Played a couple of weeks ago and it was in better condition then. Work requires to be done on bare fairways and tees. Greens are much better than they were, albeit still on the slow side. Pace of play was ridiculously slow and at times four groups on the same hole. Four females, one single player, group of four and then a two ball, and the group of four had joined together as originally they were also two balls. Had to wait from the 7th. The starter said that it hadn’t been very busy so they didn’t need a Marshall.

The ratings are based on a previous round. We just got started our round when we had to shelter due to a severe downpour. We only played six holes, started the 7th but were forced off due to thunderstorm and lightning. The course has had a lot of rain thrown at it as we were doing the 90 degree rule but it is certainly holding its own. Fairways and greens in good condition. Going back to the UK next week so won’t get to play this hidden gem until next year.

Never having played this course we were advised on arrival that buggy had to be kept on cart path. Coming from Scotland and usually walking golf courses we didn’t find this too much trouble. The course was just about empty and it took us three hours, superb. There are some interesting holes and a good mix of pars. Some par fours a little long for the average player to get on in regulation. The course was in lovely condition and the greens were running true if you managed to get the right line, albeit I thought they would have been a little quicker. A great round.

Firstly our thanks for the free drinks, it was our wedding anniversary. The course was still in the beautiful condition we found it last week. There is a lovely mix of par 3s, 4s and 5s, all with differing degrees of difficulty. It has a number of hazards but you can see everything in front of you. The only reason for the four stars at course conditions is due to the slightly slow greens. Another great day and we finished it off with eating in the restaurant.

Welcomed by all. This is a very different golf course from the usual. It’s like eighteen golf courses with one hole on each. The length between holes is longer than the yardage of the holes! That being said the whole place was in great condition and the greens were definitely pacey. A lovely mixture of par 3s, 4s and 5s. I would certainly recommend but it all depends on your preference.

Played this course two weeks ago and the tees weren’t too good. The greens were very slow. However, that being said it is amazing what two weeks can do. The improvement in the greens, well, what can I say, so much better. Tees were much tidier too. Was a beautiful, not so hot day and it only took us 2 hours 40 minutes, superb. Don’t expect too much from the Pro Shop.

Played this course on a Hot Deal, to say it was value for money is an understatement. The course is beautifully kept. Greens had a little sand on them but this did not detract from the speed and roll. There is a great blend of par 3s 4s and 5s, all of which you have to think about, especially the 4s and 5s. Have already booked to play again. Pro Shop more than helpful, going the extra mile. Many thanks.

The course has definitely got better since we played last. The downside this time round was the shortened course due to the fact that the tee boxes had been seeded and tees were on a temporary setting. Greens had a little sand on them, some more than others, but in fairness they were running true and fairly speedy.

It was a few years since playing this course first time around. Fairways and greens were in great condition albeit the greens were a little on the slow side. It’s a course that you have to think about as there are a fair amount of hazards but you can see it all. Very welcoming club and everyone very helpful. Many thanks.

The fairways still require work but this is ongoing. The greens are the best condition I have seen in a few years. Well done to all those involved in the maintenance. Good job.

The greens are in good condition but are very slow. The overall condition of the course is good but work required on the teeing up areas. Saying all this, I would play the Course again.

The course has recently been cored and sanded but it hasn’t taken long to recover. Some greens are a little sandy but they are still running pretty fast. A good mix of holes. Work should be done to improve the 18th. Sometimes there is too much of a difference between tees.

Course conditions were fair. The rating would have been higher but the greens were a bit of a mess, especially the front nine. The bar was closed for refurbishment, since September 2018!

This is the second time this holiday that we have played Highlands Reserve. Course conditions are good and the maintenance is ongoing. Greens are a little on the slow side but in great condition. We always find everyone extremely helpful and pleasant. Well done.

Having read some of the reviews I couldn’t quite believe that I had played the same course. A course doesn’t go from terrible to super in the space of two weeks. The only problem I had was the fact that there was a School Qualifier being played and had I known this I would never have booked to play on the same day. It took five hours for our round, the only saving grace was the fact that we had been paired with another couple and it didn’t seem like five hours.

The course was in really good condition and although the greens were on the slow side they were running true. There is a little sand on a few greens but nothing to moan about. This course, with only a few wet areas, was by far the driest course I have played in the last three weeks. I look forward to returning, but alas it will have to be next year !

Was a bit sceptical at first as I had heard that the course was having its troubles. However, delighted that we had returned to play after a number of years. There are definite problems with water accumulation in several of the front nine holes but this is due to the amount of rain that’s fallen on the course. It is now beginning to dry. The greens are good and are fairly quick. There are a number of lovely featured holes and all in all we would play this course again. It will get better and better as there is obvious work being done to upgrade and maintain. We also had a super light lunch and it didn’t cost the earth, the daily special. The pro shop is a bit of a let down with not much merchandise but hopefully that will pick up too.

This course for the longer hitters. The course is in good condition with plenty of water and sand in play if you venture left or right. It gets a bit boring after a while with long straight fairways and the par 3s are short with no design difficulty. The greens are the fastest that we have played on this holiday and it was a nice change.

This is a golf course with a very different set up. It is made up of eighteen individual holes and it is spread over acres and acres of land within a housing estate which is still in its infancy. The first time I played this course the Clubhouse was a portacabin but it now has a workable Clubhouse where you can find everything under one roof. The course was in excellent condition and the greens were true if you managed to hold the line. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Championsgate.

Having played this course a few years ago, my husband, son and son-in-law played the course as it was a course which we highly rated. They played the course a few months before it was closed for a number of months due to building of new houses within the course boundaries. At that time they were disgusted that they had actually been charged to play it. On this visit we visited Mystic Dunes to sound things out before deciding whether to play it again. Although there is still work to be done it is very evident that there has been a lot of work done and on speaking to people they said the greens were the best they had been in a while. The greens were in very good condition, albeit they were a little slow but they did keep the line. A number of fairways still have some time to go before they are completely up to standard but all in all we were glad that we had given Mystic Dunes a “Second Chance” and have decided that we would play the course again.

Course in good condition and one of the best around.
