Longleaf Golf & Family Club
Played On 09/29/2015Course under construction
I wish Golfnow would reveal at the time of booking that the course is under a major renovation. Give the extent of the construction, I was shocked that the course is still open to play. Most of the tee boxes have been moved to almost the middle of fairways. From the tips, the course is playing less than 5000 Yds. There is a temporary green on the 18th hole at the 150 yd marker.
I have played this course earlier in the year and it's not a bad course for the money. However, I would stay away right now for aleast the remainder of the year when all the construction is completed.

Played On 09/29/2015Serious drainage problems
This course is not maintained to the reputation of its designer, Donald Ross. The course has serious drainage problems, not helped bu majority of the holes not having a cart path. Frankly, it does not do justice to Donald Ross. If one is looking to spend $70 on a round, I would highly recommend Talamore. The only positive feature of the course are the greens, which rolled well and true.

Played On 4/12/2013Wet wet wet!
Very nice layout with a good balance of left and right dog legs as well as well bunkered and undulated greens. However, this course has always had a reputation for its wet areas and drainage problems. Despite the newly laid greens and fine sand in bunkers, I am afraid almost all of the tee boxes are wet and slippery.
