This was an amazing course. Driver will get you into trouble if you aren't paying attention. You must shape shots and play to distances. They don't allow you to walk, and for good reason, lots of elevation changes and distance between holes. Once you leave on 1, you don't come back the club house until you come back on 18. The driving range is a ways away, hopefully they can figure a way to put a short cut to it. I would absolutely suggest playing here. Just a fun course to play.

It seems like they spent their money in the right places. the greens are the best in the area, fast and true. The fairways and tee boxes are ok. and the pro shop is nothing more than a double wide. However, that should not deter you from playing this beautiful course. I liked the back nine slightly better than the front. I also played in the middle of December in a little rain. still absolutely worth it. Will be my course of choice when I'm visiting my parents who live in Mechanicsville.

I was pleasantly surprised in this course. Staff was super nice. They brought the car to our car and loaded our bags for us. Pro shop small but nice. Bar was Small but nice as well. The only thing I didn't love about this course was the greens. They were fast! Which is great however, you can tell this place gets a lot of traffic. Ball marks everywhere and not properly repaired. Ever green I made sure to repair two or three ball marks. So the ball had a tendency to bounce off my line. The fairways were nice and well maintained. Bunkers were mostly nice. Some were packed down from the sprinklers. Go figure that's where my ball would land and stop not in the nice fluffy parts of the bunker. I will most definitely be playing this course again.

I really enjoy this course. This was my home course for a while and would chose to play here more often than one of the courses closer to my home. This is a shot maker's course. A few blind shots, uphill and downhill shots. just a fun course. not overly long when you play from the correct set of tees. green are decent for the area. Augustine is always praised for how nice they are, but Lee's hill is in my opinion much better.
