Played this course over the years through good and bad. Recent reviews have been somewhat scathing.

Having just played falcons fire I decided to check it out again for myself.

The greens were fast and very well maintained with new shiny poles and pots with very few pitch marks, unlike falcons which full of unnecessary pitch marks regardless of the through traffic difference.

The fairways were cut short. The bunkers were deep raked. The tee boxes were ranged from good to poor.

For the time of year some of the rough was scruffy.

Overall this course will test your golf skills which is why the slope /rating is high.

The owners continue to invest resources into this course, the more it’s played the more they invest. The course staff are dedicated.

Yes some of the rough is very rough and some tee boxes are poor Ignore the negative reviews about this course it’s exceptional value for money.

Execeptionally cold weather due to the bomb cyclone delaying start.

I was 2nd starting off the tee so corse should have been at its best condition for the time of year.

Sadly all of the greens were suffering from lots of pitch marks and I mean lots, from lazy golfers playing on the course during the week before and playing lip service to the golden rule, repair your own plus one more.

Check in staff shouldn’t have to remind golfers.

Otherwise a lovely course to play with postage stamp greens to test your approach shots.

I’ve played this course with and without friends on various times and dates over the last 10 years.

This time at 7-52 am with just a covering of due that disappeared after a few holes. Tee boxes and greens in good nick. Groundsmen working well.

Special mention goes to the man from Guyana who looks after the carts. Giving the cart an extra clean before I used it and even takes golfers back to their cars.

I played this course in august and my drive on the 4th ended up in the centre of a large flooded area, a foot deep.
The young woman green keeper was working on the course and just waded thigh deep into the middle of the pool of water and retrieved my ball.

I read the most recent reviews prior to playing the course.

Well someone must have found the genie of the lamp and got at least one wish before I played the course.

I last played it in January and it’s still beautifully manicured.

Cart path on 2 isn’t a s big deal however beware when you request range balls from the machine because you get sprayed with them.

Forget the reviews just play the course

despite the recently very dry weather this course is in very good condition.

Got stuck very early behind 3 frustratingly slow resident members who refused to call me through whilst I was playing on my own.

Eventually I had had enough and skipped passed them on the 13th as did the couple behind me who advised me that tHey and their extended group are well known for this lack of etiquette

No course Marshall to sort them out

Next time I play I will check their whereabouts first

Well designed course. Very testing in the wind. Greens lightening fast when compared to lots of other courses. Beautiful silky sand in the bunkers. Had to travel a distance to get there but well worth the journey time to play here.

New owners replaced the greens

Seeding was a short term measure for the Tee boxes they really need replacing. Or no problem if you play off the blues.

Good value but course will take time to recover 100%

Ignore the conditions if you can play here you can play anywhere.

Lots of resources being spent to improve course

If I owned a golf course i would want my workers to be like the staff at Oaks National.

They have to be totally dedicated to have got this course back to somewhere near it’s best.

Best value for your dollar

Other courses need to take a lead from the dedicated ground staff at Oaks National. They have been working tirelessly trying to bring this courses back to its near best all year. So clearing up after IRMA was just another day at the office for them. Well done to the owners, the staff take a lead from you both always friendly and helpful. It's a pleasure to play here.

The new owners have transformed this course by investing in those areas that were left to rot by previous owners. By replacing greens, manicuring the rest of the course progressively. They are tending to the tee boxes next. All it needed was TLC and it now gets it with dedicated people in all departments.

Greenery has been well pruned back to show good management and care

A must to play for any golfer to be sure. I prefer the int course

The course was in excellent shape considering lots of rain the day before
