Woodhaven Country Club
Played On 04/15/2018Not in the best shape but its early in the season
This course use to be private, so if expecting pristine you will be disappointed. It is better than some municipals. Greens are on the rebound from the winter season. If your looking to practice the price is right, and not overcrowded.
Riverside Golf Club
Played On 04/11/2015First time challenging course
Course was in great shape, a few wet spots but it poured the night before. Some sand traps had large puddles, only landed in one and was just damp. I would say this course is not for a beginner. You should be fairly confident of your drives, and lengths of your iron play, lots of water, so intimidation could factor in your confidence. I definitely will play this again, as I pretty much a regular at "The Golf Club at the Resort" player in N. Fort Worth.
Irving Golf Club
Played On 10/27/2013Nice course to practice
This course is a good value, but don't criticize if the fairways are not to perfection, Lots of fire ant hills, and some weeds. Under $30 for a round should be your cut off point. If your going to pay more, suggest you try a different course with slightly better greens and fairways. I not that good of golfer, so if this was better in conditions I doubt my game would be any better.
Side note: we played a day after it rained, and many of the bunkers were full of water. Could use a better drain system out sand traps.
The Golf Club at Champions Circle
Played On 9/22/2013Good course
Only thing that could be improved is the drainage in bunkers.
It's not a big deal, when mother nature drops a little rain, and is a pretty welcome site. I hit into 2 sand traps 1st hole, not a pleasant way to start, hitting a green side bunker, and then find out your ball is somewhere in the middle of the pond in the bunker. It would be nice if the bunkers drained within a least a day after the rain. Overall its a great place to play.
Willow Springs Golf Course
Played On 9/18/2013Good Place to practice
Fairways are wide open, you have to really miss hit here to lose a ball. Greens are OK, not to the level of some high dollar courses, but they are consistent.
Like the place close to home, and usually not overly busy. Many inexperience players, so play can be slow sometimes.
The Resort Golf Club
Played On 4/25/2013Very good golf course
This course will challenge every aspect of your game. Greens are very well maintained. Course between holes can be tricky, went the wrong way on a couple of holes. I never played this course and played the 1st nine as a single, finished the back nine with a twosome. It was helpful with that the guys I paired up with were residents, blind hazards, and navigation of the course was a true blessing
The Golf Club At Fossil Creek
Played On 1/20/2013Course will test you in all aspects
The greens were better than many courses. Overall this is very well maintained. I am a member of the PDP at Iron horse, this course is a step up in player abilities, and challenges.
