Redtail has a great layout, none.of the back and forth idiocy. The property itself was not at its best yesterday. The clubhouse has been torn down and is currently a vacant lot, so they now have a temp office trailer substitute. The fairways had these large 8 inch x 1/2 inch slice marks throughout the course, I'm assuming they're for aeration, but I've never seen it done like that before. Like everywhere, the green were full of unrepaired pitch marks. The Bunkers were not the best, the one I was in, had large stones in it. I look forward to going back next year when the course when is in its top form.

First time playing Steeple Chase and it lived up to all the great reviews. Great layout and the greens were in really good condition, speeds were consistent across the entire 18 holes. I highly recommend placing your approach shots below the hole because these greens are super slick when putting from above the hole. Most of the greens are undulated, and quite a few of the greens slope heavily from back to front. Overnight rain slowed the greens slightly, but they were still slick when I was above the hole. The course does not have a driving range, but it does have a hitting net with several mat stations. The practice putting green has plenty of hole locations to help familiarize yourself with all the different slope that you'll experience on course. I did not experience the clubhouse or dining so I can't comment on the food or adult beverage prices/selection.

Over all, the course was is great shape. Fairways rolled out and the greens were fast and pure. I did not have one single issue with any pitch marks, the greens were absolutely perfect. The course layout is very interesting. They have three 9's, Valley, Prairie & Creekside. I played the Valley & Prairie. The Valley course is only 2900 yards from the tips. I was only able to use my driver one time because of the doglegs and trouble, and that was on the 433 yd 9th hole. The Prairie course was longer, 3175 from the tips and was a totally different layout, so I was able to hit driver on all the par 4's & 5's. The only issue I noticed while playing, was that their bunkers do have small peebles mixed in with the sand, I personally was not in any of them but the guys I was paired with were and they took the time to rake the peebles away before hitting. Over all, I'd highly recommend this course, it was one of the best conditioned punlic courses I've played on all year, and doing it for $30 bucks via a hot deal made the experience even that much better!

First time playing this course and was pleasantly surprised. Great mix of dogleg lefts, rights and straightish holes. All the par 3's were fun, and they have a couple par 4's that offer risk & reward if you go for the green from the blue tee box. Greens were in good shape, and rolled really well, but like most courses, there are idiots who refuse to fix their pitch marks (grrrrr). Pace of play was great, played on Thursday in 2 1/2 hours...Now for the bad. The Bunkers, they are horrendous, didnt look like they had been worked in years. Most had rocks in them, and the rest had grass growing in them. Had the Bunkers even been remotely playable I would have given this place 5 stars overall. Sad part is, I seen guys out working the course, but zero focus on the bunkers!?!?. This course would be gorgeous if the Bunkers were maintained in playable condition. Even with the Bunkers being horrible, I'd still play it again if I can get a deal via Golfnow again!

This was my first playing Bartlett Hills and I was very impressed by the condition of the fairways and greens. Fairways were perfect and the greens were fast and rolled true. For a Municipal course the condition of both the fairways and greens were very surprising. The one bunker I found had dirt instead of sand and I did see a few stones. The course layout is very interesting, the front is tree lined and tight, where the back opens up and is a little more generous off the tee. Both 9's have plenty of elevation changes with quite a few elevated tee boxes. Overall, I enjoyed the course and will be back again, soon!

New to the Northern burbs, so this was my first time playing Redtail and I thought the course was awesome. Great value for the money, $38 for 18 w/cart on a weekday....I thought the layout was really good, very player friendly. Greens have plenty of slope, which could make them very challending when they start moving the pin around to the different areas. The course has plenty of elevation changes and elevated tee boxes thoughout the course. I was suprised to find the greens rolling as well as they were for the 20th of March. I can't wait to get back here later this summer when the course is green and playing at it's full potential.....5 Stars!

If you book on Golfnow, beware that caddies are MANDATORY. Upon checking in nothing was mentioned that a caddie would be mandatory, nor did it state this on GOLFNOW. But as we got to our cart a gentleman introduced himself and said he would be our caddie for the day. To that I advised that I did not need and that I would be using my own navigation to get around the course, but they refused to allow us on the course without a caddie. I explained to the caddie master that their booking service on golfnow does not state that a caddie is mandatory. Caddie master replied saying its mandatory, and if we wanted to play we had to pay. I would not play this course again purely based on this. Course conditions were good. Greens were hard, could not keep a ball near the hole. Lady clubs rentals are $75 and they are Titleist T300 irons with Tensei 35g graphite shafts, driver and woods are TSi1's with Aldila Assent 35g graphite shafts( the wife's new favorite clubs)......Mens bathroom on Hacienda course did not have a toilet seat, ladies bathroom had no light bulbs.

This was my first time playing this course and I found it to be in horrible shape. Most of the tee boxes were beat up and uneven. The greens looked like they had been punched weeks ago and nothing has been done to them since, no sanding, rolling, nothing, it was like putting on a gravel bed. The fairways were like hitting out of the first cut at most courses. I swear I had a few flyer lies because the grass was so tall...I gave this course 3 stars for value because I played it for $22 via a hot deal from golfnow. So had I paid full price, this place would have gotten 1 star for value. To be fair, I was told by a couple of regulars that the course is usually in better condition. That said, I will not be making the trip back to give it a second chance

Played The Brute for the first time yesterday for my Birthday. The layout of the course is awesome, I truly enjoyed the fact that I had to hit just about every club in my bag, whether it be because the hole required a certain shot shape off the tee, or because the hole required a layup etc. Greens were decent, but the speeds were widely inconsistent. Now, for the two things that made me give this place a 3/4 star rating. #1- The bunker were horrendous, they all had stones in them, some were large and were buried so I didn't see them and they damaged both my 54⁰ & 60⁰. There is no excuse for this type of sand at a resort of this caliber, completely unexcusable. #2- $8.50 for a beer, completely insane. You would think they'd have pristine sand in their bunkers after charging people these crazy beer prices!

The entire course was rock hard. Greens were beat up and the pins did not look like they had been moved in weeks. Bunkers were full of dirt and rocks bigger then a golf ball, even after lift, rake and place it still felt like I was hitting off of concrete. This is the worst i've ever seen the course and i've been playing it 4-5 times a year for the last 13 years because it's usually in great shape and it's close to home. The entire course needs water asap... Below average condition!

This was my first time playing here. The course was in good shape and the layout is very interesting. Front 9 is 3400 from the back tees(blue) front is 3000, think I used every club in my bag which doesn't happen very often so that was nice. Pace of play was great, we finished in 4 hours. Half way hut had $4 beers and $5 brats. Will go back again before the end of the season!

The course was overall in good shape. Bunkers were hit or miss. Greens were in great shape for the most part, only issue I noticed were a few dead spots on the 9th, but most rolled true amd were fairly quick. Tee boxes varied, I played the blue tees and they were all on, whites and red clearly get more play because they were beat up on all the Par 3 holes. The Clubhouse is closed so no food or alcohol. Pro shop has water and gatoraid that is over priced. The guy in the Pro shop told me to b.y.o.b the next time I play!
Overall it's a great value and I'll play again before the end of the year!

The course was in great shape. Greens were firm, fast and rolled true. This is a 9 hole facility, so switching up the tee boxes gives a different look to each hole when playing 18. I played the white tee's during my first 9 which play around 2900 yards and then played the blacks(tips) during my second 9 which around 3400 yards. The normal rate ranges between $49-$89 depending on what time of the day you tee off. I was lucky enough to find two really good Hot Deals on Golfnow, so make sure you download the app. This course is located in San Jose, so most of the holes run through or around homes and condo buildings within the Fortuna community so it can be tight off the tee box on a few holes, but most have wide player friendly fairways for you to hit but make sure you miss the strategically placed fairway and green side bunkers on just about every hole. Bunker sand is very good, but can be deep in a few green side bunkers so make sure you dig your feet in to gauge how you need to play the shot. Both of the Par 3 greens are two tiered with undulation, so they play very tough and can range between 165 and 200 yards depending on whether you play the whites or black (tips) tee's and where the hole is placed that day. Greens were firm, so make sure you take your approach shots in high and soft if you want to keep the ball close or play short if you have a lower ball flight that normally runs out. The Vidanta course now has a all-inclusive fee of $22 usd per person, this fee includes all drinks and snacks while on the course and then Taco's at the turn or after the round. All the staff was great and very friendly. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to play golf while on vacation and not break the bank while doing it!

From tee box to green this place was in horrible condition. Tee boxes were dirt. Greens were not even puttable, most had huge dead spots all over!

Save your money!

Course is in good shape. The greens are bumpy and do not roll very true, they are the worst i've played this yeat, some have dead spots or crusty areas. I've now played this course 4 times this season and each time the greens are getting worse!

Fun course with some great holes. This was my 4th time playing it this season and i've noticed the greens are getting more and more beat up with pitch marks. Pace of play is always great here. I highly recommend !

Greens were in Horrible condition. Beat up, chucks missing and extremely slow. By far the worst condition i've ever played on here.
Driving range was closed because they could not get any of the range balls picked up!

Must play if you want a fair challenge. When the wond is blowing the course can play extremwly tough. Greens were in great shape and rolled very true. All the fairways were in great shape as well!

Great course, i recommend playing here as soon as possible!
