Brickshire Golf Club
Played On 06/10/2023First time at course
Course is very hilly and some blind shots off the tee, so first time can be a bit challenging. But fun course and greens were in good condition
Callahan Golf Links
Played On 07/19/2020Fun course
First time playing Callahan - not sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Fun course and good design. Next time should be better now knowing how each hole plays, but overall conditions and pace were good. Definitely check out this good public course!
Woodmont Golf & Country Club
Played On 07/12/2020Good course and greens were solid
Very good choice for us public golfers - and for a Sunday afternoon, pace of play was good. Had a couple holes where the group in front thought they were could reach the green in two (not even close) but that is standard these days.
Challenging course and greens were holding and had a stint of 10-11.
Chestatee Golf Club
Played On 05/17/2020Great conditions
Greens are in great condition with exception of those folks who refuse to repair hallmarks. and overall, entire course in Very shape. Fun course to play and course pace of play was good.
The Georgia Club - Chancellors Red/Black Course
Played On 04/14/2018Another good day at GA Club
Great course and conditions are really starting to look good for early March. One of the best designs in the Atlanta area. If I lived a bit closer, I'd join this club.
SummerGrove Golf Club
Played On 04/08/20181st tee time of the day
Being first out of the box led to great pace of play. Course design is good and while it’s still early in the season, course was in good condition - greens a bit bumpy due to recent punching. Some conditions off the fairway is a bit rough but nothing major.
Good course and conditions should grow in over the next weeks.
Chestatee Golf Club
Played On 03/24/2018Good round but
Greens were very good but there are some holes with washout / erosion issues and the bunkers were either average of bad (needs new sand badly). Layout is very good with exception of #10.
Fun course to play and good challenge from blue or black tees
Smoke Rise Country Club
Played On 02/03/2018First time at course
Decent course and overall conditions were good for winter. Several holes seemed similar from a design aspect and pace of play was on the slow side but this was due to one group ahead. Cart paths were poor from tree roots growing underneath.
Will be interesting to see how course looks in warmer weather.
SummerGrove Golf Club
Played On 07/18/2015Nice solid round
good pace of play and course was in good condition - over past years, the main complaint about this course was the front 9 drainage due to low lying position of that portion of the course as well as green condition. With the rain that has been in GA lately, I thought the front 9 was in fantastic condition. As for the greens, still some ball marks that have been un-repaired by previous golfers, but all in all, the greens were very good. Definitely recommend playing this course if you have not already.
Red/Blue at Westchester Golf & Country Club
Played On 02/09/2015Good course
Course was in good condition and overall, decent corse design - my only issue was that there were 4-5 holes that appeared to be exactly the same (375-390 yard dogleg right with water all down the right side). Recommend this course but try to get early tee time due to pace of play.
Cherokee Run Golf Club
Played On 08/24/2014first time at Cherokee Run
course was decent and good value for money; greens looked really good but would not hold good shots into the green; 3-4 times I hit approach shots within 10 feet short of pin only to have them bounce up 3-5 feet and role off the back of the green. Greens are well designed and the tiers and contours are the courses only defense to the above average golfer; nice place to play, but pace of play was slow - and had a golfer double back and pick up my ball on 18 off the fairway….never had that happen before.
Bear's Best Atlanta
Played On 9/29/2013Poor condition and SLOW play
This was my final time playing this course due to terrible conditions and repeated slow play. No marshals on the course to speed up play, the staff packs the course with tee times with no joining up of singles with 2-somes or 3-somes, and the overseeding of rye grass was ridiculous on the tee boxes and fairways, Many times the fairway grass was taller than the rough. And the greens were in terrible condition - I know this is tough for the course to maintain, but the number of ball marks on the green was terrible. Course design is above average, but playing experience and customer service in the clubhouse was poor.
The course itself was in good condition when we played, however the greens were in the worst condition i've seen in years on any course. I play both private and public all over the place, and I have never seen anything as poor as these greens, which made the round frustrating. Top Ten course in US? Maybe the layout, but at these prices you would think they could afford to find someone who could maintain the green complex.
The Georgia Club - Chancellors Red/Black Course
Played On 9/1/2013Great course
Great golf course, great design, and pace of play is good. Wish the other players would repair ball marks in the green, but great course otherwise.
Chestatee Golf Club
Played On 8/10/2013Good golf course, but a couple complaints;
Course is designed well, good condition, but there were some issues/complaints: first and foremost, there were two maintenance men driving around in John Deer maintenance vehicles but appeared to do nothing but make noise with their tractors; one even was sitting 10 ft off the green talking on his cell phone while we were putting; the other was a 2-some who held the entire pace of play up on the backside; a marshall would be nice to encourage quicker pace of play;
We are currently renovating our bunkers. Thank you for your review, we would love to see you back soon!
