East at Woodlands Country Club
Played On 12/26/2019Pretty good for the weather that week.
Played this course last year as well. The course is in better condition now, and it rained all week here.
Pace was slow, but expected I guess for holiday week.
Greens putted very well, and held well too.
Reception and starter were not well trained, but shop staff were good, and clubhouse lady was exceptional.
Will probably play here again next time in town.
Oaks at Palm-Aire Country Club
Played On 03/13/2019Nice layout, Some embarrassing conditions
Nice layout, but some holes had tee pads that were rediculously bad. They were basically weeds and sand. Some spots on fairways had no grass as well.
Too bad for this as it is a nice layout. Most greens were decent.
I’d play it again if they overseed it.
Paid $51 on GolfNow and played the Oaks course in 3 hours (started at 7:25 am in a twosome).
Good guys in shop and outside.
Pittsburgh National Golf Club
Played On 03/27/2016Excellen layout with flatter terraine for this area.
Great golf course with a variety of tee decks to choose from. Course is much flatter than most in the area, with only about 2 blind shots the entire round. Nice practice area to warm up, pro shop and staff were average service. Course was in great condition for March.
Pheasant Ridge Golf Club
Played On 03/26/201612 Holes have Blind Shots!
Fist off, the staff was excellent. Very nice people in the pro shop and the Marshall was great. The golf course was in good condition for March, for sure. However, this golf course has more blind shots, due to elevation changes, than anything I've ever played around the world. There was only divot holes on the range to hit from and the range is "irons only" and the balls were brutal. I would not play there again only because I'm not a big fan of surprises in golf, even after seeing it once. However, if you enjoy "adventure" golf this place is for you. Again, staff couldn't have been nicer.
Pines at Woodmont Country Club
Played On 02/11/2015Very good layout with good conditions
This was the best of the 3 courses I played while on vacation in Fort Lauderdale area.
It was a way better layout and course conditions than TPC or Inverarry.
TPC still had the best service and atmosphere however.
Great deal for $25 on Golfnow.com at 3pm (and finished!)
Eagle Trace Country Club
Played On 02/10/2015Good Choice if you get a Good Deal
I have played other TPC courses and this one is of lesser condition and lay-out, but it was okay. It is a true stadium course built for lots of fans to watch golf, but "aahh" factor. The service and staff were excellent. The food was very good as well. The range was very good with good grass and targets.
The course conditions were good, but not as pristine as I expected. Maybe the time of year was the cause.
I got a deal from Golfnow.com for $69 that included a-la-carte lunch, range, cart. Although it was an overall good experience, I wouldn't hurry out to play it again. But, worth it once for the right price.
Thanks to all staff for excellent service.
Trehaven Golf and Country Club
Played On 08/20/2014Good for some, but not alll...
The course has been upgraded recently I'm told, so I tried it for $15 with cart through Golfnow. But they are charging too much for this course with normal pricing ($40 tax in). The proshop staff (older guy) was kinda cold and range balls are $15 for a bucket!!!!
It is very short so it would be great for shorter hitting women, very flat so good for seniors and juniors as well.
Oak Bay Golf Course
Played On 05/12/2014Very Scenic, but way too tight!
Great spot, but way too tight from the tips. Play it up from the whites or less to really enjoy this beautiful track. Super service and friendly proshop staff too.
Hawk Ridge Golf and Country Club - Meadow Nest
Played On 04/21/2014Good Course, some staff a little cold, while others great!
I enjoy the lay-out and condition of this course and have played it a few times. Most of the staff are very nice, but some are not golfers and are cold and dismissive. They do have some odd rules like not allowing play until 9am until late in May, and (as one previous poster stated) they kick you off the course long before dusk so that they can go home! Also, you cannot use the men's locker room to change your clothes (neither can the members I'm told!) I have never heard of that before until here!
Overall, I'd recommend to play the course, but not too early or too late in the day! I may even join this club.
Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course
Played On 03/13/2014Good layout, but over priced.
I was on vacation and the course was close to our hotel and I had already played other courses that week. It was going to be between Champions Gate National and Disney for my final round.
I chose Disney and I enjoyed the service and course layout a lot but the conditions were fair to good at best (recently top dressed greens and inconsistent speeds).
The price was way too high for the conditions ($120), but overall I'm glad I played it once.
I liked the fact that there was almost no blind shots and the risk/reward was fair. I also liked the variety types of holes.
I would play it again but only if the price was better.
Desert Canyon Golf Club
Played On 1/2/2013Very scenic, but not a "WOW!" lay-out.
I had very high expectations for this course, but the holes were very short requiring a lot of irons off of tees. At about 6500 yards from the blues it played more like 6000. I chose to play the blues instead of the blacks because it was very cold that day. The bunkers need work and the greens were a good challenge, but patchy. This is not a desert lay-out.
I would recommend the course but wouldn't pay over $75.
The scenery from every hole is spectacular however, and the homes around the course are amazing.
