Mohansic Golf Course
Played On 03/23/2024Mighty Mo !
This is the most traditional and majestic layout of the Westchester County Municipal Courses. The first hole is a relatively short downhill slight dogleg left par 4. I got within 25 yds of the green last Sunday which I thinned into the deep collar and chunked it close for a ho-hum par. The 2nd hole is a more severe dogleg right. You have to use all your clubs at this course. It's challenging but not unfair. The greens run at about 8-9 which is not especially fast but watch out for the downhill puts as they can get away from you..

Great layout! I've played this course about 6 times and I never tire of the sick views. You need to be able to manage your game well in order to score at Patriot Hills. The 1st hole is a downhill, then uphill par 4. If you can carve a long fade, you're golden here! The second shot calls for a 9 or 8 iron depending on how long you drove it. I drove it about 280 to the right side of the fairway and only needed a pitching wedge for the uphill 135 shot which I miss hit into the 1st greenside bunker. I then hit a mediocre sand shot to within 14ft and sank it for the par. 2nd hole is a short uphill par four. I hit a low screamer down the middle and, with 97 to the pin, I hit my 58 degree wedge about 107 and it backed up to within 2ft. Sank it for the bird. The greens were perfect and running at about 10. Anyway, we were pleasantly surprised at the condition of the course. It's a public track so people weren't raking great and probably could have filled their divots a bit more but the divots on the greens were minimal (maybe they weren't hitting the greens?). I snowmanned the 3rd hole and had a total of 2 snowmen and one 7 and shot a 46-39 for an 85. My average score is around 82 so not as bad as I thought with so many blow-up holes. I was giving 6 shots to my buddy and we came up even on the money. We both said that we were coming back.

This is a Private Course and I played with a friend this time. I am surprised that Golf Now is offering tee times here. Greens and fairways and rough are all pristine. Go Play if you have the opportunity. Note: I grew up right across the street from this course so I have a bit of a nostalgic feeling for T.O.S.
Lakes/Fairways at Centennial Golf Club
Played On 10/07/2020Always Meadows
There are 3 9's here, Lakes, Meadows and Fairways. Every time I play there they put Golf Now people on the inferior Meadows course. What the heck ? I asked the pro and he said it had something to do with the time of day of your tee time. Mornings you get the Meadows as one of your 9's. Afternoons you might get the better nine. Having said all this, the Meadows 9 is still very nice if not a little flat except for the challenging 9th hole.
Dunwoodie Golf Course
Played On 09/22/2020Good Ole Dun !
First hole is a bit of a throw away, warm-up hole. I usually hit a 6 or seven iron and still only need a 60 or 58 degree sand wedge in. I played today and since it hasn't rained much in the Northeast, balls are rolling fast on the greens and have a tendency to trundle a long way in the fairways. It's close to the end of the season so theres a bit of "cart wear" on the edges of the holes. Regardless, it's a fair track and an enjoyable round. Go Play !!!

Darlington Golf Course
Played On 07/17/2020First Time
Upon driving up and seeing the Clubhouse and the parking lot, I was surprised at how run down everything seemed. I was pleasantly surprised at the course though and I really don't care about the amenities. This is a nice track with some interesting and challenging holes meandering through marshes and forests. The greens were running at about 8 and were in good condition considering no one was fixing their ball marks. I would definitely play there again.
Hello, Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Darlington Golf Course.

We started off the back nine walking and I couldn't believe how hilly this course was ! The front 9 is definitely more flat and walkable but I WILL take a cart from now on. The layout is beautiful but they need a lot of money to fix the bunkers. I shot 40 on the hilly back and 46 on the easier flatter front, typical !!! This was my first time playing this course and I would come back. This round was played right in the middle of the Corona Virus restricted rule limitations so I think I would have scored better if the cones in the holes didn't keep my balls from falling in. We were betting so we were all playing with the same rules, no gimmies...
Thank you for taking the time to review us, Chris. Your feedback is valuable, and we look forward to delivering you excellent service again soon. @LaurelViewCountryClub thanks you!

Played On 03/19/2020Good Memories
I was a member of a private club when one of my buddies first suggested playing this track in the late 80's. It was a treasure then and still is today. I played once this year but it was earlier in the year and the grass was dormant so it would be unfair to give an assessment based on that round. I'm playing here next Wednesday and because of Covid, carts aren't allowed. For some reason I'm getting brain freeze about the uphill holes, I seem to remember the downhill holes but I am worried about climbing hills at age 63 with a pull cart. Hopefully by wednesday the restriction will be lifted and I can rent a cart. As for the course (downhill holes), it helps to be able to carve a fade and hit a draw because every hole has a little curve to it. I am not in love with the 2nd hole though, it's a straight huge downhill shot surrounded by woods and crooked hitters have trouble finding their balls in the woods and short is death.
Richter Park Golf Course
Played On 03/18/2020Richter is scary good
I love Richter park. There’s something about the first hole that tells me that I love golf and I’m going to go really low. Then I hit my T shot and carve a low but, 275 yards down the middle. Then I shank my second shot into the water. And I remember that I suck at golf. Then I hit my 54 degree wedge from 107 and it spins right back into the cup for a ho hum par. Geez, I’m good!
Richter Park Golf Course
Played On 03/12/2020Superb Golf
I you have a chance, you should take this baby on! Fun first hole, especially if you're a slicer. You need quite a poke to get out past the trees on the right but it's all downhill, which is nice...
There are some challenges and some side hill lies so best, if no one is looking, to kick your ball until you're happy. There is water and some OB so I recommend bringing more than one ball. Now you know how to play this course. Have fun and be safe out there !!!
Crystal Springs Golf Club
Played On 11/13/2020Tight
You have to hit your spots on this relatively tight and tricky layout. Lots of out of bounds and skinny fairways make this a shot makers golf course. A good test of your abilities.
Hudson Hills Golf Course
Played On 10/24/2019Got better
HH has undergone some excellent improvements regarding course conditions. Someone is spending money there and the fairways and rough are being very well taken care of. There are always going to be exceptions on a public course that gets a lot of play by inconsiderate people who drive their carts close to the playing surfaces and who don't repair divots or ball marks on the greens. But overall, they are really making a go of it! The greens are slick as always and because of the speed, you need less break than you think. So be careful out there...

Dunwoodie Golf Course
Played On 05/22/2019Tight
Yes, Dun can play a little tight and we played from the backs. First hole is short. I rarely use more than a 6 iron and I have a hundred in from there at most. The greens ARE in good shape and we just started playing them down so while you might get some funky divot lies, all in all the conditions were nice. Nice course with some interesting holes. Grab your clubs, tell your wife you'll be in meetings all day and play!
Hi chris1742885! Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and we hope to see you back!
Golf Club at Mansion Ridge
Played On 05/15/2019Interesting holes
There are some holes where you have relatively long forced carries, so make sure you choose the right tee boxes for your level of skill or distance. The first 4 holes are relatively "linksy" but very soon you are playing in the shade of the woods. This course has some distinctive holes that will keep you on your toes. Bring some extra balls !
Red at D. Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course
Played On 05/08/2019Early May round
The greens were still a little shaggy on May 8th as the greenskeepers are letting roots set in and it's been so rainy that they haven't had an opportunity to roll or mow much. They could use a little more fertilizer but overall I was happy with the conditions considering the recent wetness. I shot an 81 because of a double on 17 and a bogie on 18 which I have never parred anyway, it's a funky par 5 because you have to keep your Tee shot short so you don't go in the water but then you end up with a downhill lie trying to hit your 2nd way up hill, I hate that combo! But it's a nice course....Go play it !
Mohansic Golf Course
Played On 04/23/2019I want More MO
It was a sunny day early in the season and our Tee time was at 12:30. I knew it would be a long round but actually, it wasn't so bad, maybe 4.5 hours. Greens were in great shape for April and the turf was surprisingly grown in. The rough had some hard pan which is exacerbated by people driving on the playing surface before the grass has been given time to root properly. All in all, Big Mo is a great course with an old time challenging design. Go Play!

9 hole course you play twice. The course is tight and the greens are nice. Many bare spots but overall a good place if you get a good price
Hudson Hills Golf Course
Played On 09/05/2018Conditions Have deteriorated
I have played Hudson Hills a lot over the years and I was surprised how, in the past few months, it seems the grounds crew has stopped doing anything but mow the lawn. Huge brown and bare spots, obviously no fertilizer use, etc. I am afraid they are letting it go so they can eventually sell the property to developers. The problem is HH charges more than any course in the Westchester county system for an average course so they get much less play and revenue is down. Charge the same as the other courses and watch the crowds come back!
I re-reviewed this course recently and I was pleasantly surprised how conditions have improved. It's still early this year to judge any course fairly but I was impressed at the improved grass conditions all last year.
Mohansic Golf Course
Played On 05/01/2018Really Playable
I love the layout of this course. I play here every Saturday during the summer and have been for years. The pro, Max, treats everyone well and is a great teacher. 1st hole is a slight dogleg left with a mild downhill tee shot, keep your approach short or you're in jail. Big right dogleg for the second and the 3rd is a long 4 as is the 4th. What I am saying is this is a good challenge and I could go on but I am going out to hit some balls. There is a decent driving range and a chipping area near the range and putting practice area by the clubhouse.
Maple Moor Golf Course
Played On 04/24/2018Good public course
I have played here many times over the yuan’s nothing has changed much here, but that’s a good thing. . It can play long from the blues but no forced carries. I recommend this course , the conditions are usually good and challenging. Greens run around 9 and pretty true.
