It’s very much a placement course. Water on almost every hole, if not every hole. Luckily we were paired with a couple of women that were members and were able to guide us around the course. Great service and staff!

I've played California many times, it has quite a few challenging holes. On Friday the pin placement was quite difficult making even some of the easier holes difficult. The course was in pretty good shape, however the greens had been aerated recently so the greens were very tricky.

I see they have now dropped the price to $19.00, when we played it was $35.00. We knew the course had recently been overseeded so it would be cart path only, however we didn't know the back 9 would be a swamp. The front 9 was ok, the greens could have used some work, but the back 9 came very close to being unplayable. When we complained we were told they had 10 inches of rain that week, well we were there the whole week and it was not 10 inches of rain. We were told to come back in October and it would be in great shape, I would be sure to call and ask about the condition before golfing there again.

We have played Deer Run many times, the course has some tough holes, lots of trees, lots of hills, but it's very playable. The people are always very friendly and get you off at your tee time. It was pretty crowded when we played, first 70 degree day of the year, but we still managed to get in 18 in 4 hours.
