I played this for the first time yesterday and really enjoyed it. I would definitely come back.

I hate to leave an unfavorable review and to be clear I did NOT dislike the course, but the reason we leave reviews is to be honest about our own opinions. This course has a few great holes. There are too many double and triple tiered greens for my liking. This makes a short course (which this is) a lot tougher because you wind up with a very small landing area. If this is your thing, you will love the course. My playing companion lost many balls in the rough that should have been found. There are also a few quirky holes. Overall I think this course is around a 3.5. I gave it 3 for the rough conditions and the strange green configurations.

One of the best courses you can play near Atlanta. It has a great layout and is well cared for. I love the scale and proportion of this course.

I played the GTC for the second time today. I played last week also. Its a really nice layout that has been cared for. The tee boxes, and fairways and rough are in excellent condition. Wonderful landscaping abounds. The cart paths are in great shape and they use electric carts. A big plus in my book. The greens last week were cut closer so today they played pretty slow. They were also very soft both times and it's important to repair any divot marks. I would like to play here again. Just a note. Make sure you show up with the proper attire! I wore light weight pants with pockets on the side. I was informed that I could not play in "cargo shorts" Period. So I had to buy a pair in their golf shop. They did give me 20 percent off....AND...No untucked shirts either. Ok..Perhaps I missed this, but I think they need to make this clearer on this site to avoid this problem in the future.

We played from the blue tees which are less than 6000 yards because it had been awhile since we played this course. We could only use the driver 3 or 4 times. The course has lots of narrow and blind shots with doglegs and is fun if you are up to the challenge of negotiating your way around the course. The greens were near perfect and rolled very true.

With a name like Trophy Club and knowing this area, I expected a little more from this club. The cart paths are a mess. Whoever made them must have tried to skimp on the preparation, because its a bumpy ride! The rough was cut pretty deep, so it was very easy to lose a ball. Some of the tees were obliterated and there were grass clippings just laying on the side of the tee. Having said all that, its a decent layout. The greens were very fast! Be prepared to have the ball run off the green if you are not careful. You also must be accurate. Not many places to hook or fade a driver. I would play here again, but will not be going out of my way to do so.

This was the first time I played here and I was pleasantly surprised. You need some accuracy to play well here, but the mainly flat greens are in good shape and are certainly less challenging than greens with big undulations. The fairways were also in great shape. I liked this course a lot. I would give it 4.25 stars if I could. In fact, I wish golf now would use a 1-100 rating instead of this 1 to 5 star rating system.

Browns Mill is a fun course. I like playing here. Its generally in good shape except for a few holes that don't drain after it rains. It has very decent greens and fairways. My only real gripe is that the pace of play on the weekends can be very slow and there does not seem to be anyone in charge of moving the slower golfers along. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Perhaps during the week is a better play.

The difficulty of this course with depend on what tees you hit from as in any course. Its a beautiful layout with many challenging holes that have been well thought out. The greens were in very good shape and fast. I am happy to play here anytime, but its always a challenge to come in with a good score...One of the best course that you can play without a membership.

This course is a gem of a course in North Georgia. Its very forgiving off the tee but the course has many interesting and challenging holes designed by the Golden Bear himself. Its an hour drive for me, but worth it when I can swing it.They also have an excellent practice facility and for 4 bucks you can hit a ton of balls and then practice out of an excellent sand bunker. Greens are excellent and they staff is very friendly.

We don't live in this area. We stopped here on our way from Jekyll Island to Atlanta for a quick 9 and were pleasantly surprised. They have great greens that putt true, electric carts and a nice layout. The price was very reasonable.
