Good Condition

Course was in good condition tee to green. Greens were not receptive and also had lots of undulations. Would have liked to see a quicker pace of play as we were a twosome and waited on all shots. Overall the pace was about 4.5 hours. Staff was friendly and the day was enjoyable. Seems a little overpriced but worth playing at least once.

Poor Layout

Too many holes play in the wash on the North. South is better layout. Didn’t feel this was resort-worthy course so glad we played when rates were cheaper. Course conditions were acceptable for summer. Greens were nice but on the slow side.

Nice Course

Course was in great shape and staff very cordial. Always a joy to play. Play it in the fairway and it's a pretty easy ride. Spray the ball and you'll find one of the many bunkers or even desert. When we've played here before, pace hasn't been an issue but when we played on 10/6, pace was right at 5 hours. There were not gaps ahead of us that we could tell so everyone was pretty much slow. Only on 1 hole did we have to wait for several groups to tee off...the rest of the time, we were pulling up to the tee as the group ahead was leaving the tee.

Tough Rough, Long Day

Course was in great shape. Be prepared for thick, deep rough which makes it difficult to find your ball if you stray from the fairway. The course expects a 4-1/2 hour round and it takes every minute of that and even more. Our round on the Nicklaus Course was right on 4-1/2 hours but we played the Tournament Course the previous day and it was 5 hours. I think the course would do better to make the rough less punitive for the amateur golfer and expect a 4 hour round. Frankly, I don't have the patience for a 4-1/2 to 5 hour round. We typically play in less than 4 hours as a 4-some or 2-1/2 to 3 hours as a 2-some. We were planning to play the Norman since we haven't played it in years but I can't take another 4-1/2 to 5 hour round so we are changing plans.

Plays Too Slow

We drove in from the Palm Springs area where it was 120 degrees to get a little cooler playing conditions. Evidently so did a lot of other folks. The course was busy despite the 108 degree temperature and it was an almost 5 hour round. While we enjoy playing this course and play it several times a year, a 5 hour round is not tolerable. We went off as a twosome behind foursomes but quickly joined up with the twosome behind us. Nice folks but only 1 bag for 2 people. Made the play seem even slower than it was...despite this we were waiting on the group ahead of us on every shot. Surprised the course would permit anyone to play who doesn't have a bag of his own. Overall, we're glad we played because we wouldn't have been able to play at all had we stayed at home yesterday.

Worth Playing

The course was in excellent condition when we played. Greens were running about 9.5 and rolling smoothly. Challenging but fair course with reasonably wide fairways. Some significant carries from the middle to back tees. Althought the staff was friendly, the course is missing the "TPC experience". There is no club house and there were no towels for the cart. This should improve with time as the surrounding subdivision recovers from bankruptcy. The course covers an extensive area so the carts are gas (and noisy). At the right price we would, however, play again as we had a great time and enjoyed the course a lot. Of the 5 rounds we played in Naples, this is in the top 2.

Super Condition, Friendly Course

We really enjoyed our round. Fairways and greens were in great shape. Greens are slower than we are accustomed to and you must chip onto the green as the ball generally doesn't release when hit into the fringe. Nice track...would definitely play here again. Driving range is a lake with some floating greens...kind of funky but also unique and fun for a change.

Too Many Elevated Greens

The course is straightforward except that all holes have seriously elevated greens along with severe undulations. If you come up short of the green, you'll be tempted to flop the next one. Greens were quick and rolled well. We enjoyed our day but probably won't play Eagle again as the design of the greens is too punishing. Even a well-struck chip can hit the green and roll off the other side.

Tricky Greens

Mountain course was in great condition having just finished overseeding. Greens were very quick and had lots of breaks so putting was difficult. Nice layout with scenic views of surrounding mountains. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Would definitely play again if we were in the area. Allow extra time to get to driving range and practice putting...both are a distance from the golf shop via the cart path. Also, car parking is shared with hotel so might not be able to park close.

Too many blind shots

My husband and I played on a recent trip to Tucson. We were excited to play as this is a top-tier course in the area. Unfortunately, the day was not the best. We were paired with a couple of guys who were high handicappers and really shouldn't have been playing from the same tee box as my husband who is a low handicapper (or, even from my tee box). Course management is a huge issue as there are many blind shots off the tee. For the high handicapper, be aware there are more than a handful of very long carries off the tee. Also, the par 3's were almost all 200 yards so you don't get any breaks. I played from about 5900 yards and had fewer blind shots than my husband but my Par 3s were also very long so the 1 birdie I made was purely a stroke of luck. The course was in great shape since they had just finished overseeding. Staff was friendly. Just wouldn't recommend this course unless you like being frustrated.

Enjoyable Course

We've been wanting to play this course for a while so we were really looking forward to playing. The day went well, course is very nice, pace was a little slow due to the heavy play. Condition of the course was good. We were really surprised at the driving range that had mats instead of a grass hitting area...and, the range reminded us of a typical muni. Overall, we are glad we played at Harding Park but don't think it's worth the price for non-residents.
