Bluffs/Peaks Golf Course at Boulder Pointe Golf Club
Played On 08/30/2018Solid Track
Usually one of my favorite courses in the area. Great layout. Tees and fairways were pristine. However, I have 2 complaints.
First, the bunkers were absolutely horrendous. Obviously I didn't want to be in the sand, but the sand was nowhere to be found. It was hard packed dirt with a fine layer of sand and littered with rocks. Impossible to play out of.
Second, the pro shop didn't inform me that the greens were being aerated. Neither when I booked my tee time, or when I checked in before my round. In my opinion that is unacceptable. I could have played somewhere else where putting wasn't like a game of plinko. I understand that it needs to be done, but inform me before I book the tee time in case I don't want to putt on greens like that. It cost me a few putts, not a huge deal.. but still frustrating.
Still a beautiful track and will return in the future. Hopefully with non aerated greens.
Mulberry Hills Golf Course

I was referred to this course by a friend. He called it "a hidden gem." It wasn't. The first thing I noticed was the clubhouse. Very cool barn that was remodeled, although when you went inside you were met with a strong smell of what seemed like cat urine. The course itself was okay, nothing spectacular. The teeboxes were well manicured and although the fairways we're plush, it seemed like a tractor had run them over. Rivets and bumps all over. The greens on the other hand were absolutely ridiculous. Crowned, turtlebacks... Whatever you want to call them. It was near impossible to land an approach shot close, let alone keep it on the surface. The front 9 seemed a bit easier than the back but both had blind shots and an abundance of bugs, very annoying. This is not a course that I would put into my rotation. Play at your own risk.

Beautiful track. Challenging but fair. The practice area is amazing. Multiple putting greens. Chipping green, bunkers. It has it all.
Gowanie Country Club
Played On 08/21/2016Amazing
Was fortunate enough to play this track with a member. It's short, measuring 6,400 from the tips, but shot making is a must. Tree lined fairways and guarded greens. I've played private courses before, but these were the best greens I've ever had the pleasure of putting on. Absolutely immaculate.
White/Gold at Bello Woods Golf Course
Played On 08/20/2016A cow pasture
This is a cow pasture with pins. It's not a golf course. To call it a golf course is a slap in the face to golfers everywhere. First off, pace of play is a joke. 6somes and 8somes scattered all over. Next is the layout. Straight, straight, straight. Every hole with exception of maybe one or two run next to each other. That makes it interesting, not for shot selection... But for dodging the errant shots from other golfers. Don't expect to hear "fore" either. It's a shooting gallery out there. Last is the condition of this place. It's a wasteland. Can't distinguish the rough from the, dare I call it this... Fairway. It's anything but a fairway. Riddled with bare dirt patches, the grass is long, almost as long as the rough. The "greens" are tiny and seem like they're never cut. Avoid this place at all costs. Ignore the shockingly good reviews. How it even has 3 stars is beyond me. If there were an option, I would have given it zero stars. Pay the extra money and play a real golf course. Wouldn't play here again if they paid me.
Devil's Ridge Golf Club
Played On 08/06/2014Great track
Second time out this year and it's in fantastic shape. Not very long but challenging if you don't place the ball in the right spots. Greens were fast and have a lot of slope so course knowledge is a must. Very receptive, could attack back pin locations. Will play this track at least 3 more times before the season is over.
Glacier Club
Played On 07/25/2014I've had better
I've played Glacier a few times in the past, but this course has seen better days. First off, the tee boxes need a little TLC. The fairways are in decent shape, but divots need to be repaired. The greens on the other hand are pretty bad. Ball marks are scattered throughout. The grass was cut entirely too short, which makes the greens way too fast and firm. The only way you're going to hold a green on an approach is if you hoist it way up in the air and land it softly, don't even dare to go after back pins. I'm sure the horrible winter didn't help matters, but big brother down the road (the orchards) is in fantastic shape, so it mostly reflects on bad course management. Decent track for the money, needs time to heal.
