Slow Play is the game of the day

When it takes four hours to play the Ridge course, that's slow play. When you are sitting waiting for the group ahead of you to play longer that you are actually playing the hole, that's slow play. Wait 17 minutes and play the hole in 9 minutes. They need to put a ranger to keep thing moving. They get your greens fees and forget about you on the course. SLOW PLAY.

Pace of Play

Kings Ridge is a great course to play. It is challenging and in good condition. That being said it does have some faults. Pace of play at the course is slow. Four and half to five hour rounds are common. No Range on the course to move slow players along. I have played there many only to quit because of the long waits. You wait longer than you play. You spend time watching other people play. A ranger or player assistant could help greatly. It would be in Kings Ridge best interests to put a range on the course.

Slow Play Killed the Day

Take a nice course like Kings Ridge and a beautiful sunny day to play golf and the slow play killed the day. It should not take five hours to play KR. The absence of a RANGER or PLAYER ASSISTANT makes for slow play. How much could it cost to put a RANGER on the course from 10:00am to about 3:00pm to see that play keeps moving. Also some the the pin placement on the greens are ridiculous, on side of mounds, at the edge of slope, which makes for many three and four putts. Great course but needs attention.

Golf Fees much too high for the course conditions.

I have played Stoneybrook West Golf many times over the past 20 years and the conditions today are far from good. The tee time fee of $60 is way too much for a course in these poor conditions. The greens are in the best condition because they are new, but are showing signs of neglect. The fairways are in such poor condition it is difficult to play iron shots without rolling the ball. The rough is rough mostly weeds and goose grass. I think you should give it a try and see for yourself but get the lowest possible rate you can.

Pin Placments

Kings Ridge 18 holes course is in real good condition. Fairway are nice, with good grass and the greens are rolling well but a little slow. My observation is that the PIN Placements seem to mostly be on the edges of the green about one flag stick from the edge and sometimes less than a flag stick. Some are about a club length from the edge. It makes for slow play. I hope there is a good reason for placing flags so close to the edge on most of the greens.

Need a range on the exc. Course

Pace of play on the Ridge course is unbearable. When it takes 4 hours to play an Executive course something is wrong. The cost the of championship course ($69 + tax) has forced many to play the exec. course ($38 + tax) . There is not a starter, there is not a ranger to keep play moving. The course is fun to play, its in good condition with some exceptions. I recommend the Ridge exec course if you have a lot of time and don't want to spend almost $70 and 5 hours on the Championship course.

Some greens TLC

Kings Ridge Executive course is a challenging course with some very good par 3 holes and 3 par 4 holes that are as very challenging. My only complaint is that some of the greens are in not in suitable condition for good putting. The course is fun to play. I would recommend to give it a try. It is not your average Executive golf course.

Members should be patient.

First let me say that Kings Ridge Champions course is in great shape. Great place to play. With that said I have a complaint . Played the course and the pace was excellent, until two members decided to jump on the course and played behind us and pushed our group. Talking loud and hitting shots to force us to play faster, except there were groups ahead of us holding us up. I have seen this before where members look for an opening and start playing, each player in their own cart and pushing the group ahead of them. Management should take notice that I paid to play Kings Ridge also and my fees help keep the members annual membership fee down.

SLOW PLAY

Course is nice. Greens are new and perfect for good putting. Fairways need work. Hard, dry and very tight make hitting good shots difficult. The number one problem is SLOW PLAY. We have played there 7-8 times since it re-opened and have yet to play a round in under 5 hours, unexceptionable.

Greens are fabulous

The greens are fabulous. Best greens I have played on in Florida in years. Ball rolled smoothly and true. See for yourself and play a round at Legends.

Greens, Greens, Greens

Must do something about the greens. It is very difficult to get a fair roll on bumpy greens. Punched on May 24th and still not in good shape. Still too bumpy. Makes getting a good score difficult. After all the course is in good shape, great layout, good price. Good greens would make in so much better.

Greens, Greens, Greens

One of my favorite courses has a greens problem. Many of the greens are in desperate need of attention. Greens are bumpy, many lack grass, you're putting on mud on some greens. Overall the course plays well except for the greens. They are going to do Aerification in May and that will take two months to be back to normal putting.

Play was slow

Killer of any golf game is slow play and no player assistant. Players playing the wrong tee boxes and standing around makes for slow play. Course is in good shape, greens are rolling better, but slow play kills the day. It should not take 4 hours and 45 minutes to play Kings Ridge.

Pace of play needs some attention

Kings Ridge is one of the nicest courses for the everyday golfer and it gets a good amount of play. Although the pace of play needs some attention. No starter and no player assistant, players fall behind and everyone gets backed up and the play becomes painfully slow.

Slow Play at its best

I play Kings Ridge several times a month and pace of play is starting to become an issue. There is no Player Assistant and thus makes for very slow play. Today our round took 4 hours and 50 minutes to play 18 holes. Normally you can play Kings Ridge in under 3 hours and 30 minutes. Something needs to be addressed on the pace of play. The course conditions are getting better everyday. Pace of play is a big issue at this point.

Greens

Greens need work. Some greens are bumpy and grass is uneven causing the ball to bounce instead of rolling. Great layout. Tee boxes are looking good, fairways are playable, but the greens need work.

Greens need work

Kings Ridge is one of the nicest courses around. But there are times in the year when the course is not enjoyable to play. The greens at Kings Ridge are bumpy and the ball does not roll well. When half your score comes from putting on greens that are well kept it makes the game fun. You can hit the ball well from tee to green but it is difficult to make putts because of bumpy or no grass on parts of the greens. If the greens run smooth Kings Ridge would be an excellent choice to play.
