Circling Raven Golf Club
Played On 09/25/2019Five Star Experience
If you are looking for the five star experience, this is it!. This course is not for beginners, which is what I consider myself. The carts have top notch-GPS showing your location, distance to the green and tee, a cooler, a ball and club washer-first class! The seven miles of paved trail winds-I don’t think there was straight section of cart path-through a tunnel, over several wooden paths through wetlands, and a bridge over the railroad tracks. The fairways are twisty with frequent choke points, but in excellent shape, as were the greens. The feeling of isolation and being away from it all is really relaxing. Saw a couple of deer at 17th hole too.
On almost every tee shot, you are hitting over tall rough or wetlands, so worm-burners with your driver won’t cut it. Add to that lots of bunkers and a fair amount of wind makes this course challenging for experience players. I was fortunate enough to be pair with two employees from the casino-Wil and Arnet-who were patient, helpful and made experience a very positive thing for me. I’ll be back when I have a little more consistency in my game!

Immaculate fairway and greens! Seriously. Better than any course in Spokane. A nice variety of holes with a good variance of difficulty. My golfing buddy I went and the pro shop were able to fit us in two hours later after the morning rains. Amazing view of the mountains in the distance. And for $32 each, you can’t beat that. My new favorite course!
Indian Canyon Golf Course
Played On 08/14/2019Worth the cost?
Scenic view over-looking Spokane. Tons of elevation, narrow fairways and tricky green-all of which were in excellent condition. This is not an easy course and would say the slope rating should be higher than what is listed. There had been a tournament prior to our 3:30 start time, so the greens were fast. There was almost no one else playing, but for $61, I understand why. Lots of jets taking off from GEG. I think there are better value courses to play. Spokane County has to get the prices down if they want people to come out!
Sun Country Golf Resort
Played On 07/31/2019Fun in the Sun Country!
Since I stumbled across this course, I have been wanting to play it and I wasn’t disappointed. The weather was near perfect-near because the wind was blowing pretty good (15+MPH), but because most of the fairways are tree-line, the wind was limited except on holes 6-8. On the holes, it really affected play.
The greens were in great shape and are not overly difficult, fairways are a bit narrow here and there-bring extra balls! Leanne in the pro shop was very helpful and even the maintence guy was friendly and helped me get a pheasant from underneath my cart!
My only negative comment was they need another set up bathrooms around hole 9/10. There are a pair at 4/13, but one more would be really nice!
Wandermere Golf Course
Played On 07/12/2019Great Course-Slow Play
Wandermere Golf Course was THEE course that got me interested in golf. I golfed once a year in a charity event-the National Rehabilitation Association and though I played horribly, everyone at the Pro Shop and running the event was always friendly and helpful. After my third year, I decided to get my own clubs, and I was hooked.
We played on a Friday, July 12th, after a tournament and it seemed very disorganized. We had to wait twenty minutes for cart because they didn’t have enough-I am not sure why you would open your course to the public knowing you wouldn’t have enough carts? Once we got our cart, the rate of play was painfully slow. At one point, we were stacked up three groups deep at the 7th waiting for a pair of old ladies who were walking-and probably should have been in a cart-to finish their play. Three hours on the front nine. Ouch! No Marshall in sight? The back nine was better just over two hours.
The tournament on the 16th also had some slow players on the front nine, but again, seemed to speed up. Friday it was hot and dry, and Tuesday, we had a massive downpour at team time and in both instances, the greens and fairways were in excellent shape and played well.
Once of my favorite courses, and you can’t beat the price, especially compared to the county courses!
The Fairways
Played On 06/26/2019Risk vs Reward
A fun, links-style course, but despite that, bring some extra balls. The rough is very tall, and twelve of the eighteen holes have water hazards. This course has a lot of interesting risk/reward holes, especially on the back nine. Despite the high number of balls I lost, I still had much fun on this course. The greens were fast and tricky. You can also usually find deals for this course on Golfnow app.
Leavenworth Golf Club
Played On 06/13/2019Beautiful Course, Beautiful Day
A beautiful course, with narrow fairways, well-kept greens and an abundance of wildlife on and around the course made for a delightful experience. The lady at the Pro Shop was very helpful, and I was teamed up with an experienced golfer (Scott from Post Falls) who knew the course very well. I only played the front nine, but really enjoyed course and would recommend for new golfers like myself.
Pine Acres Par 3 Golf Course & Driving Range
Played On 06/09/2019Brush up on your short game!
Brush up on your short game at this little course. Or your long game since they have a driving range. The 3 par 9 hole is the perfect thing needed to fine tune your game. I wish the owner would sink some money into maintaining the greens better as they are in pretty bad shape. If it’s windy, expect pine needles to litter the greens too-maybe bring a broom with you! 115 is the longest fairway, the shortest 65, so you only need a few clubs to play the course. Greens are tricky, made tougher by how beaten up they are. I’d like to see the owner put in a sand bunker and a water hazard, but they don’t seem interested in investing any money in the place.
Trailhead Golf Course
Played On 06/07/2019Work out your swing
I have played this course many times, and I enjoy getting in a quick nine after work, or figuring out an issue I have with my swing. I don’t like how much the prices jumped from last year-$17 including a push cart, to $22 this year, but they fixed an long overdue drainage problem the course had. No more water hazards on the fairway! With four three and four pars, and a par 5, you get use a wide variety of clubs. Just enough bunkers and a water hazard to make it interesting, this is my go to place when early in the season and when I am trying to work an issue out with my swing. Staff is always friendly, and a great Mexican restaurant for a cool beverage afterwards-food is good too!
The Legacy Resort at Frenchman Hills
Played On 05/24/2019A Promising Course
As a new golfer who got a two free rounds, I liked the setup of the course because it's short and has the lowest slope rating of any course in the area. Alas, it was a wet and windy day when we played.
Let me stay the ladies at the Pro Club-Noel and Chris-were super friendly and should be given a raise for answering all of my dumb questions!
The course itself is a mixed bag of link style with a few narrow fairways. There were some greens that made the experience a bit frustrating and some of the signs listing yards was completely wrong-there was no way 13 was a 170 yards. A few of the holes need some high fences to protect vehicles, specifically 13 & 18.
Overall a really fun course and I can't wait to see the finished product. It's a two hour drive from Spokane, but I am sure I will play it again.
