Shoal Creek Golf Course
Played On 05/29/2022Great layout
Love this course. A little work to do on the fairways due to some rain damage but other than that it’s a fun and challenging course in pretty good condition for the most part. Maybe cut the rough a bit lower to make it easier to find a ball when you miss the fairway but overall this course is a good value. Will definitely come back
Chula Vista Golf Course
Played On 06/21/2020What a goat ranch
This course is in the worst condition possible. Greens diseased, overgrown in the few places there is grass, punched and a total mess. There are no fairways. Just dead grass and dirt. Will never play this course again.
Friars/Presidio at Riverwalk Golf Club
Played On 05/01/2020Not really golf
So there are many golf courses once again open in San Diego. Riverwalk I will say is in it's best condition overall minus the punched greens with nickel sized holes and if you've played here before then you know that it's typically a goat ranch. That said, they waited all this time during the lockdown to punch the greens with huge holes making it impossible to putt. What were you doing for the last two months? Then on top of that they put the cups raised up above the hole so that you just need to bounce the ball off the cup. Really stupid and it's not even golf. Makes it pointless to keep score because it's too easy to bounce it off the cup. This is just a hysteria rule. No other clubs are doing this that have reopened. I won't be playing here again as long as they have the cups raised. Seriously guys, other clubs are putting the cups in upside down so that the flag is in and the cup is only about as deep as the ball, or they are putting a piece of PVC pipe around the flag in the hole to prevent the ball from going in deep. Easy to retrieve your ball either way and you don't need to touch the flag. On top of that, other clubs are allowing you to use a cart, but not Riverwalk. Quit with the stupid rules born out of hysteria. Shot of someone coughing on you, you are at almost zero risk of getting CV outdoors and we all know how to wash our hands after/during play. Taking out all the garbage cans is also pointless. I can't drop an empty water bottle in the trash without risking my life? Stupid. But they have trash cans around the parking lot. Make up your mind, is it hazardous to our health to use a garbage can or not. Of course not. This course will lose revenue if they keep the stupid raised cup rule.
Warner Springs Ranch
Played On 09/01/2019Terrible condition of course
We came to this course due to other reviews of it being in great shape. I don't know what others were talking about. We were going to play 36 holes. When we got there the pro shop guy went into a rant about Golf Now and how they shouldn't have had our tee time available and how the course would only be getting the cart fee. Ridiculous. The course is in terrible shape. The greens were way over grown. You literally couldn't get the ball to roll even downhill without way overhitting it. Greens are diseased as well and a good portion of the rough was way over grown. It was a joke. We left after 3 holes and went to San Vicente and played 36 holes and I thoroughly encourage others who are headed out east of San Diego to play SV instead. Warner Springs is a goat ranch with poor service. They don't even try. Will never come back. Spent about $90 for a twosome and we left in disgust without trying to continue past hole 3. Don't waste your time or money
Crazy town
Sprinklers going off during play on hole 10 at 11:30am. Maintenance guys cutting greens while you’re hitting approach on 17 at 1pm. Who cuts greens in the middle of the day and then makes you wait while they do it? What a crap show. They stand on edge of green while you hit and then go back tomowing while your buddy waits to hit. Then they move to the edge of green while you’re buddy hits and then repeat. Greens in poor shape and course over watered. Not coming back any time soo
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting EastLake Country Club. We hope to see you again in the future.
Native Oaks Golf Club
Played On 05/06/2018great course and challenging
I was pleasantly surprised by my first trip to this course. It's a bit narrow for a fair amount of the holes. Pace of play was great. Greens roll true. A great layout and good strategy. I would definitely play here again.
Friars/Presidio at Riverwalk Golf Club
Played On 11/10/20176 hour round the norm
If you like a 6 hour round, Riverwalk is the place. Frequently, you'll be waiting 2 or 3 groups at the first tee. You heard that right. And to make sure you get your 6 hour round, they love to book 5 player groups. Ahh, the 5 player group. They love it because they never have to wait since they can't keep up with anyone. And everyone behind them get's to sit and witness every shot they take. And it's never the decent golfer's that are in a group of 5. It's always the 50yd hacks. This is the norm for this course. And you will always find numerous fairways that are under repair. If they simply cared enough to keep a marshall on the course making sure groups stayed a shot behind it would be a fun course to play.
