I have played here many times over the past few years. There is a lot of talk going around about how much money golf courses are making since Covid - and how many of them are just sticking it to the golfer, and nothing is being put back into the course to give us better conditions or a better experience.
This is not so with The Bridges. I have seen so many changes, improvements, and overall better quality of the course since Covid, and it is nice to know that a business truly cares about its patrons.
In my recent play - the course was being prepared/set up for Korn Ferry Tour 1st Stage Qualifying. The greens were in excellent condition, as they always are. Fairways had a few rough spots which would be expected with the drought and heat we have had but were good as well. Tee boxes were good too. Ohhh, and the rough...... well, you better tie a rope to your cart when you go into it because you might not be able to find your way out!! It is BRUTAL!!
Bridges has to be one of the best deals in and around the DFW metro - with or without a Hot Deal.

First off, ignore all the reviews that say it’s the best course they have played in Texas, or well worth the drive from Austin or San Antonio.

Now, with that said, I’m a +2 and shoot low 70s all the time. Got a deal on GolfNow so me and a buddy drove 80 miles up to play it.
Easy check in and friendly staff. Big driving range with good lies and grass. Great chipping and putting area. Balls are included in price.
Course is short at 6500+yds, and is built in a senior residential community. Front 9 has a great layout and mix of holes that runs through the housing development.
Back 9 is a completely different course built up in the hills with blind shots, and most all shots being either uphill or down. This is not a negative, but the 2 9’s just don’t blend.
Course conditions were very good. Tee boxes and fairways were well maintained as were the bunkers.
The greens were great. Not really fast, but not really slow either. Rolled true and consistent. But again, the back 9 greens are totally different in that they all have many separate levels and tiers. If you are on the wrong tier - good luck.
Overall - we liked the course, the staff, the conditions, and the layout.
Would I play it again? Sure - if I was in the area, and I got another deal on GolfNow. It’s a decent track, but sorry guys, both Austin and San Antonio have good courses too, for a lot less.

Played there for first time today, only because I wouldn’t pay the $119 they always wanted. Got a deal on GN, so figured I would try.
Very boring layout and design. Back and forth, back and forth. Nothing really special about any of the holes. Very disappointed for a Fazio design. By the time I got to the back 9, I almost fell asleep.
I play quite a bit, and love a good challenge - something that makes me focus, or at least has some character.
In all fairness, staff was super friendly, course was in good shape considering 2 hurricanes in last 3 months, greens weren’t bad either.
Not worth $119 buck though, and maybe not half that.
I’m sure I’ll play it again, but only if it’s a really cheap rate.

I’ve played The Bridges for over 5 years now. Over the past couple months, I’ve been pleasantly surprised every time I play here. The course is in the best condition that I have ever seen it in. Greens are very good, fairways are the best they have ever been, and tee boxes are good too. They put all new green side bunkers in, and even though they still need to settle they are better than before., and the fairway bunkers are still good too. Took a buddy up who had played there before too, and he was blown away by the conditions.
I’ve even seen a cart girl the last few times I’ve played. The Bridges still has its bite, with fescue and rough that you could lose your kids in, and reasonably firm fairways. But, it is a much more enjoyable round, and a great test for anyone.

First time playing TR. got a deal on GolfNow. Drive from north side of town.
Great layout, good mix of holes that challenges your tee shots and short game. Very fair, and challenging, rewarding for the right play on each hole. Scenic Hill Country golf in the DFW metro.

Read some of the prior reviews on here, and had to input my own.
In all honesty, I have a friend that lives in The Bridges neighborhood and is a member of the club. I have played there many times but am not partial to any course and would have no problem hammering them with a bad rating if such was deserved.

With that said, I am a better player, and like challenging tracks that make you think and hit different shots. The Bridges gives you all of that. Better pick the correct set of tees, and leave the ego at home as the wind always blows up there. Ya the fairways are wide and fairly easy to hit, but the difficulty comes on your approach shot. Most look sublime and not intimidating, but miss the green on the wrong side and you better be a magician to get up and down.

Make your hay on the front nine as the back gets tougher and harder. A lot of good risk/reward shots. Ya they just punched the greens a couple weeks ago, but so did everybody else. And if you want the nice greens, you kinda have to do this. They have since come back nicely, and these are some of the best greens to putt in the Metro day to day. Very fast and true. If you are above the hole or short sided, forget it!

The staff is awesome, and are very friendly. You have to remember that this a a private club that allows the public to come play. I've never seen a marshall up there and honestly don't want to. Most all of the members are respectful and quick and have no problem letting you play thru if they are holding you up. Usually not a cart girl either but if you are hungry, eat before or stop at the turn and get a sandwich in the bar. They always have plenty of water coolers out and it is always very fresh and COLD!

My only complaint is a design flaw of the course - the driving range does not drain well so any time it rains, the range is closed. Oh well. They do have great putting greens and chipping greens.

Overall a great Freddy Couples course, and to my knowledge, the only one in our area. Play it while you can

I've played this course several times now. I am somewhat new to the area and have been looking for a "regular" course to play/practice at. Well, I found it. Great price for the course. Course is in good condition, especially for winter. Good mix of holes with all different shots and challenges. You can't just go out and bang it all over the place, but, if you favor certain sides of a hole, the course is very playable and gettable. Good greens especially for December. Plenty of options for distance with several different tee boxes. Pace of play was very good also - I played here recently on a really nice Friday and the course was packed - thought it was going to be all day but when we finished I looked at watch and round took just a few minutes over 4 hrs!!
Practice facility is all you want - if you can't work on your game here, you are beyond help. Driving range, huge chipping areas, huge putting greens, short game area, and much, much more.
Best part of course and the main thing that is going to bring me back is the staff. Most professional and courteous staff I've seen in the Metro. Guy at the counter (I think it was Judson?) is the most polite, respectful, friendly and helpful guy I've met at a course. Starters and marshals were all very friendly and respectful also.
These guys value your business and it shows. What a course should be run like!

Greens are dead. And when I say dead, I don't mean the grass is just dying. It's already dead and gone. Most greens are just packed dirt now with little plotches of grass here and there. The rest of the course is in pretty poor shape too. Took a buddy who had never been there - what an embarrassment.
Also, greens are so bad, even if they completely shut them down today, they still wouldn't be able to get them back this year.
