Great condition and great value

Course was in excellent shape. Friendly staff.

However, there are a ton of blind shots on this course...I was sent out alone, and playing the course for the first time it was very difficult to know where to hit. And then when play backed up, it was very difficult to know when you can hit without hitting into the group ahead. And the number of uphill shots was more than I cared for.

Great Course

Played in late Dec, course is still in great condition despite the dormant fairways. Greens were absolutely perfect, rolled true, fast, and relatively flat.

Was first to tee off at 9am as a single, so pace was perfect. Only saw a few others a couple times, otherwise the course was all mine.

I found it a difficult walk, however. Several holes have long walks in between- a few on the front side, but especially between the 12th and 13th. And the walk from the 16th tee to the fairway was brutal having to go around the cove and up the hill. I don't walk very often in this part of the country, and this is usually the reason why.

But the staff was friendly, had a nice chat with one of the maintenance guys prior to teeing off. A great layout and conditions - will definitely make a return visit.

Fantastic course

Don't let the short yardage on the card fool you. You will be tested here. Course played much longer due to the wet conditions, and green speeds were moderate - which was a blessing. Play this course in dry conditions, with fast greens, and par on any hole is an excellent score.

In addition to the great history of the course, beautiful views, and challenging golf- the staff and members whom I met were absolutely the best. Extremely kind, generous, and hospitable to visitors. I was treated like royalty. Cavendish has given me a day to remember forever - and I played in miserable conditions of wet, cold, windy weather...and had a great time.

Simply a must-play if you are in the central UK.

Great Course

Sunday morning 8:40 time, very little play. Pace was outstanding (twosome finished under 3 hrs)

Great conditions on the tees and fairways. Greens were rolling nicely, only complaint is it appears there are many unrepaired ballmarks (certainly not the fault of course mgmt.)

Will definitely be back!

Beautiful course

Have been wanting to play this course for some time, and found an unbelievable Hot Deal for a Monday afternoon round.

Course is in great shape with the recent rains.

Greens running true. There was one or two that seemed to have a small portion with some disease, but nothing significant. One hole on back was cart-path only, and fairway seemed to be a little mushy. All other fairways were in great shape.

I expected this to be the typical N. Georgia mountain course with many elevation changes, but that's not the case. Opening hole has some significant elevation, but after that it plays somewhat level, but with some rolling mounds. Lots of bunkers, some water and a nice mixture of wide-open tee shots and a few tighter holes.

Was paired with 1 other gentleman, and we basically had the course to ourselves with a 1:50pm tee time. Finished in less than 3 hours.

Staff was extremely friendly.

All in all a great course. May be the most picturesque course I've played in Georgia in 30 years. Will definitely be back.

Great golf course

Tee to green is in fantastic shape. Greens rolling perfectly. Some blind spots/hazards that require local knowledge, and GPS was wrong on one hole on front (par 5, # 5 or 6 which had 2 greens), but overall a great course.

Had a 7:03 am time, and was let off as a single as the twosome I was to be paired with had not shown. Finished before 10am.

Will definitely be back.
