Tough course

Conditions are great at this course, however every par 5 has water in front of the green preventing you from getting there in 2 unless you carry the ball 250 with a 3 wood...the greens are almost unputtable from some positions...I was in the area for two weeks and this was my worst round of golf...I shot 87 here with 34 putts but shot 72 the next day at Virginia Beach national...I guess that's golf. I hit the green on 10 about 8 feet above the hole and tapped my putt, it ended up off the green 20 feet away...that's either poor pin placement or insane green speeds

Tough from the tips

I have played this course many times and most of the time the greens are excellent. They are still bumpy and slow after the aeration earlier this month so puts that should have gone it don't. Also, I was paired with a group that wanted to play from the back tees which was OK with me since I am a 6 handicap. In fact I enjoyed the round except one of the guys would hit 3 or 4 balls off the tee like we were at the driving range...very annoying. In conclusion, this is probably my second favorite course in this area, Kelly Plantation being #1. Good mix of long and short holes with variety.

Twilight rate is a winner

I'm sure during the winter this course is pristine, however the tee boxes were burnt out when I played 9/15/13. In fact several areas were really dry. I don't mind a dry fast golf course if the greens are holding....and they were perfect! Gorgeous setting with lots of floral elements, water falls, tranquil mountain views. The few homes around the course weren't even noticable, unlike some courses that build right on top of the course. I wouldn't pay $245 for this course, but it was worth $125 at twilight. The starter put me out ahead of some groups and I breezed through the course in less than 2.5 hours....met a nice couple on 16 and we played the front nine again before it got dark. I'm a 6.2 handicap and shot 75 from the white tees...so its not that tough...fun course.

Good value for a resort area

This course has 3 nine hole courses that play very different. They sand the greens often in the summer which seems to affect short puts more than long ones. Overall a fun course with strategy needs off the tee.

One of the best courses in the area

Second only to Kelly's plantation as one of my favorite courses in the Destin/Sandestin area. Great layout with a great variety of holes. You will hit everything from long irons to a sand wedge on the par threes. Closing 3 holes are really tough. Fantastic!
