Generally, the round was good, definitely not wide open.
The back nine was not well-marked for a new player. Hope to try it again... maybe!
California Oaks Golf Course

The CA Oaks course is in bad shape but has good bones.
The course is potted with critter's holes everywhere and needs lots of love.
After 35 years, there are better muni courses.
MAYBE when the grill is open, the course is fixed, and the tee boxes are groomed, Ill try it again.
On a positive NOTE, the golf cart is in good shape.

just moved into the area and want to try all the courses in a 20-mile radius. And yes only a 9-iron with and course not marked very well.
But for kids and families... it's perfect!
Bay View Golf Club

First time on this course, and it was a LONG drive for me.
The winds were painful, so if your game is 10 HC or lower, this might be a good place to play.
I do NOT think i would do that again.

Having used this GolfNow site for many years many courses, and many outings this is the first review that I was moved to write.
Just a bit of background, the course was good, but the guy or the manager at the time of my scheduled round at 11:50 AM, seem to be insulted at my arrival at 11:51 AM. He said I was too late and he might not "allow" me to play the round. He mentioned the 15 min. check-in time before the round was his Authority to cancel my golf round.
After reading and re-reading your FAQs under GolNow Basic, it did not show up. After talking with other players during the round, they said he was this way with most black me.

Deep Cliff Golf Course

The course was not in great shape. All the tee boxes were out of place and shot. The front nine was kind of a mess: tee box and putting surfaces. The back was much better in terms of the grees being in good shape.
Not sure if I would play it again. This course is NOT set to use a driver.
Emerald Hills Golf Course

Okay. 9-hole but for such a remote course much more time might have been devoted to the basic course maintenance.
However, I was not shocked just disappointed

did not get to play more than 9holes due to the time of year. (it gets dark around 4:00 PM. My tee-off was around 2:00 PM

The good news is the course is in the middle of old-growth Redwoods...nice!
Although I've looked forward to playing this course for many years, it was just too far away. However, I found a great price on Thursday. The google machine said it was "established" in 1961, but any the upgrades are hard to find. The COVID monster is now allowing us to play golf safely so the grounds should be really good right?
The drive there is nightmarish and Hwy 9 or Bear Creek Road NO-FUN.

Lake Chabot Golf Course - The 18 Hole Course
Played On 05/13/2020many people jump right in front of my chipping
Four people jumped in front of my game. One guy wanted to fight about him jumping in front of me.
I only played 9-10 holes... and just back to the clubhouse.
The club could not provide any adjustment but did say send GolfNow my issues.

Where to start..
*The bathrooms are a from the 1920's and "not" kept up
*The folks in the club house were definitive
*NO...NO..NO... not one sign or way to determine how far the pin was or is
* score cards I sure were there but not there easy
*The grounds were just untouched for years
* The 17th hole of the key hole is a great par 3 199 yards
*YES...YES...YES it is a public course but there are public courses that are not that BAD
***That enough, right
