Glad they are back from covid-19 break.

They were able to reopen because they took necessary covid-19 precautions, and they are doing a good job of it. Walkhalk personnel did a good job of enforcing the new rules. I observed more cars in the parking lot than I have ever seen before, and pace of play was a little slow, but it did not seem crowded on the course.

Always Love Syquan

Played here several times. Guess it is due to drought the course has become easier to play. No rough anymore. Only complaint, is like most public courses, slow play. My round was 5 hours.

OK for a place to practice

Expect every shot will be from an unlevel surface. This short course is built on very steep and hilly property, making for challenging shot making. Even though it is a short course it is difficult to walk.

Continues to get worse

I have played this course for a number of years and now it is in its poorest condition yet. I live close by and always had great hope it would be a quality course. It was originally a 9 hole course then expanded to 18. The original 9 holes were always poorly maintained right from the beginning. The back nine were originally in pretty good condition; however, it did not take long for the condition to degrade.

For the past few years I limited play to just one or two times per year. Each time I hoped the owners would start putting some effort into restoring the course. Yesterday, I took a new player to the course. I am sad to report it is in the worst condition I have ever seen. I have never played ANY golf course that was in such poor condition. Most Tee boxes were weeds/dirt and fairways were mostly dirt with limited grass. It appears the only part the owners put any effort in are the greens, they are acceptable.

I realize in times of drought golf courses will suffer, but Bass Lake GC is in poor condition regardless. I hope a new owner who has the resources’ to rehabilitate the course can purchase it, if not, I am sure will not we able to stay open much longer.
