Greentree Golf Club
Played On 05/27/2015Good course for a casual round of golf
aside from the limitation of only nine holes this course is fine for average golfers. in most cases there is plenty of room to roam but there are tight spots that can pena;lize wayward shots. the greens were a little bumpy because that had been recently areated but were in good shape and good sized .
Meadowood Golf Club
Played On 07/03/2014Enjoyable couse
this course is great for beginner/intermediate golfers. It can be forgiving but there are enough obstacles to require good placement on most holes.
Sugar Ridge Golf Club
Played On 05/08/2014play it forward
as a member of a senior group I recommend the play it forward rule. the course has a confusing but well marked layout.. the cart paths are in good shape and we believe that a cart is necessary because of the many elevation changes. we are not sure that some of the par three yardages are correct based on some unexpected results off the tee.
Green Crest Golf Club
Played On 11/11/2013good greens and plenty of challanges
This course was in great shape other than mothers natures gift to the fall season-leafs! On most holes there was a challenge to the straight forward. A dog leg here, a sand trap there, and occasional water hazards. We enjoyed playing and will go back in the future.
Brook Hill Golf Club
Played On 10/28/2013Enjoyed the course
We were a pair of seniors playing this course. It was in great condition and offered challenges although there was typically room to roam off the tee. The layout was a little strange but was not a deterrent to play just had to mind the signs carefully.
White/Blue at Neumann Golf Course
Played On 10/16/2013Nice course/very flexible
We played the red and blue nines. Both were interesting. The course was in good condition but the greens had recently been aerated and sanded so we could not experience the fast greens that Neumann has the reputation for. The degree of difficulty of the course can vary significantly with the tee box selected. As a senior group we opted for the gold in most cases
Potter's Park Golf Course
Played On 06/06/2013Short yardage but interesting
This course may not meet the needs of "big hitters" but for the senior crowd I travel with it was an enjoyable play. The course was in good condition and played well even on the rainy day we were there. The par threes from the back tees proved to be very challenging.
Beech Creek Golf Course
Played On 05/24/2013Short but challenging
My group consists of seniors so the par fours are generally "feel good" holes because they can be reached in two. However , in most cases there are well placed obstacles that require accurate shots to overcome. Two holes have alternate tees that change the play signicantly for those playing eighteen.
Deer Run Country Club
Played On 11/15/2012Interesting layout
This course is very senic and has many challenging holes. I am a senior golfer of average ability and played from the white tees. The result was that some of the par 4s were out of range to reach in regulation. Most of the holes offered challenges because of terrain and/or strategic obstacles.
The one negative was the condition of the greens where I frequently encountered bumps along the path to the holes. This could be related to the time of year-mid-november-and the type of summer weather we have had this year.
Shawnee Lookout Golf Course
Played On 10/11/2012fun to play if you like hills
the course was in excellent shape and was fun to play. we are seniors and for sume the terrain was challenging to negiotiate even with riding carts because you cant ride everywhere. kthe greens are generally sloped and moderately fast.. you need to be very careful with downhill puts or you could be chipping back.
