Foothills Golf Club
Played On 01/03/2024It's been awhile since I played this course and never as a Troon property. I have always loved the layout and it's in my backyard but the course conditions have always been disappointing. Greens and Fairways are great after Troon took ownership. Pace of play was very good and the course marshals were very visible. The aesthetics on the back 9 (walls with chipped paint and sloppy desert areas) could still use some work. Overall though my round was great! .
Ocotillo Golf Club - White/Gold
Played On 09/18/2021Tough track but in great shape
Didn’t score well but the fairways, greens and rough were great. Traps were well sanded. Turf in the tee boxes was a little long. All in all a challenging but fun round.
Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
Played On 08/22/2021Challenging but a tough off the fairway.
Greens and fairways were in great shape. The rough was impossible…thick, long, and ball swallowing. Not a fun round from that standpoint. I may come back in the winter but only after they groom a little bit more.
Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club

Course was in great shape! Greens were better than expected and just a few days after being punched. We had a great time!
Coronado Golf Course

First time on this course and chose it because I was with my kids who are beginning golfers. We had fun although I was surprised that there weren't the normal Covid protections found at all the other course I played in the valley....weren't allowed to rent a cart as a single, only took cash (most prefer touchless transactions like credit cards), rakes were on the course and in the traps,. cups weren't protected using foam plugs, etc. We played it like the protections were there but were surprised the course didn't make any effort.
All in all a fun time but I won't be back unless the course takes protecting it's clientele more seriously.

Haven’t been here in a year and the course didn’t disappoint. It was in great shape all the way around (we played the north course). Pace of play was excellent and the staff was great! A perfect summer golf experience!!

I booked Frei’s course and was suspended to see so many open tee times for a Sunday afternoon. When my friend and I got there we discovered 6 cars in the parking lot, the clubhouse locked up, and burnt out fairways and dirt greens on the 9th and 10th holes. There was a starter who refused to take our money because the course was in such bad shape. The water had been shut off for the previous 4 weeks and almost no employees were there. I felt bad for my partner who drove 30 miles to get to this bankrupt course. GolfNow needs to show this course as closed. Terrible!
