Hilaman Park Municipal Golf Course
Played On 01/14/2017Affordable and Well Conditioned Course close to Downtown
The turf conditions are really good all around. Grass is green fairways and rough are well manicured. Most of the greens are firm and smooth. There is a restaurant on site. The only downside is the side of the driving range. As a result, you cannot use your driver on the range, but there are grass tees and it is also in good condition. All of this for 25 dollars on the weekdays and 40 on the weekends, I'll take it.
Great Southern Golf Club
Played On 07/02/2016Decent and Beautiful course
Tees were great. Fairways were very good. With the exception of 7 the greens were pretty smooth and grown. Greens are square and tiny, so approach shots are tough. The best part of the course is that it is right along the Mississippi sound, so you get great views. The course is also divided by railroad tracks and there are also 3 par 5's in a row on the back 9.
Gulf Hills Golf Club
Played On 07/01/2016Decent Resort Course
This course is right across the hotel we stayed in. The first and last are drivable from the back tees. The course is okay. The day we played the course, the greens and fairways were wet and every approach and tee shot just plugged. For an old course, it is decent for the price.
Small but strategic course
Bobby Jones is less than 600 yards. However, you have to be very strategic to do well of the course. The condition of the course was great. Greens were smooths and the grass was lush everywhere. My friend and I played 18 holes and it was nice to walk. The only issue with the course is there is no driving range. There are plans to make it a reversible 9 with a driving, but I think it is fine the way it is. Another thing is the close are very close together, so if you have not played the course it could be confusing. However, we did have a fun time.
Classic layout
Bobby Jones is an older type of course. It is 18 holes and par 70. The course is less than 6000 yards, but it requires lots of strategy and thinking. The grass around the course is lush and the greens are pretty smooth. The layout is confusing, but acceptable for a course this small. When using the GPS, 1 is 10 on the GPS and 10 is 1 etc. The only problem with the course is no driving range, but there is no space for it. There is just a chipping/putting green. In the end, I would return to play again.
Cross Creek Golf Club
Played On 05/01/2016Worst Greens to Putt ON
This course is 18 hole par 3 course. The holes are very similar and short. However, the greens are not mowed down properly making them slow and bumpy. I had several birdie putts that went to the hole and just stopped. Definitely not worth 17 dollars. I would not even play it for free.
Cross Creek Golf Club
Played On 05/01/2016Terrible Greens
Played 18 holes with friends. All par 3. Longest is 143 yards and shortest is 70 yards Greens are the worst I have ever putted on. Definitely not worth 17 dollars. I would not even play it again for free.
Fox Creek Golf Club
Played On 04/08/2016Improving quickly
Fox creek is an executive course with many par 3s and few par 4s. The course is currently under new management, so it is undergoing some changes. Some of the changes are already great, for example the fairways are more lush. The bunkers are currently being redone, but in a few months the course will look great. Just give it time.
RiverPines Golf Course
Played On 04/07/2016Nice course to play
River pines is a great course for anyone to play. It tough on the first time to understand the layout, but we had two playing partners who played it before. I would like to come again and try it out again.
Bear's Best Atlanta
Played On 04/04/2016Excellent Time and World Class
Bears Best is a collection of 18 holes from Jack Nicklaus designed courses. The first time my dad and I played it in January was almost unplayable due to the rain. We got a rain checked and were very pleased to use it. The condition of the course is the best I seen. I would love to return.
Legacy Golf Links
Played On 04/03/2016Improving course conditions
Legacy is an executive course with many par 3s and few par 4s. The course is currently under new management, so it is undergoing some changes. Some of the changes are already great, for example the fairways are more lush. The bunkers are currently being redone, but in a few months the course will look great. The greens are the best to putt on in the Atlanta area. This course will be in prime condition during the summer months.
Chastain Park Golf Course
Played On 09/20/2015Ok Course in Atlanta
Course conditions are average. The layout could be confusing if you are a first timer. It will be a good course to get a proper round of golf in.
Echelon Golf Club
Played On 08/01/2015New golf course that is great
This course just opened up to the public. The clubhouse is just a trailer. But the course is one of the best to play in Atlanta. It is very challenging for the average golfer and requires multiple rounds in order to get better scores. However, I would highly recommend this course to anyone in the Atlanta area.
The Golf Club At Bradshaw Farm - Red Nine
Played On 07/22/2015Great course
This is one of the best public courses in Atlanta. The only thing I would complain about is the sandy greens on the white nine. Otherwise, this course is a must play for golfers in Atlanta.
Glenlakes Golf Club - Vista/Dunes Course
Played On 06/30/2015Awesome course for a vacation
Turf of the golf course resembled that of a championship. Golf cart had issues, but was given a new one right away. Vista is like a normal layout, Dunes is like a links. Weather turned nasty at the beginning of Dunes, but it was a great golfing experience for a vacation.
Thank you for your review! We are so happy that you made it back to play our course. We look forward to seeing you back again soon for another round!
