Just ok

Greens were in rough shape (mostly the back nine). There was a temporary green on number 16. Pace of play was pretty slow as it took us 4.5 hours for 18. No rangers on course. No starter on tee box. Dormant grass was starting to grow in Fairway. The driving range was decent but showing age.
Overall a decent layout with some elevation changes but not worth the prices they were charging. One suggestion would be to get a bag drop area as the distance between where we had to park and the cart barn was substantial.
The place was packed though so they must be doing some things right.

Oh how this course has fallen

Played here on vacation for the 2nd time. The first time was March 2019 and the course was in very good condition. I was shocked to see the condition of the driving range and golf carts. The range was using balls that literally looked like they were purchased from an old putt putt course (weathered and worn dimples). The hitting mats were ALL missing white tees to hit driver. They were all pretty much torn and worn. We rented clubs and mine (Left handed) was a mix of Ping irons and Titlests AP1’s. They were mixed with regular flex and senior flex shafts.
The gentleman next to me at the range was a local Aruban who played there often. He stated that the course had a “cart” problem. I didn’t quite get it until we approached the first green and realized the cart had know lock-braking. The cart was very worn with bald tires (cart #5)
The gentleman said that a new company bought the course and was planning a full re-do in the coming years (9 holes at a time).
The overall conditions were poor ( fairways very brown, tee boxes were poor with crabgrass everywhere, and greens were below average. The only areas maintained well seemed to be the sand traps which were raked/dragged. I couldn’t believe the difference 4 years made. Clearly course maintenance and funds have depleted. It was a real shame to see as it costs my wife and I was $415 to play with rental clubs (which they discounted 50% for us). The staff was pleasant and helpful and the hot dogs at the turn were excellent (my course highlight). Adding insult to injury our cart was dying (electric) as we climbed the steep 18th fairway. The layout on this course and scenery is fantastic and I hope it can be returned to its glory days.

Great Deal ....terrible course maintenance

Played on a very hot Tuesday morning in July with my wife. We are out-of-Towners and had played this course and it's sister course in nearby Rising Sun around 8 years ago. I was pleasantly surprised that we had been lucky enough to catch a "2 for Tuesday" special. We payed only $40 for 2 people total including the cart. We couldn't believe what a deal that was.....we were also shocked that the parking lot only had 5 or 6 cars in it at 10 am. We chalked it up to a very humid 90 degree day.
It only took 2 holes to figure out the price break and lack of Golfers. The cart paths were washed out and rutted paths that were like riding in number cars. The fairways and tee boxes were extremely poor and had many brown and bare spots. Sand traps around the greens looked like they hadn't been raked or maintained in months. The greens were the only parts of this course that were no disappointing. We ran into 2 young kids who were doing some maintenance around the first green....we asked them why the course was in such dilapidated shape and how much it had changed in the past 8 years since we had been their last. The 2 young men told us that they worked at the sister course and were only there for the day to help out. They said all of the money made goes to the clubhouse upkeep as they do a good event/wedding business. They told us that it is well known in the local community of golf that the course was being neglected. Wow.....we played our round in 3:50 and it would have been quicker but we had 2 elderly gents playing very slowly in front of us. We got lunch at the turn and I must say the sandwiches were delicious and reasonably priced. If you are looking for a cheap place to play with no regards for course condition or the welfare of your back (cart paths)...this is a good option. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to play this course.
