This course was one of the best in the state of NJ. Now it is a shell of what used to be. The staff were not very helpful or welcoming. For 100 dollars a player I would expect a more personable staff. The starter seemed more worried about his fantasy football team than getting people off on time. 10:20 tee time and we teed off at 10:40 because a group was late. Courses I play normally you are late you loose your time.

When it comes to the condition of the course there were semblances of what used to be a well maintained course. Tee boxes were over grown, over watered, and the par 3 tees were beat up. The picture shows sand/seed mix is a lacking in the budget. Fairways had spots that were washed out then burnt out. Finally the greens had good speed, but it was impossible to trust a line being no one fixed pitch marks. The fact that the greens had so many marks baffles me seeing we haven’t had significant rain in months. Two other worthy notes major evidence of reckless grounds staff two greens has tread marks from an machine that cut the Turf and there might be cutter worms. Again evidence that the course has not been treated.

While I played great and shot 75 with 3 Birdies, I will not be back. A five hour round and poor course conditions for $100 it is not worth it. Plenty of other options in the area at a much better value.

Played yesterday for the NJ Fourball qualifier and I was completely embarrassed by this place. The course punched the green in advance of a championship qualifier. The staff failed to notify the state of this and upon arrival we were expected to compete. The layout of the course was complete serve and volly for the front nine. The back had a not so bad hand full of fun holes. Amazing that a team broke par with the course condition and set up! I expect much more from the NJSGA and for the members at the course I have no idea how you play this place all the time. I would never again look to play Burlington even if the round was free.

This was the first time that I have played Old Orchard in 2 years and it has gone from bad to terrible. The one bright spot were the greens on the course. They rolled well and were in above average playable shape. The rest of the fairways are patchy and the rough is being taken over with weeds. The pace of play was brutal as we saw two groups of 8 playing hole together. YES I said eight! It looked like a chariot race when the groups went to find their second shots. It took 2:45 to play nine holes which is pathetic. Old orchard has stolen the last dollars from me forever! One can hope new management who appreciates a golfing experience will take over at some point!
