Great Track!

Great layout, a fair amount of water, but very playable for all skill levels with the right set of tees. What I like most about the course is all the holes are solid. Some definitely stand out, but there isn't one hole that stands out as a dud. There are multiple hole where you stand on the tee and say WOW, that's a beautiful hole. It passes the WOW factor in my book. Need to keep your driver hitting it relatively straight, or you will find sand and/or water. Would definitely play it again, well worth the price.

Nice Course but Boring

I have to admit, I was disappointed with the course given the name (Ritz) and the fact that they have the PGA Father & Son there. The course is nice and well maintained, but there isn't one hole where you stand on the tee and say WOW. It's a nice layout, but boring. Nothing stands out (except the prices for everything). If offered, I'd play it again, but would probably take a chance on a course I've never played before I came back. Staff was great and attentive.

Great Experience but way over rated

Yes, it's a bucket list course. Yes I get the "it's the whole experience" thing. Facilities are second to none, caddie and walking the course is the way golf should be played. Everything about Pinehurst is great. But if just talk about the course, #2 isn't that "great." Greens are borderline goofy golf, and the rest is beautiful, and can played at several other courses right down the road. Nothing different about it than Pine Needles? Dormie's a way better Track. It's a beautiful above average track with goofy greens. Was the experience great, yes. I Paid $195 + $65. And am satisfied with checking it off my bucket list. But I wouldn't pay it again. And NO WAY would I pay $400+. And you wantto know how nice Pinehurst Management is, there is a sign right where you pay, No rain checks given for any reason. If you pay for your round and they tell you to get off the course because of lightning, no refund. That is a ridiculous policy and definitely not customer friendly. I'm glad I played it and the "experience" is amazing, but it's just not that great of a course. Sorry, very nice but over rated. No way #2 should be in the Top 50 courses.

Nice Track

For a Public Course, this is a great track. Good choice of tees to pick from, nice course layout. Conditions are OK to slightly better than average. Only issue with the course is that the pace of play is always horrible. They overbook and don't manage anything once people are out on the course. I have never had a 4 1/2 hour round, it's always 5+.

Nice Layout

nice layout and course was in good shape. Houses line many fairways which takes away from the "out in the desert" feel. Greens were FAST and rolled true. I'd go back. A little pricey though.

Nice Dye Layout

Nice Layout. Course in fair shape, grass is not too thick, actually thin in many areas. Biggest issue is the price, just not worth the $90, especially for a course that is "rough", not manicured. Sand in trap is sparce in areas, mud, etc. Nice Dye layout.

Bucket List Course, does not disappoint.

Visually Stunning, unbelievable layout. Course is challenging, but surprisingly not as challenging as anticipated. Obviously need to play the right tees. The $500 is a hard pill to swallow, but I'd recommend it once. Probably would not spend it again, but definitely worth it to check it off the bucket list. It's an amazing experience and a fair test if you can keep the ball in play, etc.

Boring traditional layout

The course is a solid average. Traditional tree lined fairways going back and forth and back and forth. Not a good course for a high handicapper. Very nice staff and the greens were in excellent condition. Just thought the layout was boring and overall, not a very manicured course. Lots of ground under repair that isn't marked, lots of dirt (no grass), etc. Just trees on both sides of the fairway, back and forth, back and forth. Overall, better than some of the other courses in the area for sure.

Nothing Special

Some nice holes on the course, but some very odd/short "goofy golf" holes to take away from the good ones. Greens were not in bad shape, but overall course was not in the best of shape. Very tight, and tees and greens very close together on many occasions, making you watch that no one was hitting into you.

Have to say it, the worst smelling clubhouse in the world. One whiff when you walk in and you can smell the mold and/or whatever else it is. When you walk in your natural reaction is to dry heave, it's horrible.

Bucket List Course Caliber, but not worth $400.

This is a bucket list course, and I'd say play it once, but after that, not worth the $400. There are other Bucket List courses that would be more worth the $400. I think I'd save the small fortune and go play Streamsong for less than $200 (this time of year). Can't say anything bad about the conditions or layout, but I keep coming back to the $400. I admit to having golfers remorse. I should have stopped after my first visit. Not worth a second visit. Overall, I guess hold your nose and play it once, but many other similar caliber courses that you can get more value out of. Also, cart path only makes for a long day.

Great Track!

This course is so unique and non-traditional. Mike Strantz's amazing imagination created a real beauty here. Every hole is unique and fun to play. You need to play it more than once, there are a few blind shots that you could do without, but once you've played it, it's not a problem. Traditionalist may not like it, but they will respect it. Awesome track! Super fun with some buddies. Play the right tees or it could make for a long day. Only complaint is all the good press has gone to their head, green fees continue to go up. At some point, it won't be worth it. Course is always in great shape.

Below "Dye" expectations, but still a nice layout

Overall, this course is a nice layout. Definitely above average and very playable.

Not a lot of trouble, not a lot of trees. Doesn't have the same Pete Dye feel that many of his other courses have, no forced carries, no elevation changes, etc. But it's an enjoyable layout on a nice piece of flat property by the river. Views are beautiful

I'm used to playing well manicured Dye courses, this is not one of them. Conditions are OK, but this course would not be considered "manicured." Not to say that it's in poor condition, it's not, but it's not kept at the higher level that one would expect at a course that charges $80 green fees in late October.

Overall, I will go back. I'll complain about the price, it's not an $80 course, but the views are beautiful, and it's a nice layout. I can't think of a bad hole on the course.

#1 Overpriced Course in PA

This is a beautiful course. Well maintained, well manicured, and always in good shape. Nice interesting and unique layout, never too crowded that I've seen.

Several holes are on the slide of a mountain, which are a little sketchy, but easily overlooked on an overall basis.

Plain truth is it's a nice track, and everything is positive except that it is ridiculously overpriced. It's not a $150+ course.

Some articles rate it as Pennsylvania's #1 Public Course. I respectfully disagree. It might be top 10, but no way #1. If you are looking for #1, try Mystic Rock or Bedford Springs? Both Public and closer to worth the large sum of $.

Sorry, again, nice layout and well maintained, but it's just not a $150 course.

This course is a Ball Buster

Positive: Course is very challenging, many holes are target golf. Need to leave the driver in the bag on several holes.
Probably easier after you play it a few times, but this course has several holes that are extremely difficult playing for the first time.

Negative: Many blind shots, have to play a few times to know the lay of the land, etc.

Overall, a nice track. Looking forward to playing again so I know where to hit the ball.
