I’ve played this course in the past, but this time it was absolutely terrible! The greens were so bad it was ridiculous, the fairways had so many areas of wet ground that when I hit a shot it was like hitting after a huge rain storm! I couldn’t believe how much they charge to play this place and the greens were the worst I’ve ever seen! I will not play this course again until it’s in good shape! Don’t waste your money there are plenty of courses around that are in tip top shape!

This course is pretty junky, dirt patches in the fairways and in the rough. Greens are nice, but the rest of the course looks like crap...bunkers have sand that is not the typical sand and of course not maintained whatsoever. Probably never play this hunk of junk again!

The staff at this course has the craziest demands. If you go out as a single which I do a lot they said I’m not allowed to pass members even if the members say I can pass. They get upset if you skip a hole and go back and play it and sometimes I’ll play some holes after the round , mined you no one is around and not allowed to do that either. It’s a wonder Candlewood is hard up for members with theses crazy demands! I play like 4 or 5 times a month and now they have lost my business and like I said this place is hurting for members and I can see why! Good luck if you play here! I don’t like to say stuff like this but, the staff is a bunch of idiots!

Have played Candlewood over 10 times and most of the time it’s been good, but this last time I ran into a 6 some on the 4th, so decided to skip some holes than ran into another 6 some, which is absolutely ridiculous! I thought about becoming a member, but after seeing 2 groups of 6 somes it’s not going to happen. Most of the time I play here the play is pretty slow. I really enjoy playing Candlewood. It’s a pretty tight course and hitting fairways and greens are a must! I like a course that has that challenge of having to be spot on to score well! I’ll definitely be back, hopefully no 6 somes out that day!

What a joke! For a Country Club it's disappointing how bad this course is! I never saw a maintenance person or crew working around the course the whole round! The rough is not maintained, for instance deep rough on one side and cut rough on the other side! Overgrown trees! Club house looks junkie, paint pealing around the club house, golf cart are in terrible condition! After the round the starter asked if I would be interested joining Candle Wood! I really had to hold back from laughing! I said, definitely not! Sorry, but this is terrible! Sad! Definitely won't play here again $59 for green fees is a ripoff!

Haven't play this course in a year. I couldn't believe how terrible the condition were, bare patches in all the fairways, dirt in almost every bunker. It's really sad, because at one time it was in plush condition and now it's just horrible! I won't be back! Yikes!

Don't waste your money! Fairways have dirt patches everywhere! Bunkers most of them just dirt! I wouldn't play this hunk of junk for free!

Really enjoy playing this course! Just love the layout. It's pretty challenging, greens are fast which suits me fine. The play was pretty slow for during the week, but it was well worth it. That is the 1st time during the week that I experienced slow play! Awesome view of the San Bernardino mountains. One of my favorite course to play! You won't be disappointed! I'll keep coming back for sure!

What a pleasant experience playing La Costa. Just an epic day! As for the course just fabulous! Really loved the layout of this course. There are plenty of moderate to difficult holes, which I think has a nice mix for the course. There are plenty of bunkers & the greens are guarded as well, so placing it on the green is a must. Hit to the left or right of a green & most likely you'll end up in a bunker. If your planning to play this course I would definitely practice your bunker play. The bunkers are not deep so it's not suicide if ya land in em'. Pretty easy to hit out of em' if ur a half way decent bunker player. The scenery is just to die for! An absolutely beautiful resort! The staff was awesome! I have no complaints whatsoever! La Costa Spa & resort is only a mile from the beach, who wouldn't love to take a stroll on the beach after a round of golf! This place is a Gem! I'm aware the rates for golf are not cheap & other reviews I read complain bout that, but I've never played a resort course that was cheap, so I really don't get what the crying about! I had the best time golf'n here! I'll be back! Thanks La Costa Spa & Resort for a wonderful day of golf & a pleasant day!

I really enjoy playing this course...the fairways & greens r always in good condition every time I've played here. It's not a very challenging course but a lot of fun to play. Always have a lot of chances for birdies when I play this course. The scenery is really cool! The staff is great too. If I lived closer to this course sure would play it more often...no complaints here! Well done Sierra Lakes!

I haven't played this course in 10 yrs or so...I was so disappointed! The fairways had dirt patches, just ugly as it gets! If ya misses the fairway dirt patches in the rough. It seem like the bunkers had a mix of dirt and sand in em'! This course is a hunk of junk! The greens were nice that was the only plus! I don't know how many different patches of grass are growing...weeds growing everywhere ! If anybody rates this course any good they have never played a decent course in there life! If this is all you can afford then you'll have to make the best of it. But it's one of the worst courses I've ever played! Just ugly! Playing here again will never happen! Yikes!

Played on Thur...pace of play was very good. Never saw a Marshal the whole round. Cart girl came around a lot. As for the course, priced way to high as with most Orange County courses. I was not impressed with this course at all. For $90.00 ouch! A lot of the bunkers had dirt in em' & wet sand. The water around the course had scum in it! Fairways were nice, greens not good for $90.00 a lot of ball marks! The layout was nothing to Brag about! Will I play this course again? Maybe, for half the price! Not a hard course at all...mid to high handicap golfers can enjoy this course if u want to spend the bucks to play!

No starter, so very disorganized. I really enjoyed the layout & playing this course. A lot of fun & challenging holes. My experience was not the best this time due to the fact we had a 2 some & caught up to a 5 some of women that were walking. We ask if we could pass they refused ! said they were members even the Marshall agreed with em' OUCH!!! We spoke to the pro shop bout what happened, we received a free round for a 4 some to use in future. I'll play here again, if I'm treated with a lack of respect again then there are plenty of other courses to play. Staff was very courtesy outside the Marshall !
