Country Club Experience!

The country club experience started as soon as I arrived in the parking lot. As I exited my car, the cart staff was there with a cart and loaded my golf bag for me. Can't remember the last time that happened at a public golf course. Upon checking in for my tee time, I told them this was my first time playing Olde Sycamore and they provided me with a course yardage book which was a nice touch. The golf course was well maintained, leaves were blown off fairways and greens. The greens held shots, rolled true and had some speed. Some of the tees were sparse, but then again it is December! Good course layout, challenging enough and enjoyable to play. Definitely will be returning to play again! Good bang for the buck!!!

Hills and dales and dog-legs

Full disclosure: First time playing any golf course is a challenge, but this course has a number of blind shots from the blue tees. This is not a bad thing, but makes club selection difficult when you are guessing distances and direction. The course layout is fun. Lots of elevated tees, hitting into elevated greens with the occasional blind dogleg. Course condition was good, greens held shots and rolled true. Fairways were well maintained. Only hit one sand shot, but looked like the bunkers needed some loving. Overall, it was a fun day, enjoyable round of golf and look forward to teeing-it-up again at King Mountain. Good bang for the buck!

Big Bang for your Buck!

I may be old school, but I rate golf courses based on the overall bang (value) for your dollar spent. Course layout is beautiful and challenging. Course conditions still early spring, but improving each week. Greens are firm and roll true and fast for this time of year. Bunkers are well maintained. Inside and outside staff are pleasant and helpful. And beverages are cold. You would be hard pressed to find a better golf course in the Charlotte area to equal the "Bang for your Buck".

Worth the Drive!!!

Indian Springs has always been on my "Favorite to Play" list. The course layout has a good balance between challenging and playable at the same time. There are a number of beautiful holes framed through the trees, great elevation changes from tee to green, rolling fairways and doglegs (left and right). Each hole has its own identity and I play them in my head after the round (kudos to the course architect). If you are looking to play a course that asks you to play different clubs in your bag, instead of the typical public track - "Driver/Wedge". Then Indian Springs should be on your play list this season. It is well worth the drive, great bang for the buck!!!

Good Bang for your Buck!

For those golfers that have not played Delaware Golf Club in years, now might be a good time to tee it up. I rate courses based on Bang for your Buck and Delaware offers Good Value!
The course was in good condition, greens were excellent - rolled true and held shots. Played from the tips and enjoyed the layout. Good design blend of old and new (Donald Ross/Hurdzan). Country club experience without the membership dues. I will be teeing it up here again!
