Bedford Valley Course at Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort
Played On 09/05/2020Where’s the ranger
The course is beautiful , towering oak trees and sand traps guarding every green and the sand is top notch. I was in several!! My only criticism is pace of play. Front nine - 1hour 50 minutes, back nine - 2 hours 30 minutes!! A ranger on the course would have really been nice. However, it going to be even slower for the groups behind us, As we were putting on 18 there’s was 8 teeing off on #16!!!

We’ve played here several times. The course is always in very good shape. The greens are a moderate speed with slight undulations, I certainly can’t push that many putts!
Emerald Vale Golf Club
Played On 07/24/2018Great course
Great golf course and a terrific layout. Very good variety of holes. The holes have lots of sand traps however the front is open for a bump and run shot. The greens are huge, and my iron play resulted in very long putts!! Also, be ready for lots of elevated greens. If you’re headed up north for a golf outing this is worth the detour for a round. My only criticisms would be the greens were a little slow and the course was very soggy in some spots, sprinkler malfunctions or massive rain.
Twin Birch Golf Club
Played On 07/23/2018Very nice
Very nice golf course and the staff was very friendly. The greens seemed a little slow compared to the courses at Shanty Creek, however, they were in great shape and very smooth. The course is nothing fancy but is still very enjoyable. We will play again.
Crown Golf Course
Played On 09/12/2017Really? No drinking water on the course?
The day was perfect, the reviews had been quite positive, the ranger who accompanied us to the driving range led us to belief we were in for a wonderful afternoon. As it turned out the day was underwhelming. First, the course is beautiful (it is Traverse City after all). Great views, groomed fairways, fast greens...what else could you ask for? Well, a ranger who actually showed up on the course would have been nice. Water on the course on a hot day would have been nice. That's right...a hot day...zero water to drink. When we asked at the turn whether we had missed the coolers the response was essentially...no water...deal with it. Pace of play was 4 hours, 35 minutes. Not terrible, except it broke down as 2/55 on the front, 1/40 on the back. Surprise!! There was an "outing" in front of us on the front. And, there was no ranger to calm the 2-3 foursomes that were waiting on every tee for the first 9 holes. For my wife and I, celebrating her birthday, for us, this course is a one and done.
The Natural at Beaver Creek Resort
Played On 07/11/2016Beautiful course to look at, however?
The Natural is a beautiful golf course, however, some of the holes are so difficult they are a little unfair. Some holes require a long carry to a heavy guarded green. And, depending on where you land next to the green, sorry I can't hit my 3 and 5 woods that accurately, you may have a chip shot that you can't get to the pin from there. It was tough but the course is in excellent condition and a great challenge. I'd play it again, but really, a par 4 for women that's 380 yards, dogleg left and the second shot is 80 yards carry over a marsh!! The staff was very friendly.
River at Hampton Cove Golf Course

Fun and very challenging course. Lots of water and you better hit the green with your approach shot and then you will want to be on the correct portion of the green. Otherwise your facing a very tough chip or an even harder 2 putt.

A bucket list to play this TPG course for this 61 year old female 7 handicapper. At the first tee my husband and I were told by the starter that we would be following a 2-some, unless they let us join them, they never did, AND we will all be following a group of 20. Evidently the group of 20 was allowed to set a very slow pace. 4 groups on a par 4 is a long wait! We played 8 holes before the skies opened and never stopped. During our prolonged wait a bite to eat would have been nice, oh darn, it's 4pm and the grill is closed! Sorry, a group of 20 is not excuse for such slow play and no ranger in sight. Needless to say, I live in Michigan this course is in Florida, I doubt I will ever be back, it sure would have been nice to have played a few more holes.
The Ravines Golf Club
Played On 05/11/2014Fun, fun, fun
This is a fun and yet challenging course. The greens were young into the season and a little slow, but the course was in great shape. Pace of play was very good, we played on Mother's Day and they had cupcakes for us! There is no indication on pin placement and that can make club selection difficult. It would be nice to know if the pin is in the front, middle or back of the green.
Overall, it was great fun. I shot a 37 on the front!!!

Fun course, in great shape, except for the rocks in the sand traps. The par 5's are pretty tough, but very fair. Senior tees is also very nice.
