stay. Clubhouse/ Pro shop pretty standard; nothing super fancy but not poor quality either. All staff was very friendly. Driving range is located on top of a large hill so determining distances pre round can be tricky. The course, like the range, is extremely hilly with many tee shots being played down 50-100 feet below tee box. The toughest aspect of the course is the doglegs, most of which play a full 90 degrees in either direction. I'm a 6 handicap with driving average around 280-300, and the 6700 yards from the tips seemed longer given that my driver would run out of room on many of said holes. With that being said, you must play to specific spots on the course and not try to overpower it if you want to score well. The scenery that accompanies about 6 or 7 holes near the lake are absolutely awesome. Now, the bad. For my first round, the greens hadn't been cut and they played awfully slow. Many greens had small dirt patches in spots. but pins were mostly placed on the nicer area on the green. The greens did play pretty receptive, with short/mid irons and wedges checking with some spin. There are also some bare spots on the fairways consisting of red clay and rocks. Greens were cut for the weekend and rolled significantly better. Most of the bunkers lacked proper amount of sand, playing pretty firm. The rough in certain areas was a bit too long and penalizing for my liking, given the fact that a ball in play on the tricky blind doglegs shouldn't go missing a few feet off the fairway. Overall, the course is a beautiful, tough test and would definitely recommend it if you are in the area.
