Hot day of course, but this course is playing well right now. Some bare and firm spots on fairways, greens rolling good. Good mix of holes. Pace and value high.

We understand -- summer is the time AZ courses need to get work done in preparation for the high season when they make the bulk of their revenues. Right now the conditions here are not great - may tee boxes in process, greens with bad patches, some fairways dry and sparse and some soggy areas, etc. Fees are OK, fast play in the afternoon on a hot day.

Always tough to review AZ courses in the summer. Today’s round was as expected — hot, dry, average conditions, not many people out there. Greens are pretty good, fairways hit or miss. Will be back.

Much better condition than last year. Plenty of grass in fairways but bare in the rough. Greens also in good shape but very firm, must land approach shots well short in the flag. Pace in late afternoon no issue. Worth playing.

Interesting and unusual mix of holes, generally pretty cool place. Some odd doglegs, narrow landing zones, pinched and elevated greens. Other holes more open and generic. Some holes easy, others really difficult with challenging approaches to the green. Used many clubs from the bag. Green conditions were the best part - very receptive but quick rolling, especially on downhill putts. Pace was generally good for a muni. Traps not great and some bare spots/odd grasses in the fairways. Some rough was quite long and difficult to hit out of. OVerall, well worth the fees charged.

Tees and fairways shaggy - not much roll out even though it was dry. Odd mixture of grasses in the fairways - some nice sections but other areas clumpy and erratic in texture creating poor lies. Greens are in very good condition but not soft and receptive - no bare spots, rolls true although on the slow side. Decent layout with numerous interesting holes - most fairways wide so driving not difficult. Shop service friendly and pace excellent due to time of year. Well worth the low green fees paid.

Good variety of holes, not too difficult and rewards good approach shots. Rough is minimal, not many hazards to ruin your score. Greens can be challenging and sand traps are in play on many holes. Windy afternoon, very few players so pace was wide open. Great value at this course.

Incredible mountain setting - snow in the peaks even in July. Tough layout, elevation changes make club selection difficult. Lots of trouble if you miss the fairways or greens. Mountains make reading greens a challenge. Don't expect to hit your usual score here. Conditions good, maybe a bit shaggy and moist. Fair green fee for a nice course on a holiday. Recommended.

Decent course, good mix of holes, none the same. Par 3's are most challenging with length and tough undulating greens. No too much trouble, wide fairways, not much rough, but lots if dirt and rock if you miss. Greens in good shape but firm so hard to hold shots. Pace good in late afternoon, price was right, so good value.

I found this layout to be a mixed bag - some really nice holes in good condition, others of strange design and/or in poor shape. The greens were generally good, held well and putted nice with some subtle breaks. Some elevation changes make for good views but also hard to judge distances and some awkward lies. A couple of holes have blind tee shots, rocks to clear, abrupt doglegs, or brush to navigate. The pace was great in early afternoon and the price was right - overall worth it to play.

A good course, but not special. Conditions and layout are just OK, although greens were receptive and rolled nicely. There were some slow players on a late Sunday afternoon so pace was not great. Rough was shaggy and tough to hit out of when the ball nestled. It was windy on this day so holes into the wind played long. Cost in line with location and quality of course.

I was surprised at the overall quality and play of this course being one of the older ones in Saddlebrooke. Beautiful setting against the mountains, it carves in and out of rolling terrain with a natural setting. Many quality holes with interesting features off the tee or around the green. Not overly long but fair with premium on accuracy, so it's possible to score well here. A few barren spots in the fairways, but overall good conditions and excellent rolling greens. We had the course to ourselves on a Saturday afternoon other then the 40+ mule deer we saw enjoying the Arizona sun. Staff was friendly, carts were in good shape, and the cost was well below the value of this course.

Nice variety of holes, some easy and some challenging. Scenic location with some holes facing the mountains. Fairways have plenty of lush turf, greens in very good condition but don't hold approach shots well and rolled a bit slow. Only issue was hard and wet sand traps. Pace was no problem, nice carts, great value, and easy to enjoy an afternoon of golf.

Layout is scenic but a mixed bag - some nice holes, some not so great. Many holes narrow with tall trees and houses too close. Some short doglegs and blind shots made driving the ball tricky. Conditions also mixed - firm fairways, erratic rough, wet areas, etc. Greens in good shape, putted nice with plenty of slopes, but were firm and did not hold incoming shots. Pace of play was great, price was right. Overall worth it, and is a great place to play during the summer.

Interesting layout with some length, numerous dogleg par 4 & 5's. No sand traps on the course, water in play on 2 holes, not overly difficult if you keep in in the grass. Par 3's are not pushovers. Errant shots can be difficult to recover - a lot of trees, rocky areas, hard pan dirt. Conditions were pretty good - some brown areas in the fairways, and some firm lies, but most greens were large and in very good shape - not marked up, feature some undulations, and roll pretty true. Pace was excellent for Friday PM, and well worth the twilight green fees.

Fast play in the afternoon. Conditions OK - a bit shaggy, greens slow. Most holes are short and a couple par 4's are drivable. Greens are challenging - slopes that repel approach shots, many uphill or side hill putts. Good beginner course or for practicing irons and short game. Priced about right.

Rugged and shaggy, somewhat by design. Beautiful high desert setting amongst canyons, washes, mesas, and cliffs. Lots of elevation changes, tough to get a flat lie. Conditions were fair at best - clover in fairways, many thin areas, rough too heavy, some bumpy rough greens. You better hit it straight and at the proper angles or else you will find the desert rocks and brush. Layout is a mixed bag - some holes spectacular, others questionable with blind shots or too narrow landing areas. Most greens have tiers and slopes - difficult to hit approach shots close and 3 putts are looming. Many holes can wreck your score. I'm glad I played it but once is enough.

Nice high-end Troon course with some great holes - quite challenging for average players. Tees and fairways lush and in great shape, greens bumpy from recent aeration but still hold shots well and putted with reasonable speed. Fairways are wide but sand is in play off the tee on most holes. Greens are elevated and protected by deep bunkers with plenty of sand, so precise iron shots are needed. Most of the trouble is around the greens - some have multiple tiers and lots of slopes. Excellent practice facilities included with green fees. Only have a snack bar - full restaurant under construction. A bit of a drive from most anywhere in Phoenix, and the locale is not particularly scenic, but overall a superior golf experience and well worth the price of admission on a hot summer day.

The layout here is average - not too difficult, but the par 3's are challenging from the back tees. Greens today were not great - slow, bumpy and sand filled from recent aeration. Tee boxes and fairways in average condition - some areas this of grass, although the rough was pretty shaggy. Pace was typical for a hot afternoon. Quality of golf is about right for the green fees they charge.

Very interesting layout. Many up and down holes with banks and hollows. Back nine more scenic and unusual with forced carries over quarry chasms. Fairways were generally OK, firm as usual in Arizona. Wind varies all over the course in speed and influence on shots. Greens in pretty good shape, but also firm so tough to get close to pins. Greens have a lot of banks, slopes, terraces and are difficult to read. It was a bit slow, but fun overall and a good value for price paid on a holiday.
