Ranger Wanted

Course is in nice shape overall. Greens are smooth - not too fast. Only issue was the pace of play- played single behind a threesome that was super slow. Poor etiquette on their part for not letting me pay through.

Clubhouse under renovation?

Early season conditions

Some greens were bumpy. Fairways so so - grass is dormant in some spots still. No yardage markers- not even a stake. Had to pass a threesome for slow play.

On a positive note- easy to navigate- just follow cart paths to each hole. Also $43 on Golf Now is a good price compared to other courses in my area. I’d imagine that in a few months course would be visually appealing.

Bag dropoff area is run well

A Step back in time

If you're looking for Beer cart girls or high tech stuff stat away
But if you're looking for a nice challenge , various lies, more trees than you can ever count this be the place.
Beware of screwy hole pattern on the front nine with cross crossing holes. We actually started on one hole and finished on another. All you have to do is look at hole diagram on scorecard,.
Course was in great condition considering four days of rain. There are some bare spots and muni grade traps that are NFG but I'd go there again on Hot Deal only,. Course seems quite walkable but regular price of $50 with cart, no way

Beware of the sand

Paid $30
Not overly challenging but grounds immaculate and staff nice.
One criticism- no Marshall on course to monitor slow play

Recommended but NOT at full price

Good weather

Got Good Bones

no yardage markers
sand traps akin to gravel pits
overgrown rough
clubhouse in need of repair

all that said the weather has been rough but course is a hodgepodge of criss-crossed holes and overall lack of cohesion

short but not simple

I live near the course and gotta say it's a far cry from the old pitch and putt, fairways drier than a desert of a dozen years ago. While not long, it does give you a chance to use quite a few clubs. Odd layout - a par three to start- and two holes fairly identical back-to-back (7 and 8#- the two newer holes 4 and 5 are longer but unimaginative. The good news is that there is a large driving range- quick access for food and drink #Aunt Chiladas) and the price is fair. The course presently is plush- and the greens smooth and well mainured. Maybe best of all is the walker freindly aspect -very level and not at all rugged.

All about the bottom line

the golf course itself is nice- good variation of holes , a decent challenge if not more. The problem is the money grubbing- prices way to high. Also place can be overbooked- case in point played nine (3 hours) -course was very wet and got a raincheck. returned a week later and they clipped me for another $9.50 claiming a ppirice increase. Spoke to manager who gave me lip service and bragged about what a great "value" and course it is. Places like this give the word "public" a bad name!!!

hidden gem

Personal favorite -while the "serious" golfers prefer nearby Lyman Meadows quite a few loyalists like this shorter track. Quite hilly and not that long it has a good variation ane the views in the fall- outstanding. A bit pricey but you can get deals at numerous websites that make it a great deal. Clientele seems loyal and not hard partying as at lots of public courses. Family run , warm and the food is excellent.
