Forest Creek Golf Club
Played On 07/02/2019Trail fee?
Our 2-some had 2 complimentary Green Fee vouchers from the course itself. The voucher stated the cart fee would be charged at check-in. Ok, no problem, thats usually how it goes at most courses. Then, the employee said it would be $20 for a cart. Not $20 total, $20 per person for one cart. My buddy paid his $20 and told me i had to go inside to pay the cart fee as well. I told the guy that I decided to just walk the round instead of using a cart. He then said I would still be subjected to a $20 "trail fee". Whatever, I paid the $20, not a big deal, but the website has no reference to a trail fee. Has anyone ever heard of a cart costing $20 PER PERSON?? thats bad form in my opinion..
Grey Rock Golf Club
Played On 09/04/2018Good, could be great
I enjoy this golf course. Pretty much everything about this course is just as good or better than any other public course in the Austin area. Brand new putting green is huge and gorgeous. Course is always in good shape. The employees are always helpful and friendly. I would definitely come here 4-5 times per week as opposed to 1-2 times per week if they would simply allow to hit off the grass at the driving range instead of the fake turf mats. They only allow hitting off grass area on saturdays and sundays. When a round costs upward of $50-60, you would think they would be able to afford the labor/supplies to tend to repair of driving range divots. All other courses in the area you can hit practice balls off of real grass, 7 days a week. Kizer/Clay, Plum Creek, Onion Creek, Bluebonnet Hill are all examples and are less costly. Huge issue for me and probably many other golfers who try to improve their golf game on a regular basis.
Roy Kizer Golf Course
Played On 01/27/2016Very Slow Pace of Play
I enjoy playing both courses here, especially Roy Kizer. The staff needs to do something about the pace of play. I was on track to play a 6 hour round of golf due to a single ahead of me who was playing upwards of three balls at a time. That is ridiculous if you asked me. I didn't see a marshall at all during the round to enforce the rules of play. I recommend this course, but not if I continue to see these 6 hour rounds.
Grey Rock Golf Club
Played On 01/10/2016Course in great condition
Saved a good amount of $ by reserving this "hot deal" . Course is in great condition, and staff is always very nice and helpful. Probably one of the nicer courses in the greater Austin area. Not a very long course, even from the blue tees. I wish more courses around this area had this type of layout (many dog-legs, and short drive-able par 4 holes), allows one to be more creative in shot selection compared to most courses in area. Hopefully, Grey Rock will eventually lower their greens fees in the near future for non-members, which is the main reason I haven't tee'd it up there more often.
Thanks for leaving a review. Our Trail fee of $19 plus tax is fairly standard in the industry for golf courses in our competitive sect. Sorry it may have seemed exorbitant to you but most courses charge per seat, not per cart. Hopefully you enjoyed your round of golf. Thanks.
