McInnis Park Golf Center
Played On 07/03/2020Nice course, good value
A good, ingeniously designed county-owned layout on the edge of San Pablo Bay marshland. Sometimes busy and slow but often not. A good walk, mostly flat, with one fairly steep but relatively short climb to the 8th green. An average golfer will find four decent-length par fours, one with a sharp dogleg over a pond that seems to love golf balls, and two others requiring a measure of accuracy to avoid lost balls.. Two of the par threes require long irons or hybrids. Three are short, and two of these a bit tricky. The fairways and greens are typically in good condition, a caveat being that in wet weather the turf can get pretty boggy given the location next to the bay. Overall, it is a good value and a good 90 minutes or so in an attractive setting with views of the bay as well as Mt. Diablo and Mt. Tamalpais. The restaurant and bar are first-rate, and a good miniature golf course plus batting cages are available on the county park property.
