Palm Desert Country Club
Played On 10/16/2022Palm Desert is a rough muni!
Layout is pretty good but the grounds crew clearly has no interest in aesthetics.. A little planning and elbow grease could turn this into a hidden gem. No food service so no morning coffee. Easy fixes but the course must be in tough financial shape.

Whoever NGR hired as their Superintendent gets very high marks from me. Dramatically better condition than ever before and the bunkers, green collars, approaches look like the best Private Club.
Greens are smooth and a pure roll.
Cold Spring Country Club

Liked the golf course but the staff and service were atrocious. Don’t open if you cannot afford staff.

Good layout, excellent greens. Fairways and Bunkers are just playable, not excellent.

Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort - North/South

Getting there is the hard part as there are not many signs and even gps gets confused. Nice course, fairly straight forward except for two tricky holes, first on each of the North and West nines. Not in great shape but greens rolled OK.
Deerhurst Highlands Golf Course - Deerhurst Lakeside

The re design is excellent...fun short course. However, the cart paths are 5 years past needing refinishing...back breaking cart rides.
Greens and tees are OK, bunkers are just awful...no body does any bunker maintenance at this course. Fairways are just average.

Very difficult course for mid to high handicap players. Terrific shape even with freshly punched greens. Well named and interesting design. It demands another play because now you know what to avoid and where to aim. Many carrys are just too long for the average player. Many greens are huge and create bug time 3 putt potential.

Played On 08/26/2018Possibly the best conditioned and most challenging greens in Muskoka.
Really enjoyed a fast game on a tough course in really good shape. We will be back for more this golf season.
Palms at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort

Do not book golf at this facility ever! Actual tee time is always 30 to 45 minutes later than what you booked. Explanation by staff "always this way". Then we plod along for 6 hours..no Marshals...no relief.
Have now played both courses a year apart and had exact same experience both times.

Very interesting golf course.. good condition...fast greens...a bit slow at almost 5 hours for 18...could use Marshals for pace of play.
Desert Falls Country Club

Tough track...some long carries....difficult greens. very slow round...4.5hrs.
