Angus Glen Golf Club - South
Played On 11/04/2020Clark
The course itself is fine.
The Staff was either very poorly trained or just didn't care. I parked in the parking lot, walked over to the registration desk to pick up my cart. (100 metres). They wouldn't give me my cart, I had to walk back and carry my large cart bag to the cart. Then I couldn't take the cart from the cart lot, to ride to the club house to pay etc. (300-400m) so I had to walk there and back. Then I only had 3-5 mins to hit balls to warm up, as I wasn't allowed to go to the range until 5 mins before my tee time. I hit 8 balls and was told to leave. No marshals on course. Paired to two non golfers, who held up every shot, stood in front of us while we hit shots from the fairways... took 5 hours to play!
Worst golf experience every for a higher end golf course!
Avoid this place at all cost!
Century Pines Golf Club
Played On 06/04/2015Century Pines
Enjoyed the course, we had a 2:15 pm Tee Time.
The course was busy with other players, however the pace of play was good. It was groomed, greens in good order.
The only issues with the course is that 3 or 4 holes are laid out poorly, too short for par 4's. We played the Blue tees. #'s 4, 10, 11, 12.
Hidden Lake Golf Club - New Course
Played On 06/17/2013US Open Set Up?
The course was in good shape, however the rough was higher and ticker then usual. It took a few minutes to find each ball that was hit even a little into the first cut. It felt like a US Open set up.
The staff were good, it was a Monday and as it turns out that's Lady's Night, The staff worked to help us get out so we wouldn't be affected by the potential for slow play.
Millcroft Golf Club
Played On 6/6/2013Easy Access
This course is not the Pete Dye course it was designed to be, as the new ownership has removed many signature features. It is a well maintained course local to Burlington residence's. It's short and easy to play, no range or chipping area, but has a putting green.
Hidden Lake Golf Club - Old Course
Played On 05/15/2013Good Early Season
This course has filled in nicely with this spring weather. The fairways are in very good shape, the rough was in good shape (a little long, but it was a nice challenge).
Half the greens were in good shape, others were still growing in with some winter damage, but very playable. Hidden Lakes has a history of having well maintained courses.
All in all, a great afternoon and well worth playing.
Royal Ontario Golf Club
Played On 5/9/2013Great Golf Now Deal!
I played this course for the first time. It was well worth the great Golf Now Deal! $35 - less than half the reg green fee. It's introduced me to the course, and I'll come back with friends.
Nice club house, well groom flower beds, fairways and 1st cut were in great shape, greens are still a little long as its early in the season, but playable.
AS with other Kaneff courses I've played, it has a few 'goofy' holes, 292 par 4 that you can't hit more than 8 iron off the tee - just doesn't make sense!
We had a 'slower' group in front of us, and their etiquette took away from our experience (just play for the enjoyment of the game - 5 mins lining up a 4ft putt in a recreation game hmmm).
Thanks to Golf Town (even though I didn't appreciate the $6.80 plus taxes sir charge for completing the transaction) and thanks to Royal Niagara for offering a great deal!
Dragon's Fire Golf Club
Played On 5/2/2013Still in development
This course has potential, however it's still requires attention. There is no club house to speak of, and the level of 'attention to detail' is low. Other course's charging similar green fees, have very nice club houses, garden's, flowers and overall, a much nicer golfing experience.
The course itself is well laid out, and has potential, but it had some wet spots and the rough is not well managed. It is still early in the season, so the greens were very slow and poorly maintained.
It's a reasonable value at $50 a round - don't pay more.
