Olivas Links Golf Course
Played On 03/05/2018Golf Cart issues
I want to advise everyone who wants to play Olivas links and wishes to use a cart, I would seriously consider playing another course. Here is the reason. The carts are old and the batteries are shot and I mean shot.
I went thru 2 carts before the 17th hole. The first cart lasted until the 10th green and died, then 5 holes later the 2nd cart died. The City of Ventura now has extended the Leases on them will not get new carts for another year or so. I would hate to guess how long it will be before the batteries will be changed out.
It is a shame and it not the way a golf course should be run. Almost everyone I have spoken with has had the similar situation, even the employees stated their carts have died too. The sad part of this is, the cart guys have to continuously change out the carts. Not good I sincerely hope this message gets to Eric Burton's attention and take aggressive action to correct this massive problem. We will not play there until this problem has been corrected. This will cost the City of Ventura $$$$ if the local golfers stop playing the course. Don't get me wrong I love the course and the layout but when you have to push a cart from the green to the next tee that is not a good example of a great golf course
Tierra Rejada Golf Club
Played On 12/11/2017As many of the golf courses in the nation, Tierra Rejada is facing financial hurdles and they are doing a great job maintaining the course and keeping the course in good playing condition
Rustic Canyon Golf Course
Played On 10/31/2017The fairways were in good shape, the greens were quick 11-12 and difficult pin position for the most part.
It was hard to get the correct pace on the putts as the pins were placed near a slope or near the top of the slope. 2 putts were very acceptable, most of my partners were 3 putting every green
Los Robles Greens Golf Course

Played On 07/29/2015The Dune's course is a good track !
While visiting Illinois I had the opportunity to play the course the reviews were favorable and they didn't lie. I enjoyed every hole and the rolling hills made the course a great lay out. The landing areas were generous, but you must keep your ball out of the tree lines. Trees a mature and will knock your ball down. The greens all ran true and were in good shape. ON my next trip to Illinois I will include another round or two at the Dune's
Sterling Hills Golf Club
Played On 09/08/2014Transitional State and needs time
Presently the course is going to Bermuda grass so lots of patches and roped off areas, the greens were good and rolled true, some of the tee boxes need to be leveled it was tough to find a flat spot to tee off. My GPS would not boot up, so be sure to check before teeing off. There are several holes which have some major changes so expect some dirt piles in the middle of the fairway
Tierra Rejada Golf Club
Played On 05/21/2014Blind shots and challenging
The 1st hole is a long par 5 into the wind to start your round and narrows with a water hazard next to the green. There are lots of holes that will challenge your abilities and with the wind to add a little more difficulty, it is one of those courses that you really want to come back and play. Greens were in good shape and the ball rolled very well.
