St. Johns Golf & Country Club
Played On 06/20/2019Love playing here when I visit
It rained for a good 3-5 hours the day we played and we showed up for drinks not expecting to play. Rain slowed asked to go out as we had a 4 man as I was back for vacation. They let us out and it's amazing how much water this course can take and how well it drains. I expected to play in a swamp but there were only a few minor places that weren't play able but the green were still fast.
Best course in the area, if you find a hot deal under $40 nothing compares.
Water on most holes, have to play smart
Fast Greens, (plugged around 6/06/19)
This is a must visit when I visit the area.
Legacy Golf Course
Played On 05/27/2019Above Average Course for current conditions
Call the course and book your tee time, GolfNow doesn't give you any discount. You pay more $ just for convenience. Many of the courses in the area are struggling this season with missing fairways, etc.
The fairways aren't crisp and green as the nice courses but they're at least filled in. I've played a few courses this year where there is dirt throughout the fairs and this didn't seem to be the case here.
Greens are normally in above average condition as well. Firm, ball didn't stick very well but consistent across all 18.
I'd play this over other courses in the area based on current conditions at this time. Course can play moderate to hard based on weather conditions as it's not uncommon to have 10-30mph winds which makes some par 4s/5s a task.
Far Oaks Golf Club
Played On 07/07/2018Always in the Top 3 in the area to play
Overall it's the course to play when you want a good outing. Rarely is this course is bad condition, if it is other are much worse.
Haven't played in a few years, they removed the GPS from the charts. Not a show stopper by any means.
If you are a weekly golfer, I suggest playing the BLUEs, the WHITE tees are very short. They are listed at 5600ish but they seem to play closer to around 5400.
I used 4, 5 and 6 iron off the WHITE tees 80%. My second shot after that were only 150-170 out after starting with irons. *why i said seems shorter*
Great course to learn how to play smart, if you pull a driver or wood out each tee box you can get into trouble quickly make this a *challenging course*
If you play smart golf it's a *moderate course*.
Thank you so much for your review! Glad you enjoyed your round with us. Hope to see you again soon -- this time, hopefully in the sunshine!
