The course was very wet today due to the excessive rain over the last several weeks. The course was in great shape and the greens rolled true.
This is a great course which does not get a lot of uses and s great course to practice/ play without worrying about disruption of other foursomes.

SH is a great course in eastern NC. I've played it about a dozen times since moving back to NC several months ago. It reminds me of the nicer golf courses around Pinehurst.
The course is always in great condition and the layout can give you as much as you want. Just pick your tee box for a lengthy challenge or shorter tee box according to your handicap. Greens are always fast but putt true. I love the course because it is comparable to some of the nicest golf courses I've played all over US ( Torrey Pines, Kapula, ) but without paying a hundred bucks or more.
The course hugs Albemarle sound so it can get windy on a few holes but the views are scenic.
The green fees are very reasonable and the practice area is really nice. The guys in the Pro shop are very friendly and helpful. The course amenities are like a high priced golf course but are free at Scotch Hall.

The course is amazing and just long. It is a fair course and not too tricky to play the first time by myself. The staff at the club are friendly and customer focused. I'm going back tomorrow to play again, you just can't beat the hot deal rate at Golfnow.com
I can't remember a single bad lie and the fairways are perfect, even the first cut is a good lie to hit from. The greens were a little quick for me and missed read a few putts but they are also in great shape.
The 18 hole Palmer course is only $50-60 and I'ld say it is well worth it.
Thank you for your nice comments regarding the great shape our course is in at Scotch Hall.
