The course overall was in good shape. The tee boxes were a little chewed up, but the weather has been very hot. The sand traps were fairly hard - I think they need to get more sand in them.

West at White Pines Golf Course
Played On 06/25/2019Beware of Tuesday morning league on the East course
We recently played 18 holes on the East Course. The course was in good shape except for some of the traps, which were waterlogged from recent rains. The biggest problem was a woman's league ahead of us. The last two twosomes in the 18-hole league, no lie, took 15-20 strokes per hole on the 4s and 5s. Needless to say, the time for us to play the course was way too long. Stay away from this course on Tuesday mornings before 10!
Thanks for the review, we appreciate your understanding. Growing the game isn't always easy!

Played White Pines East yesterday. Unfortunately, got behind a woman's league which was slow. Took 4 1/2 hours to play - on a Tuesday morning, that is not good. Some of the greens need repair. The 12th tee box look like it had been flooded recently, with barely any grass in the area. The cart paths are crushed limestone, and are in dire need of repair. A lot of pot holes. But other than the above, the course is moderately challenging and was in good shape.

The course has strategically placed bunkers, several water hazards, a few forced carries off the tee, and large, undulating greens. A definite challenge, but fun to play
Red at Gleneagles Country Club
Played On 05/18/2015Stay out of the traps!
Gleneagles is a golf course that has been around for a while, and is showing its age. The fairways are fairly open, with mature trees around, but not so many that an errant shot will get you into a lot of trouble. The biggest issue I have with this course are the traps. I didn''t say sand traps because most of the traps are dirt filled. There are some traps that have sand, but many have dirt. And when it rains (not today, but other times when I've been there) the drainage is terrible.
Village Greens of Woodridge
Played On 10/27/2014The end is near
Being near the end of the season, management must be cutting back on the maintenance staff. None of the ball washers were to be found and several of the bunkers weren't raked. More frustrating was that a couple of the greens were full of leaves! I understand that it is tough to maintain a course at this time of the year, but at least get the staff out there and keep the greens clear. Other than the above, the course was in pretty good shape.
Fresh Meadow Golf Course
Played On 07/31/2014You get what you pay for.
I recently played 18 holes at Fresh Meadows. You couldn't beat the online price of $18. After playing, I now know why it was so cheap. The course is not well kept up. The fairways were not in the best shape. Many of the "sand traps" were more like "dirt" traps. Ball washers were missing drying towels, and some were missing water! Didn't see one ranger all day; the pace for a weekday morning was pretty sad - over 4 hours. In summary, if you need a place to play, Fresh Meadows works. If you want a well kept course in the western burbs, go elsewhere!
The Woodlands Course at Whittaker
Played On 07/16/2014Hit 'em straight
We decided to play Whittaker Woods while visiting New Buffalo. We found the staff to be very friendly, and they gave us good advice about the course. The front nine is very tight. If you don't hit the ball straight, into the woods it goes and you will never find it. The water hazards are somewhat long and you definitely need to connect to carry them. The back nine is much more forgiving.
