Lovin’ this place! We barely got out of the car to be greeted by a gentleman delivering our cart and offering to help with our clubs. The entire staff is outstanding: friendly and helpful. The course is a wonderful Nicklaus design that holds your interest throughout the round. Portions of the fairways were dry which is fully acceptable since we have had rain around here in weeks and temps in the 90’s. The greens had been recently dressed and were very fast. I fully expect the greens to be perfect next time I visit. Did I mention we really need rain?!?

Things got off to a rocky start. As mentioned in another review, the kid in the golf shop was kind of a jerk. The free lunch was awesome, as was the service in the restaurant. The driving range is a dump. Not sure it would even be fair to call it a range. The first fairway is burned out. But things did improve. The fairways need a little work overall but are certainly playable. Greens are in excellent condition. It’s a fun course and I will be back!

Really enjoyed my round at Deercroft! Overall condo was good, the greens are in excellent shape, albeit kinda slow. I will definitely go back!

This is a wonderful Ellis Maples design that has been badly mistreated. The greens have been painted to hide the fact that they don’t really have any real grass on them to speak of. Fairways are ok. The bunkers don’t even have rakes, for goodness sake. I guess ya get what you pay for. With a little TLC and a moderate amount of cash, this beautiful course could be rejuvenated and would be a real gem. Too bad ownership either doesn’t have the money or doesn’t care.

It had been awhile since I had played South Hampton and the improvements they’ve made to the practice facility are quite impressive. The course is in excellent condition and the greens are running fast and true! They have brand new golf carts! And I’m talking “can still smell the new” new! Very nice. Overall, as usual, it was a great day of golf at South Hampton!

Always a joy to play Bent Creek! The course was in good shape for this time of year and they have clearly done some work on the tee boxes since I played there in July. Greens were a little slow in spots but were overall in good shape. Good times were had by all!

The greens We’re over seeded and are perfect! The fairways were partially dormant so there were a lot of tight lies in the fairways. In all, the course is in good shape... with one exception: the tee boxes need to be dug up and re-built. They are not level and are badly chewed up. Finding a flat spot to hit a drive was impossible.

This is the third time I have played Bent Creek and it's always a fun place to tee it up. The staff is very helpful. Tom was our started and rather than just telling me I was next in the tee and that I would be joining a twosome, he took the effort to introduce me by name to the other two gentlemen before we went to the tee. I thought that was a classy touch.

The course is in good shape. Greens were the best I’ve seen them. But the tee boxes were trash on a couple holes and were not very level on several occasions. Nothing like hitting driver with the ball above it below your feel thru no fault of your own. Other that that conditions were excellent.

For a round of golf for under $30, ya can’t beat the value!

It was a mostly sunny day with temps in the 90's so the course wasn't hugely busy. As a result pace of play wasn't an issue. I have played here a couple times previously and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. The course was in really good condition considering a lack of rain lately. As usual, the greens were in great shape (although a couple had some burnout and were being re-seeded) and the fairways were also in excellent condition. Fleming Island has one of the nicest ranges you'll find at a public course! The turf was freshly mowed and in spectacular shape, multiple target flags, etc. Despite the heat, I had a great experience at Fleming Island from my first step into the Pro Shop until my final putt!

All in all, a very enjoyable day of golf! The staff was as accommodating and friendly as you could possibly ask for and the price was certainly right! The greens were maybe a little inconsistent speed-wise but still rolled nicely throughout. Fairways are in excellent shape! Fun day... can’t wait to go back again soon!

I have played here many times and have enjoyed it. The course is fair and fun. But the past couple of times I have played here, the greens have been trash! Most notably #15 look like someone dig up have the green and replaced it with dirt. But 15 wasn’t the only one. The course in general was ok but not in the condition you would expect for mid-late April in FL. The greens that weren’t trashed were painfully slow.

This was the second time I have played Hidden Hills and the experience was once again outstanding. The fairways are starting to get greener as Spring approaches. The greens were not as green but very fast and true. The combo of fast greens and high winds made putting very tough. My ball actually moved while I was standing over a putt on 15. I am anxious to play there again when the conditions are a bit more lush. This is a course I plan on playing a lot more in the future!

This was fun! I would echo the previous reviewer that the course is in pretty good shape for early February. The greens were true and FAST! This is a typically good AP course: fairly wide fairways, water where ya wish it wasn't and undulating greens. All in all, a great design that is fun, entertaining and keeps you on your toes throughout the day! I do question the choice of gas carts. Even though they are new, they're loud and stinky. I have family visiting from up north in March and I will definitely put this course on our list to play while they're here!

It's January in Florida. Most courses that are worth playing with Bermuda fairways will take the time, effort and money to overseed the fairways as to not make you feel like you're playing golf on the moon. Not the case here. So while I liked the course, I have to somewhat reserve judgement until I can play it under better conditions. I will say that the greens were in really good shape. They still showed sign of being punched late in the season but they rolled very true and were really nice to putt on. It's a great deal to get a round of golf, breakfast and lunch and a couple of beers for a very reasonable price! I will come back. I just hope for green fairways when I get there!

Firstly, my opinion of this course might be swayed by the fact that I played my best round in many years. That said, I was a little disappointed in the design and condition of the course. We have had a lot of rain here lately so the flooded bunkers and standing water in the rough is understandable. There were crews working hard to rake up the packed sand and clear the water. The greens were recently aerated so the greens were bumpy but recovering. But I really expected a better manicured track. The tee boxes are not level and poorly maintained. The fairways seemed to be in good shape. They were freshly cut and always provided a nice lie. I was also disappointed in the design. With the exception of two or three holes, I felt the design was fairly vanilla and wasn't hugely challenging.

Still had a blast!

I played this course on a beautiful Florida summer morning. This is (was) a beautifully designed Gary Player course that had been clearly neglected for many years. The tee boxes contain more weeds and crabgrass than anything resembling golf course strains. The greens actually rolled nicely but are infested with intruding vegetation and many bare spots. The fairways on the front hadn't been mowed in quite awhile and it was tough to recognize the difference between fairway and rough. The back nine was more enjoyable as the fairways were freshly cut meaning that hitting it "in the short grass" was rewarded with actual short grass! As I finished and drove away, I was left with the desire to contact Mr. Player to ask him to do something about this mess. I wonder if he knows that his beautiful creation has been treated so badly.

This is the only course in the world that Nicklaus and Palmer designed together. It is extremely difficult but very enjoyable. It's also a Five-Star gem from a design point of view. They have scattered the fairways with deep fingered bunkers that occasionally slope into water like a beach. Greens were slicker than rat snot on a water slide and most putts will slide through the perceived break. Bring your A Game for this one! Tough but a lot of fun!!

This place is awesome! The stretch of holes 3 thru 8 are some of the prettiest holes anywhere on the planet! I live locally and have wanted to play this course since it opened. It was better than I expected! Worth the $$$$!!!

Played as a single on a perfect Florida afternoon. The staff is friendly and very accommodating! this is a nice little golf course for a county owned course. The greens were in mostly good shape and were rolling pretty true, fairways could use a good mowing but were mostly good. Tee boxes are pretty beat up, but understandable considering the high volume of rounds that are played there! There are some beautiful holes throughout with a Pete Dye-esque feel to the design. All in all, a good time. Looking forward to playing there again soon!
