TPC Sawgrass - THE PLAYERS Stadium Course
Played On 10/10/2017Play where the pro's play!
What more can you expect from a course on the PGA Tour schedule..even better, the home of THE PLAYERS! As a 6 handicap, the course looked visually intimidating off of the tee boxes with narrow fairways and bunkers strategically located in the fairways and around the greens. You can find yourself in some strange spots requiring a miracle to get up & down.
I made par on 16, 17 and 18 which exceeded my goal for the day, which was to make par on 17.
The off course amenities are amazing, like the free engraving of the bag tag, water and of course the clubhouse. Food was great and staff were extremely friendly.
I can't wait to go back and play this course again.
Tranquilo Golf Club at Four Seasons Resort Orlando
Played On 07/30/2017Fair..but Challenging, in Great Condition!
My first time playing Tranquilo was amazing...with the exception of the weather. It rained the entire round but that didn't stop us from playing this fantastic course. The conditions were great, the greens rolled exceptionally fast considering they were very wet.
Finishing on a par 3 is another interesting experience...hitting a 190 yard 5 iron over water with a front left pin can be intimidating. Aim to the right side (where the pros would miss) and draw the ball, you'll be just fine.
All in all, I will definitely be back! The staff made for a great experience and who doesn't want a fresh scented towel after the round?!
ChampionsGate Country Club
Played On 07/03/2017Extremely Fair Layout in Excellent Condition
For my first time playing the course, I was extremely pleased. Even though the greens were punched, they held decent speed and rolled true.
The layout was very fair with wide landing areas. Very easy to keep the ball in play, even though the primary rough held a slight penalty for missing the fairway.
We ran into a freak storm towards the end of the round which allowed for some great photo opportunities. We did our best to remain safe and still finish the round.
The clubhouse is a trailer and the cart barn is a tent so there is room from improvement on amenities but I understand they're building a neighborhood and that becomes priority. Plus it allows for them to keep the course up to its current standards.
All in all, we had a fantastic day and I really enjoyed the layout. I'll definitely be back!
The Golden Bear Club at Keene's Point
Played On 04/29/2017Always Fantastic!
I've had the opportunity to play this course multiple times and it's always great! Fair off the tee but challenging when you miss in the wrong spots. The staff, course conditions and facilities are top notch!
Stonemont at Stone Mountain Golf Course
Played On 04/21/2017A Bobby Jones Delight
From the moment we arrived on property, I knew we were in for a treat! Being from Florida, there are typical "Florida" layouts and I knew this was nothing of the sort. With rolling hills and breathtaking views, the course provides unlimited photo opportunities with Stone Mountain in the background. The layout has "Augusta" like features that are found throughout Jones' designs.
Everything seems to break towards the mountain and being unfamiliar with the course, I found myself in some precarious spots. I'd love another crack at this course now that I've played it and have a feel for club selections.
The pace of play was fantastic early in the morning and everyone was extremely friendly. We'll most certainly be back on our next trip to Stone Mountain Park.
Deer Island Country Club
Played On 04/16/2017Great Course with a Unique Layout
I've heard about this course but never had a chance to play it. I'm sure glad I did. The layout is challenging with water on every hole. If you tend to spray the ball, bring lots of them. This course sets up for placement golf where landing the ball in the right spot is critical. I didn't hit too many drivers making sure I found the fairway.
The course was in good shape and the greens rolled well. If you end up above the hole putts are extremely fast.
All in all, I'll definitely be back.
The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
Played On 04/09/2017Nice greens, rest of the course needs some love
I've played this course multiple times and I have to say that this is the worst I've seen in. The saving grace was that the greens were in good shape, had great speed and ran true. That made the fact that the rest of the course was in really bad shape bearable.
Harmony Golf Preserve
Played On 03/26/2017Great Day at Harmony
Course was in great shape and the pace of play was excellent early in the morning. Players note - the greens are still relatively new and extremely firm, play to the front and expect a clubs worth of bounce/roll.
Juliette Falls
Played On 02/19/2017Fantastic Hidden Gem
Being from Orlando, I had heard wonderful things about this course and it didn't disappoint. The greens were in fantastic shape and extremely fast. Make sure you hit to the correct tiers or you're in for a roller coaster ride. The only downside and the reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is the pace of play was dreadfully slow. All in all, it made for a great day. It's a shame this course is so far from Orlando or I'd definitely be back!
Isleworth Country Club
Played On 02/09/2017Simply Amazing
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to play Isleworth and jumped at the chance. The practice facilities are spectacular and the course was fantastic.
The course can be extremely difficult if you find yourself in the wrong locations so listen to your caddie. Our caddie had tips that saved your round from disaster...because disaster can lurk around every corner here. Being shortsided can result in an immediate double bogey or worse, so use your caddie.
Having lunch afterwards allowed us to see the clubhouse and soak in the history. You never know what tour pro you'll see sitting there having lunch.
All in all, if you have the chance, play this gem!

Played On 12/18/2016French Lick Resort - The Donald Ross Course
Played On 02/17/2016Wonderful Design with Challenging Greens
The course was in perfect shape, you'd have to look really hard to find a blemish. One thing to note is how challenging the green complexes can be. Make sure you play the correct tees and miss your approach shots in the right spots or it will be a tough day with the flat stick. I highly recommend playing both courses if you have the change, you won't regret it!
French Lick Resort - The Pete Dye Course
Played On 02/17/2016Breathtakingly Beautiful
The course couldn't be more beautiful! This course was on my bucket list to play as I'd heard wonderful things about it. I'm glad I made the trip as the views were stunning and the course was in perfect shape. As noted below in other reviews, playing the correct tees will make your day even more enjoyable. The course is challenging but straightforward with little "tricks". I appreciate that from a design standpoint.
