Palmbrook Golf Club
Played On 09/25/2018Sloooow front 9
We had the first tee time behind a very slow tournament group. The front nine was nothing but waiting. In contrast, the back nine was wide open and very enjoyable. I will be back but will call regarding tournaments beforehand.
The course was in good shape; greens, fairways and tee boxes.
North Golf Course at Sun City
Played On 09/19/2018First time at North Course
Tee boxes were a little shaggy and the greens were slow but it rained yesterday. Fairways were spectacular. The guy at the pro shop was FRIGID!I guess they don't like GolfNow hot deal tee time folks. I am now a citizen of Sun City (as of a few days ago) but didn't have time to schedule 5 says in advance thru their portal. I will see how they treat members as opposed to Golf now folks. Everyone else was quite friendly. Nice restrooms and
chilled water on the course.

Played On 06/29/2018Great course
We had a great time here. Nice tee boxes, fairways were pretty good for this time of year, and the greens were in good shape too. No complaints, we will be back.
Great Eagle Golf Club
Played On 06/25/2018tough conditions
We realized that June in AZ is not prime golf weather so the burnt fairways were expected. It still was pretty rough to hit almost every shot with no grass.
Peoria Pines Golf Club
Played On 06/20/2018Like playing on cardboard
From the uneven tee boxes to the totally burnt out fairways and a few greens, this was the worst golf experience we have had so far in Phoenix. If they spent a fraction of the $$ they spent on the "NO FOOD or DRINKS" signs at EVERY TEE BOX on the course it could have been a more enjoyable experience. The only green areas in the"fairways" were around the water sprinklers that were leaking. Almost every shot was like hitting a ball off of cardboard. I felt we should have brought a 4X4 piece of carpet along to put the ball on even when it was in the center of the fairway. Nice staff but VERY disappointing course conditions. Have played several Phoenix courses recently and this was atrocious compared to the others.
Pueblo El Mirage Golf Club
Played On 06/19/2018This course was a pleasant surprise.
We are visiting Phoenix from St. Louis and have been visiting various courses in the area thru Golfnow. This course was what we have been looking for. It is well kept, nice tee boxes, carts, fairways and greens. We have no complaints with the course or the staff. We will definitely be back.
Grand Marais Golf Club
Played On 10/28/2016Not too bad a course
This is an older course with aging amenities in situated in a State Park in a very marginal neighborhood. That being said, the course was in pretty good shape except for the sand(dirt) traps. Also, the cart we started with had to be swapped @ 9 holes as it was barely running. The next cart was like a jackrabbit but it had nearly NO BRAKES and the parking brake didn't function. Fortunately, the course is flat as a board.

Haven't been here for a few years. A long ride from anywhere. Course is changing for the better. Tee boxes and greens were greatly improved and the fairways are filling in nicely with carpet grasses. My only request is for more yardage markers. How about a piece of painted 4X4 at 200, 150, and 100 yards on each side of each fairway. Initial cost would be minimal and they should last for years.
Thank you for your feedback. We do have red markers for 100 yards, white markers for 150 yards, and blue markers for 200 yards posted on most par fours and par fives. Over the years, we have had a few of them pulled out and knocked over that need to be replaced. We will look into those holes that are missing and get them updated. Thank you for your input and helping us improve our playing conditions for our golfers.
Creve Coeur Golf Club
Played On 01/14/2016January golf in St. Louis
A 60 degree after a week in the teens. The course should have been closed. The greens were frozen. My ball bounced up off the 2nd green like it was a basketball court. Too many blind holes, most people were walking but playing very slowly. It took over 3 hrs to play 9 holes. No marshall to move people along.
Sugar Creek Golf Course
Played On 11/11/2015Horrendous course conditions
This course has continually gone downhill in recent years, but it has reached new depths of disrepair. The tee boxes were nothing but dirt and weeds. The fairways were shaggy and had vast bare spots. BUT the greens were the crown jewel of disgust. I have seen better conditions on the infield of a grade school sandlot ball field than these "greens". They were more dirt and sand than grass. One hole, I think it was #6, didn't even have a green. They just stuck a flag in a hole, AT THE END OF THE FAIRWAY!!??
I can not figure out why Golfnow would want this course on their site. This course will become a subdivision in no time at its rapid rate of decay. DON'T GO HERE!!!
Sugar Creek Golf Course
Played On 11/10/2015Horrendous
Tee boxes and greens(?) were terrible. I have seen more grass on a grade school sandlot ball field than most of these greens. Hole 6 had NO GREEN, just a flag stuck in the fairway in front of the old green. The pace of play was fabulous since we were the only players on the course. This course has been slipping every year but has reached new depths of depravity.
Oak Valley Golf Course & Resort
Played On 10/07/2015Gorgeous day
The weather was far better than my golf. The course was in pretty good shape, tee boxes were really good, fairways were okay and most greens needed some work. All greens had some weeds and bare spots. Also, some aeration was in progress.
Sullivan Golf Club
Played On 07/26/2014Hot, but fun day.
Played the Golfnow noon hot tee time for $10/18 on a Saturday, that can't be beat. Even though this is over an hour drive, it was worth it to us. The tee boxes were ok, greens were a little slow, and the fairways were ok but really could use a good rain. This course has plenty of diversity with water, terrain and elevation changes and an interesting layout. Could use a rest room on the back nine. The "drinking" water on the course was horrendous. Just put some ice in the coolers and let it melt, at least it would be filtered and drinkable.
Country Lake Golf Club
Played On 07/15/2014Short but fun.
Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in great shape. The rough was more than a little too shaggy. We lost several balls that were just off the fairway(+/- 3yards) in the rough with 4 people looking. Overall an extremely enjoyable experience despite the 50+ mile drive.
Columbia Bridges Golf Club
Played On 06/13/2014older course, needs work
Looks like this was a nice course with several interesting and challenging holes. Now it needs work. ALL but one of the many sand traps were weed infested and unplayable. Its June and they haven't been worked up at all. The tee boxes were unlevel and the greens were shaggy.
Mystic Oak Golf Course
Played On 04/04/2014Nice layout, poor condition
This course "could" be a lot of fun to play. The layout is challenging but forgiving enough for mid to upper handicappers. The problem with the course was the abysmal condition of the fairways. The greens (although recently aerated) and the tee boxes were okay, but the fairways had less grass in them than the soccer field that is in our local park. I am guessing this course is under rehab (evidence of some zoysia being started in the fairways) but most of our shots from the fairway were off of dirt(mud). I would recommend this course to a friend, but not for at least a year or two to let the fairway grass fill in.
Acorns Golf Links
Played On 03/28/2014Cold and windy
Good: Great friendly staff, newer clubhouse and patio area, newer carts, relaxed friendly atmosphere. Course has a nice layout, challenging but playable for all levels of player.
Mediocre: Course signage and yardage markers. Tee boxes were shaggy. Greens were pretty rough, with lots of ball marks (not uncommon for farm county courses).
BAD: NO restrooms except at the clubhouse and these need work(sewage odors).
This is an enjoyable course overall. It needs a sign at the entrance as it is somewhat hard to find being off the beaten path.
This would probably be a good course for a small tournament or perhaps a couples twilight scramble.
Deer Creek USA Golf and Event Center
Played On 10/10/2013Course is in process of rehab.
This course has seen its better days. I haven't played here for several years. It was closed for several months and no maintenance was performed in the downtime. While it is under new ownership, it is in need of LOTS of work in the fairways, tees and greens. I played on the HOT List pricing $10/18 holes and can't complain, but to pay regular price this course will really need to step up the general maintenance of the course. The new owner is very enthusiastic and hopefully can restore this to a quality course in the next few years.
Paradise Valley Golf & Country Club
Played On 10/2/2013Challenging course, convenient location
I played this course on a spur-of-the-moment booking. Got a great price from Golf Now. The course was in pretty good shape but some of the greens were spotty. The tee boxes were in okay but not great condition. There aren't enough yardage stakes on most of the holes making club selection a guess for nonregular players.
Fairfield Golf Club
Played On 08/28/2013Putt-Putt sized greens
We thought we were mistaken when we saw a PAR 5 that was less than 400 yds. The fairways were burnt and bare, and the greens were postage stamp size. Without a GPS, it would be VERY DIFFICULT to navigate this course (few yardage markers) and poor course layout. Too many other courses in this area in this price range to waste another day here. No wonder we were 1 of two foursomes on the entire course. There's a first and last for everything.
Great to hear you had a great time at the course! Hope to see you back again sometime soon!
