Te staff did all they could do but you can't fix these issues. The greens have a blend of grass/weed/dirt to provide putting surfaces. The edge of cups show that the cups have been in same location for 3 + days. The guys I played with traveled here for past 3 years and they have never seen it in this bad of shape. Not sure what else to say- it seems like no money is being put into facility. The clubhouse was nice, attentive staff all around...this was a $30 course...with cart. The owners have set daily fee well below the market and now I can see why...... Now I am a Life member of PGA...I've got experience to back up my statements.

I gave u 5 stars because I wanted to but please give the players that start at 1:00 & beyond some reliable hope that they can finish. It’s not a big ask. The pro shop said “ no worries”.I asked the starter if we would have problem finishing- he said “ our pace is 4:15 so you will be fine. Also our ranger( he named him) is out there and he does a very good job.”
I know it was “cart path only” but take that should be taken into account in your time projections. Players feel cheated when they don’t get what they paid for thru no fault of their own. We played #17 with a minimal light & 18 in the dark as we all teed off at same time-now players drove by us heading in when we were on 17 tee….. we finished at 5:50.
Show some integrity & charge players a 9 hole rate from 1PM forward or what ever time necessary related to sunset if u can’t find a way to manage pace.Use 4:15 time for your calculations. Lord knows there is a wide array of skill out there but don’t “steal” from players that don’t deserve it. Let the players leave in the dark saying” man we got 16 holes in for 9 hole rate”…. Instead of the alternative.
By the way we never saw “THE RANGER” the entire day…you guys are better than this…..Don’t just kick the can down the road like every other course does… set yourself above the others…

Beautiful facility ….course is awesome-a true test of distance control with irons and short game prowess!!
Only criticisms is a pitiful landing zone on range & gravel in the bunkers…

Decided to play 36 today @ Lone Tree…started at 8:17 and finished at 12:50….badly in need of a ranger who will implement policy. When the 8 AM group takes over 4.5 hrs your stuck with it all day unless u have an event which luckily they had…the pro shop got me off at 1:03 instead of my original 1:57 time. I played in 4 hrs & 10 min. The starter’s name I believe was Stephanie. Tall blonde who I’m sure gets marriage proposals on a daily basis. This gal knew her job and did it very well. They took care of us in the shop and then this gal made it function extremely well! She really was the key.
Range balls were very good, the grill was well staffed and most importantly, Tommi, the Assistant PGA Professional, had a great personality and knowledge of the operation
The greens rolled very well… maybe 9-10 +, fairways and rough were plush considering the course is coming out of over seeding process. No question that you should put this course on your list!

I had the opportunity to play here 3 times in an 8 day span.I'll go to the biggest negative...the bunkers! Too much sand and with that comes the issue of trying to rake it properly! The ball can bounce 2-3 times then bounce into the bunker and still plug! I'd water the bunkers and try to get the sand to settle. May seem crazy to "water" the bunkers, but I played Bay Hill 1 week prior to Arnold Palmer Invitational and they were watering the bunkers to settle the sand and firm them up. High end courses do not have this caliber of bunkers/sand.
Now that does not deter me from giving it a 5 star rating. The facilities are wonderful-a good range-very nice restaurant-pleasant staff in shop and bag drop, please beverage cart staff, and fastest greens I've seen in quite some time. Now some would complain the greens are too fast (12-13 on stimpmeter) and too firm, but it creates a good challenge for a player that wants to improve.

I arrived a few days early for this tournament and was able to play a few practice rounds to prepare for the tournament start on the 17th. The staff was exceptional in the manner in which they greeted you and fulfilled your needs. The course was in excellent condition with the greens at exceptional speeds. Downhill I was told the greens ran at 14 with level putts around an 11. If you get the chance, play here as it is 27 holes and the starter does a wonderful job mixing and matching players. It also has a great range with the tee in excellent condition. Derek, the GM, runs a wonderful ship!!

We had opportunity to play other courses in the area but we opted to play here as I have an event here next year. My wife and I played it for 4 days and enjoyed every day. The staff, from "bag drop-off" staff thru the pro shop was friendly and very accommodating! The fairways were pure, the greens ran at a 11 or so stemp-wise, the bunkers were always raked and well maintained, the rangers and starters we perfect, the beverage cart was always there when you needed her AND the beer was ALWAYS COLD!
As far as difficulty is concerned, you cannot step
up on the tee not knowing if your going to hit a hook or a slice! The fairways are a fair width with not much with to the rough before you move into rattlesnake country! Keep in mind that the further you hit it-the wider the shot dispersion, etc.
The greens are the course's main defense. They have some good undulation and most greens slope back to front so try to stay below the hole. I loved the speed of the greens and the areas around the green make for easy pitch shots. Derek, the GM, was an awesome host and he should be proud of his staff!

What a great day and is this place a factory! The facility is very stream-lined to handle a massive amount of play. They also require a fore caddy to give you yardages and to keep up with the bunker maintenance on each hole.This does help maintain pace. The course was immaculate in it's overall condition. The greens looked somewhat discolored but rolled extremely fast and true. The ONLY criticism is that I went back to cart area after the cart staff had mentioned a 4 caddy was to be part of our group and asked the staff what is the tip amount for the 4caddy should be for him. I had not been told that it was required while in the Pro Shop. They said $25.00 + tip. I had no problem with fee structure. While we played we were told by someone in our group that IF you pay the $25.00 in the Pro Shop, the 4 caddy only gets $7.00 of the $25 + tip you would give him! We all decided to give him the full $25 each on 18 green and the Pro Shop can kiss our #*&*! That is awful for this kid to do a wonderful job and then get stiffed by the facility! Anyone know if this is true? We did not want to go to Shop and inquire and draw unnecessary attention to the young man who was wonderful.
Still a wonderful day and well run facility!

It was a great experience...I am with PGA so don't let the rate I paid influence you. My timing was perfect-there had been cold weather and this was one of the first good days so the course was empty on a perfect day. It was a beautiful day-no wind-sunny. The staff was warm and friendly as one would expect. I purchased a yardage book and promptly lost it before I got to 1st tee but the starters replaced it at no charge! There was only a 2some ahead of us..my wife was my non-playing cart caddy! This was a exceptional experience of course conditions. The greens were perfect and overall the best conditioned greens I have ever played on in my life. The warm up area is another wonderful asset to the Sea Island experience with it giving you a memorable view of the waterway. I can see why the PGA Tour plays here every year. If you need a lesson-see Daniel Gray-he is tremendous.

I had the opportunity to play Briggs Woods on Monday in an event. Here is my analysis...greens-moderately slow for me but in great condition...Bunkers-few but well maintained and good texture....fairways-a little long, but ok....the areas of concern to me was the condition of the tees that were in the wooded areas on back 9-they need to clear out some of the trees to allow air flow and sunlight to help develop those tees. We were teeing off on more dirt than grass. Cosmetically they need to clean up those ponds and creek areas as it showed a lack of maintenance and a lack of desire to make this a quality facility. Spend the cash or get out of the golf business and sell it to someone who will develop it properly. If I played this course I would be frustrated about maintenance rather than anything....it is a cute course that could be so much more.

We drew weather that was as special as this course...80 and low humidity! My buddy, John started out the round by getting a new bag at Caledonia while my wife and I sported new bonnets!!( See photo). We warmed up on True Blue's range which is a sister course to Caledonia and just a mile down the road. The range staff there even warned us that the True Blue putting green was a bit slower than Caledonia's greens so beware-now that's special treatment! We started on # 1 at 12:40 with very little traffic.....#1 runs down the side of the beautiful entry road while #10 runs on the other side of the road-just beautiful! The ladies loved the flowering and landscaping while I also loved the bunkering and how they were placed. I played the Pintail Tees(back)and it was awesome to view from the tee. There seemed to be plenty of room fairway-wise so that was great to see. The greens were about an 11 and were pure. My wife loved and was glad she decided to play it. It gives her, her 1st top 50 course in US for either men or women!
Nothing else to be said-play it if given the opportunity...spend the $$$ and "cash in" on the memories!! Special disclaimer-my buddy, John, paid for my green fee as well as my wife's!!!

This was a beautiful, well designed course that showed it's natural beauty! I posted a 74 from white tees and drove it poorly on 2 holes-back to back....on 5 I paid the price and had a DB and on 6 I hit the same shaped shot (right) but the bushes kicked it out and I made par. I did not miss any other fairways thus I loved the course-had I drove it poorly I'm sure I'd have another opinion! My wife really enjoyed it and although she is a barely a sub 100 player, she found it playable for her. There were so many design variations....a few of them seemed boring( 5 & 6) after some of the other holes (we played back 9 first) but it was all good! Greens were at about a 10 and fairways were pure. The starter was great and very informative of the policies. The shop staff was extremely cordial and beverage gals were smokin' ! . It needs to be played by anyone playing MB courses!

The practice facility may be better than the golf course-WOW! Seriously the facility was great-from the cart guys to the shop staff-to the starters. They all made you feel welcome to TPC/Myrtle Beach.We played with a father-son twosome and our wives got to go along at no-charge and we're our cheerleaders!! I played the whites while my buddy played the Senior tees. I putted poorly and I felt so guilty because those greens were pure! The greens rolled at about 10 and were perfect. There were a couple of holes where prior knowledge would make for a better choice off of the tee, but that is on me...not this place! Make sure you play it!!

I will take exception to the reviewers who would not recommend this course due to the greens.Yeah, the greens are rough but the design and shaping of the holes was great! The 9th and the 18th along the waterway was cool. The par 3-17th which was a great challenge into a bit of a breeze....I have no idea how an earlier reviewer could call this course gimmicky....if you want simple design and no need to think-play miniature
golf!! The shots I got to hit and the views I got to see-it was well worth it for greens that need some time to heal.Play it!!

I played with a HS friend of mine from the late '60's. He lives on the course and I visited him for the week and our 1st round was within an hour of our arrival. The course was in great shape...the bunkers were well maintained...greens rolled at a 9.5...rough was well maintained and fairways were closely groomed. Great course, staff and a pleasure to play......

I had played this course this spring in an event, but in a downpour so not much attention was payed to conditions other than to survive the day.The 4th was a bit toasty with no wind-a nice day. The fairways were in good condition...the greens had some burn spots but rolled very well. One of the greens had some vandalism but was recovering. There was some visible work being done on the course. I'd play it again and I'd recommend it.

I had opportunity to play the Ridge 6 times over a 6 day span, starting on the 9th of June. I had qualified from Iowa for the 64-69 age group to be played at the Ridge. This was for the 2017 National Senior Olympics. Overall the course was gorgeous and very scenic to say the least. The greens had been aerified a few days prior but they rolled around a 10, I would guess, and they were no issue.A great putting surface. The greens tore up a bit with pitch marks but you get that from bent grass greens. The staff from top to bottom were excellent for the 6 days I visited. I would agree that shots off line were a challenge to recover and we only played it at 5,700 yards. The pace of play was brutal, but you had no real marshaling by the NSGA who would dictate the pace, not the facility management so they are off the hook on that issue. I based my 5 star rating on Pace of Play based on my 3 rounds prior to tournament. The rule sheet said slow play would not be tolerated over 4:20 rounds, yet the early groups finished in 5:30 hours and it got to 6:30 hrs for the last groups because I was in the last group on the last day. The ONLY negative on this facility are the bunkers. They are well below the standard this facility deserves! When you couple too much sand which is too soft and players who can't rake properly you have a nightmare to play out of regardless if it is tournament play or not. To add to the issue were steep faces to the bunkers which adds to difficulty of raking them properly. As a player, you can not devote the time necessary to rake these properly and still play at a decent pace. The facility is awesome and I would never let those bunkers stop me from coming back but they need to fix them. You could take 70% of the sand out of the bunkers, have great bunkers, and have enough sand for top dressing your greens for the next 2 years, but only if that same sand could be used! :))

A fun course to play and can seem intimidating at first with problems either side, but the fairways are generous and some rough then trouble starts! Greens roll at about 11...maybe 12...the bunkers are well maintained. We play it at about 6,600 or so. Knowing which side you tend to miss it on is a big help....if you have a 2 way miss going-bring more ammo....

My wife, son & I played Mt Ogden on our visit to see our son & his wife. I read reviews and my son thought this would be a brutal test as his wife would not play it. My wife was scared after talking to his wife.....upon our arrival Todd B., the PGA Professional welcomed us and we had a nice chat about this mountainous track.... Not long with back tees at about 6,400 yards....but demanding..... I played the tips and throughly enjoyed the varied elevations, the complexity of reading the greens where you always need to know where Mt Ogden is located in relation to the cup. The greens were in excellent shape, cart paths in great condition, the GPS on the carts were spot on with fairway yardage markers. Then there is the challenge necessary to find the fairway which were narrow on some holes and as wide as an airport runway on a few others. There were 5-6 holes with sharp doglegs so irons were necessary off of the tee. I played a few more drivers off of those tees than I should have but got away with them. In tournament play I probably would have played irons off of the tee as on those specific holes were not very long. Now most players over-estimate their ability and hit clubs that should stay in the bag yet they blame the course. Be smart-know your limits and I hope you enjoy it as my wife and I did today! She was glad she played! I wish we had time to play it again!!
