Stay away. If this course dropped prices to $20 a round you'd STILL be over-paying for what you receive.

Carlton Oaks Lodge & Country Club
Played On 01/27/2019Slow Going
Came out as a single, was supposed to join a 3-some, I assumed. No starter on-site or anyone directiong traffic, a 3-some teeing off denied my request to join in, only for a stream of 4-somes to come along behind me afterwards. Either they'll let me join, or play through was our assessment. Nope. Got stuck behind the 3-some for the whole round, as a single, and a 4-some behind me. They did have a 4-some ahead of them, but still they deliberately tee'd off and left the next tee boxes before I could arrive. Too nice of a day to skip holes, but waiting on every hole did nothing to improve my game..
Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're sorry to hear about the confusion regarding your tee time. These are not the expectations we strive for at Carlton Oaks. Please feel free to reach out to a member of our pro shop staff to discuss. We hope this doesn't deter you from returning for another round soon. Thanks for playing!
Pilgrim's Run Golf Club
Played On 09/02/2018Great Layout
Just enough length and width of the FWs to provide some challenge, but ample room to shape shots and bomb the driver also. You definitely get the feeling of being remote while only miles away from Grand Rapids. Must play in my opinion.
Arcadia Bluffs Golf Course
Played On 08/30/2018Greens ruined the experience
The views and layouts are amazing, but the fun stops once you're at the greens. Too many times I hit good shots into the greens, fixing ball marks within 10' of the hole, only to find my ball 20-50' away and behind mounds and tiers that made the putts literally impossible to keep close, or even on the green. One putt in particular, 20' from the hole, but had to go over a tall mound to the hole on the downslope which lead to a false front. The 'play' was to hit the ball 90* away from the hole, up an adjacent slope, and hope the ball settles back within 15' for the par putt. This happened WAY too many times throughout the round. At $199 I'll easily pass on playing this course again anytime soon. Many other courses nearby have better bang for the buck.
Camelback Golf Club - Padre Course
Played On 11/24/2017Way over-valued
Was a typical park course in the middle of the desert. Zero elevation change and minimal challenge. Even at the golfnow price of $99 (a considerable deal compared to the asking $179), this is over-valued compared to nearby climatic desert courses. Spent $40 less the next day elsewhere and played a remarkable, and rememberable, desert course.
CrossCreek Golf Club
Played On 03/11/2017Off the beaten path
Its just outside of Temecula and out of sight of houses, highways, and airports. Nice wooded and hillside course with plenty of opportunities (and challenges)
Chula Vista Golf Course
Played On 11/20/2016Good Value
The FWs are never in great shape but their greens are typically great. Course has enough challenge to keep it interesting but also a good course for the less than average player. Had a 0700 tee time and was finishing by 1030. Like any CA gold course, the earlier you can catch it, the better pace of play you'll have.
Omni La Costa Resort & Spa - Legends Course
Played On 11/04/2016Country club experience at a 3-star course
Offcourse and on, conditions were catering. Course layout and challenge was disappointing. Even with the ''Hot' deal cost plus the $10 reward coupon, total cost at $60, I wouldn''t seek it out again. Many other SD courses offer better layouts, better views, at much less of the price. At the $130 golfnow normal morning charge, ridiculously overpriced. .
Iron Valley Golf Club
Played On 10/17/2016Prepare before you play
Ensure you get a good warm up in first, with both fairway woods and chips, you''ll need plenty of both. Club selection is a must and a driver is not the best club off many of thd tees. Green side shots require thought as the greens afe fast, and greensides can be drastically hilly.
The Golf Club at Rancho California
Played On 05/14/2016Great Layout
Fairways and greens in great shape
Legends Golf Club
Played On 05/14/2016Lackluster layout
Course not in the greatest shape and many of the holes contain large (2-club) elevation changes which offer nothing in excitement other than long walks uphill. Greens were punched a month ago and are still in bad shape. Putts moved with the consistency of a rolled egg.
I'm sure it has its fine days, but I'd give it a few months before playing here.
The Vineyard at Escondido
Played On 1/2/2013Short but challenging
Drivers not necessary to put yourself in great positions for the greens. A great course to work on your 100 yd game. Greens are as slick as they could be though so just because you reach in two, don't expect an easy birdie (or par for that matter).
One of my favorite courses in the SD area.
