Really short, average fairways with good greens

It's shorter then I expected - the West course was fairly crowded so instead we decided to play the East course. It was a Tuesday at 10:30 and fairly crowded with a mix of walkers and riders. There are only 2 tee boxes - no ladies tee. The greens were in really good shap some of the fairways were not and the bunkers were unplayable. The course is fairly wide with no real hazard in the rough. It's a fun little course, be prepared to wait on some holes. You can buy beer and premade sandwiches but that's all I could see.

Thank you for your feedback on your experience at Oakmont after the fires. We have had a lot of our great golfers coming back for a round of golf to relax which has created a demand, even on Tuesdays! Since the East course is a little shorter, we only have two sets of tee boxes, but our West Course has a third which some of our lady golfers prefer to play from. The clubhouse on the West course also has a little more in the ways of food and beverage options, and we hope you will book a round over there to check it out!

Golf course in name only

I am clueless as to the good reviews of this course, the only reason I played it was because I trusted them. The one review that said the back nine was totally different from the front is true but honestly it's so hard to even want to finish the front in order to get to the back and even though it's a better layout it's in the same condition as the front. Every fairway is littered with weeds - it felt more like playing on a country field then an actual golf course. I took pictures hoping to post them but I don't see an option. There's a significant amount of crab grass and weeds around the greens and the greens have a lot of brown spots.

This course is not worth playing at any price.

OK course for the price

We played this course based on the good reviews and the proximity to Asheville. For the price, I can't complain too much but would not play this course again. The greens were in great shape and had a moderate amount of difficulty. The tee boxes were in mostly terrible shape and the fairways average. It was a mix around the greens, you could easily be trying to chip from dirt or crab grass, rarely was there a good lie close to the green. We played a Thursday morning and there were a lot of walkers on the course ahead of us, pace of play was described as 4 hours for 18 but it took us 5 1/2.
