The crowning achievement of Donald Ross, restored by Coore/Crenshaw to resemble its beginnings. Spectacular holes, easy to walk layout, challenging greens, and history walks with you as a playing partner.

This is not a real "Ross" course. Some holes have the right flavor, but many show that they were designed before Mr. Ross arrived and before he acquired his towering skills as a designed. #9 gets lost because the course was changed to accommodate the US Open. There are some scenic holes but, in comparison to the other courses at Pinehurst, this is plebian.

I struggle with the concept of golf cart required golf courses. It is not a sport if you cannot walk the course. On the front side, the meanders to and fro and has mindless walking between green and tee. The back side is a little better, but I will not return here.

Wonderful course, always in good shape with lots of different looks and many interesting holes. Only shortcoming is that you cannot walk.

The information on this course is wrong, It is a 5,155 yard (executive) course from the tips. To call it a Ross course is not fair to Mr. Ross. most of the holes are considerably different from his original layout and the recent additions are cramped and, occasionally, dangerous when you are standing on the next tee.
Sad to see such bad things done to such a great place.

For what it is and where it is, the condition it was in was amazing. Course was early summer green, and played up to snuff - greens a little slow because of heavy rainfall the day before, but the staff works hard to keep an over-played "city course" in good shape!
